Even though I support the pro-teacher comments on this thread. I do wish to point that graduating college does not mean you are smart, as well as not going to college doesn't mean your stupid. I have a lot of friends that went to college and I have no problem saying "I'm way smarter than all of them"! Educated does not = smart and smart does not = educated, some people self educate very well.

I was kinda joking at first, but look at this! Radja stats over his 4 year career w/BOS 16.7PPG, 1.3BPG, .9SPG, 8.4RPG - Thats not to shabby! Ming's stats over his 3 year career w/HOU 16.4PPG, 1.9BPG, .36SPG, 8.5RPG - Less points PG, not many more BPG, less SPG, basiclly the same RPG! Now I completely understand that Yao is just starting his career in the NBA and will improve (maybe). I'd also have to remind you that Dino Radja started his NBA career late in life comparitively. If Radja started his career in the NBA when Yao did, Radja may well have better life time stats than Yao ever will have. It's funny I was just kidding at first... Face it people Yao isn't all that good of a player and his value is in the fact that he will make a lot more money than he'll cost!
-
LMFAO! I wonder if people hate the Pats like people hate the Yankess? Do they hate Pats fans as much as Yanks fans? Hum I wonder?
-
Yao is just slightly better than Celtic alumni Dino Radja. Get real they paid him that money because he brings in money. Ya he's an OK player, but not as good as that money. Yao has a fan base larger than any other NBA player. His home country follows him, purchases merchandise, ect. Thats why they paid him the big money, they make more off of Yao than that measly 15 mill a year or whatever!

So 18 games vs. the teams we have a losing record to huh? WOW we are in trouble. It really might just come down to the last NYY series of the season to decide it. It's kinda scary, but then again thats why baseball is so much fun to watch and follow, especially the sox cause there right there every year.

AL Team Record vs. us... Bal 7-5 CWS 2-4 Cle 2-4 Det 4-6 KC 2-4 LAA 3-4 Min 2-4 NYY 7-6 Oak 2-4 Sea 3-3 TB 4-12 Tex 2-7 Tor 8-3 Only BAL, NYY, and TOR have winning records against us (in the AL). Interleague Play we finished 12W-6L Who are we most worried about come play-off time?

The Thread wasn't just about Millar. There are lots of players on this team from time to time get under my skin. Kevin Millar this season sucks compared to other starting Red Sox players. I'm only asking you not to forget what he and other did last year. It sucks that players don't want to come play in Boston because of the way fans and media treat them. I have been guilty myself of talking s*** about a player. Recently I've thought about the fact that we all are lucky enough to be alive during a Red Sox World Series Championship. I for one feel lucky and thankful. I predge to not talk "s***" about a Red Sox player. I might be like "come on Manny hustle" or damb it Kevin hit into another DP or something. I will not complain like a little bitch anymore though. To me it seems as if certain fans hate the players on this team more than they hate Yankees players. Expect more from then fine. I know I expected more from Kevin Millar only because he was a pretty good ball player last year. I don't go from rooting for him last year to hating him this year - Hence my complaint about FAIRWEATHER FANS!

Would the real Kevin Millar please stand up?
BrentD22 replied to SCM33's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
Red Sox fans have to be the most spoiled cry babies in all of sports. I love ther Red Sox. I get frustrated with certain players at certain times and I understand slumps as well. At times I will complain about a guy not hustling or not playing well, but I can't say I hate a Red Sox player I just can't. I'm most thankful to them for winning a World Series! -
Oh ya before this thread was hijacked by Millar haters my hole point was that we (sox fans) give way too much s*** to our guys. We should support them and enjoy the fact that we are the defending World Series Champions. Have some graditude for those players. Instead we talk s*** about them like we could do better. Get real it's a hard game.

I wasn't comparing Tom Brady's playing skills to Millar. I was comparing the value as a teammate. The Red Sox are a great team because of no one player, because of the collective team. When one player doesn't play well someone else is there to step up. BTW - I'm a huge Brady fan, but plan and simple if he was drafted by the Browns he would not be who he is today. Brady is great because the team is great. Yes now he is a great QB and he will always go down as the best QB in Pats history, but it would not have happened without the great teammates he has on the field and in the locker room. I NEVER said "the Tom Brady of baseball". So f***-off! I have an idea lets bad mouth every player on the red sox even though we are just coming off the 1st World Series Championship in 86 years. Where is your graditude f*** face?

How do certain yankee loving members have larger avatars?

s*** it's late your right Edgar is here for 3 more - Unless we trade him or... I'm not saying your wrong about Youk, cause he is going to be a great 3b. I'm just not sure about letting Youk go or have him as a bench guy. It's tuff. Can Youk play 2b or even 1st?
-
Right I should have said Resign Edgar on my SS list, I just forgot. I got my list from that site too. Although the site give props to some players I would not and doesn't give any to others that I think deserve. Other than that it's a pretty good site for lots of info around the league.

