There is something horribly, horribly ironic about their propensity to get stolen-against to death while not being able to take a base when it matters.
Clearly, Crawford is f***ed in the head right now. He's a guy who always looked so natural stealing bases in the past. Suddenly he looks nervous.
Both he and Lackey need some therapy in the offseason. I'm not even kidding. Crawford needs the more "normal" sports psychology type therapy. Lackey needs the "real" 'work out your s***' kind of therapy.
I would also suggest that Ellsbury, Crawford and Pedroia spend the off-season working out together. Help Crawford feel like a central and important part of the team.
I'm still optimistic that Crawford can become the player we all know he is. Also, between Ellsbury, Crawford and Kalish I can envision a tremendous OF moving forward. Maybe just not this year.
