  1. And... a triple play. Jackos douchebags f***ED UP.
  2. Intentionally walking Posada. If Jacko's douchebags don't f*** up it should be at least 4-2 after this inning.
  3. 2nd and 3rd, no outs for Yankees in the 6th. Come on Swisher... ouch! That hurts A RUN FOR YANKS! Still 2nd and 3rd, 0 outs. ALMOST a 3 run shot.
  4. f*** Markakis. Damn it.
  5. Lavarnway has the patient approach that the Sox love to train their players on. That's invaluable (see: Crawford, Carl).
  6. The good part is that the O's aren't trying to win nearly as bad as the Red Sox. No short leash for Britton like there is for Bedard. The kid has to work his way through. Yay!
  7. C'mon Ace. YES! Well done.
  8. And I hope that Kalish deserves a fanhouse. I suspect he will.
  9. Bedard by committee?
  10. Any chace Pedro can come in in the 4th and throw no-hit ball for the rest of the game?
  11. Aceves to the rescue?
  12. Extrapolating minor league numbers allowed this team to reasonably predict that Pedroia would be a valuable player for this team. Don't take Dojii's failure to appropriately predict something as a failure of the predictive model. f***. 5-3
  13. Lavarnway is a beast. I expect that he will be able to put up a .370 OBP and a .450 SLG (if not more) given his minor league numbers.
  14. Yep, Lavarnway probably doesn't have a future here.
  15. We've had this disucssion already. He wouldn't trade him for any pitcher, period. They waivered when I mentioed Pedro in his prime, but then reasoned (appropriately) that Pedro in his prime was a once every 3-4 generation talent. I would trade Ellsbury for Felix, mostly because I think they can more easily replace the production Ellsbury gives them than finding a pitcher who will produce what Felix does as consistently as he does it. But hey, that's just me. Interestingly, as certainly as a700 wouldn't trade Ellsbury for a guy as good as Felix, I bet Seattle wouldn't do the deal straight up either. It would probably take Ells + + for Felix.
  16. To you're point SCM, I think you're both right! The Sox are still very much in this thing. Many of us are skeptical of how this will finish and emotionally preparing ourselves for the worst, but there's still a chance and the eternal optimsists could remain optimistic. The Sox just need to win the next two games or else. That's all.
  17. They had to score a run. They faced multiple Yankees regulars on the mound, including Mariano. I mean, it's not like the Yankees less-than-average lineup could take away runs from the Yankees, right? In other words, a win is a win, and that win was well-deserved.
  18. If this is true then people need to be patient with the process. I don't think it needs to be blown up at all. They should be a 95 win team next year. Yes, there should be significant changes, but not blowing it up. They are set at C (?), 1B, 2B, maybe SS, probably 3B, LF, CF and hopefully RF (Kalish/Reddick). DH is a question. Rotation has 4 arms in it, with the 5th open for debate. For better or worse, Lackey is in the rotation. Mabe he's been so busy ditching his cancer-ridden wife that his head has been elsewhere. I really dislike the guy, but I think he's capable of being a decent pitcher. Blah.
  19. I'm from out of town too. I just pay for mlb.tv on my PS3 so I can watch the games. There's a free WEEI app for the ipod/iphone if you want to torture yourself with talk radio. I don't suggest it.
