  1. In general I agree with you TheKilo. Seriously. I just don't see a need to start second guessing before the game is over, especially since we're still winning. People were second guessing the use of Okajima the other day as a closer, yet he did well. I told my wife it was either going to be seen as a stupid move or a stroke of genius. So far, the jury says genius. Manny's broken out of his slump. We called it.
  2. Or if he had an extra hand growing off his right foot. He could have caught it more easily. I hate superfluous dives.
  3. This is one of those games I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the end of. It is too nervewracking sometimes.
  4. Maybe because he's on pace to hit 200 HR and 350 RBI or something :dunno:
  5. Papelbon will get his work tonight. Damon, Jeter, Abreu and Slappy.
  6. El Heffe, C'mon man!!! Let's get a run for Paps.
  7. But he's really short a700. What about how short he is? Does the NCAA defensive player of the year mean anything to the skeptics now?
  8. First of all, I had one of those this morning and it was delicious. Second, when Romero was up everyone was freaking out. BD is largely unproven with this club, Timlin is a hanging fingernail waiting to be bitten and Pineiro would have freaked people out. Okajima will be able to take a few days off now, I assure you of that. But Tito went with what has worked in the past and I don't blame him for it.
  9. THAT IS WHAT f***ING D IS ALL ABOUT!!!
  10. Can't you blame Okijima? I mean, Tito didn't pitch. I bet Hideki would be the first to admit it.
  11. Nice job hiding it A-Rod. Let's do a pickoff at 2B here. Call it pedroia.
  12. Nice fake by Lugo. Of course, no credit to Lugo.
  13. They're bussom buddies. OR, Dice-K is wondering "what is the polite American way to tell someone you don't want to be friends?"
  14. C'mon Okija! Just get Roid-Man. A DP would be beautiful.
  15. HOLY s***. 3 VDubs for under 17,000?? I'm OUT FELLAS. I'll see you all at a later time. I need to get myself a VDub.
  16. Nieves has RIPPED the ball 2 times. Again, he's hit it harder than A-Rod has.
  17. I'll take a base hit by A-Rod. No biggie.
  18. I LOVE it that Dice-K is still in there. HE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT YET? Are you a fool Joe? Oh yeah, you are, I forgot for a second with all the typing to Jack.
  19. I'm not denying that you're missing 2 of your good hitters. But what if DiceK is only pitching at 85% efficiency tonight? What if next time he pitches at 100%? Can you show me that a more effective Dice K couldn't POSSIBLY make up for the offensive upgrade at the bottom of the order? I don't think you can. What you are denying is that THIS IS STILL THE YANKEES LINEUP. Last year Posada was healthy, but they wouldn't play him when RJ pitched. Is he the second coming of Johnny Bench? no. He's a very good hitter but he has plenty of 0'Fer nights like any other hitter does. The Yankees are their starters, and their bench players. You may not like that, but its a fact. Let's look at the phrase "missing 2 of our better hitters". I would take that to mean that those two are in the top half of hitters in your usual lineup. Right? I mean, that's what "Better" means, above average, top half seem fair? I would currently rate Damon, Jeter, Abreu and A-Rod above either Matsui or Posada. Weren't Matsui and Posada hitting at the bottom of the order? So, they're not even the top 50% of your lineup. Is that some of your "better" hitters by this definition? I think they are good hitters, but are they your BETTER hitters? Not by a long shot.