I think Manu gets reconigtion. It's just that all his f***ing reconigtion is people saying "he doesn't get enough recongition. Manu is a big player in this league no doubt. Didn't you see the NBA's ads through out end of the season and play-offs? Manu had lots of camera time. As for Finley to the Spurs it's huge for the Spurs and Finely. Michael's body is getting old fast. Going to the Spurs will allow him to play less minutes on a kick ass team and win a ring. Manu will still get his time and this will also help with match-up problems caused by Manu's size.

I agree with Hyrax. What does that have to do with playing baseball do you need to be physically and emotionally attracted to a player first in order to like him? For instance Randy Johnson is an ******* and one ugly man that must mean he sucked his whole career, right?! I believe he is a huge leader in the clubhouse. He gets between players and umps to protect them, he gets the team fired up, he's like the clubhouse bar tender, blow jobs, what ever it takes. I personally like him because when a player does well in a particular year as in a world series year I dont' forget that and say "what have you've done for me lately" I say "he was good and theres a good chance he'll be good again, this is just a slump". Sure sometimes he has diarrhea of the mouth, but at times don't we all.

I listed several "other" notable players for the Red Sox. The Red Sox list of notable non-bottom of barrel players should read - Bill Mueller, Johnny Damon, Mike Myers, Mike Timlin. Hyrax are you going to contribute to this post or just find things wrong with it? Come on make some comments on players you want or we should go after.
-
1st Base - Paul Konerko, JT Snow 2nd Base - Carlos Baerga, Todd Walker, Miguel Cairo, Enrique Wilson 3rd Base - Re-sign Bill Mueller, Joe Randa is all that's av. so we really need to sign BM SS - Rey Ordonez, Royce Clayton, Jose Valentin, Rafael Furcal, maybe even Nomar C - Even though we don't need - Ramon Hernadez OF - Resign Johnny Damon, Jacque Jones, Matt Lawton, Brian Giles, Richard Hidalgo, Juan Gonzalez, Matt Stairs, Brian Jordan, Moises Alou, ect...... SP - AJ Burnett, Jeff Weaver, Jason Schmidt, Kevin Millwood, Roger Clemens, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Kenny Rogers, Jarrod Washburn RP - Resign Mike Myers, Resign Mike Timlin, BJ Ryan, Danny Graves, Kyle Farnsworth, Julian Tavares, Tim Worrell, Tom Gordaon (or closer). Closer - Trevor Hoffman, Billy Wagner, Jose Mesa, Bob Wickman, Ugeuth Urbina, Matt Mantei We also need to resign Theo Epstein. I believe his contract is expiring as well.

Why will you hate him? I will love every player from last year forever no matter what!
-
OK I looked at Kevin's stats this year and he does suck this year, but I still love that guy! He will climb out of this slump just in time for the play-offs and you'll all be sorry! I hope!
-
List all this player bashing just isn't right. I'm a big fan and yes some guys piss me off from time to time (Manny). Millar and Bellhorn did some great things last year. Granted they are not all-star players, but get real a baseball team can't have every player to the all-star game. Bellhorn and Millar would be viewed as much better players on most other teams because they wouldn't have the comparision of Manny, Tek, Muellar, Nixon, Damon, ect. We have a huge amount of GREAT players on this team. I am a Kevin Millar fan and I love Bellhorn for what he did for us last year in the play-offs. Believe it or not Millar does a lot for this TEAM. More than most think. He is a leader no doubt! I've said this before and I mean it. If Tom Brady was on the Browns he would not be viewed as a great QB. He's a great QB because he is on a great team and he helps to make it a great team. Management, Coaching, and most of all good players make a great team and many great players make an amazing team. The Pats have many great players and lots of good players making one of the most amazing teams every. The Red Sox have lots of good players and several great players. We are no doubt a great team. Our record doesn't show this because we are in a pretty damb good division and all teams get up and give us their best when we come to town. Let's quit the bitchin and start Keeping the Faith, supporting, routing, and loving OUR Boston Red Sox! Ya get on a guy when he has a ruff night or makes a bone head play, but jesus I've seen more negative Kevin Millar posts this week and he's HOT. I mean why rip a guy apart when he is having a hot streak? Curt Shilling right now sucks ass as a pitcher. I love him and always will because of what he did last year. Every one of those players from last year should be our hero's (even Nomar). They all made it possible for us to say... The WORLD f***ING SERIES CHAMPS THE BOSTON RED SOX! PS - Sorry for the rant!
