  1. It's called giving up on your team before the results are in.
  2. Ivan Nova is mowing them down.
  3. Your questions belong chiseled in stone somewhere, buried in a temple to be discovered a few thousand years from now. "that not so fast fast ball" and the "not going to break slider" will be things of legend!
  4. I wouldn't do it for the most part, but times like now are the time when you need fans to be at their best. Not packing up their picnic basket and folding chair and going home in disgust.
  5. Also, you just missed a Siberian tiger jumping on the field literally in the middle of a very rare 1-5-2-4-8 double-play. Lackey to Lowrie to Tek to Pedroia to Ellsbury, who was covering home. You're missing some pretty amazing stuff but don't worry, I will continue giving you the blow-by-blow.
  6. Okay, I will call back the police from doing a wellness check on you. Must be pretty painless to be a fan who gives up on his team weeks early, switches the channel in a do-or-die game, and knows the result of the season before it happens.
  7. Nah. It is much worse to be a Cubs or Mets fan. They are out of contention by July. We have to remember that actually caring about the outcome of a game late in the season means the team is in contention. It's WHY I want the Sox to be good, so I can care a little longer.
  8. Really? You're sitting in a dark room somewhere, not paying attention to the game, but posting on a game thread about how terrible the Sox are? Wow.
  9. This is going to be a fun gamethread. Since I'll be working the next few nights I will treat this as my farewell to the 2011 season, barring a great turnaround and playoff appearance. I'm in it for the longhaul... unless I get hungry.
  10. Yeah, but factually, it isn't over and you're still here, in a gamethread, talking s***. If the season is over for you and/or you don't care, then perhaps you are in the wrong thread. They are not mathmatically eliminated, and there are 3 games left. Unless you have some contract with a higher power you didn't "know" anything. You guessed.
  11. Honestly, the fact that it is the Yankees doesn't mean s*** in my eyes. The Sox would be an embarassment no matter who they were losing to right now. The fact that it is the Yankees is really, really insignificant in my eyes.
  12. Curt Young: "John, your fat, out of shape, and unable to pitch at a competitive level on the biggest stage" John Lackey: "Yeah, so?" Curt Young: "Can you give us a few more innings?" John Lackey: "Definitely"
  13. That throw by Gonzalez was the best play the Sox have had in a few games. Seriously.
  14. The last time I felt like this was game 4 of the 2004 ALCS. I was absolutely deflated and believed that nobody on that team could pull the team out of it. Dave Roberts provided the spark that team needed to pull their s*** together. Can Lackey run the bases at all? (As the next generation of Yankees uber-star doubles) NICE PLAY AGON!
  15. Your job is to piss off fellow posters?
  16. Your pessimism is wearing thin Reck. There's plenty of reason to bitch and moan, but you have a way of doing it that actually makes the situation worse.
  17. To be fair, 3-0 is not insurmountable. However, unless something amazing happens, it is for this team.
  18. Not the time Jacko. Not the time.
  19. The question is, are there pitchers warming up in the bullpen?
  20. Don't worry, he won't get a playoff start...
  21. I'm the only one still here, aren't I?
  22. OH MY GOD. HOLY s***. I'm literally laughing.
