I think the reason this is hitting me so hard is that the guy who caused the accident that killed her was drunk and it's looking like he may not see more than a couple months in prison, if that.

Yeah, yeah it is. Any blood alcohol level more than one drink is bad when you get into a car. If it was up to me, any MLB player who got a DUI would be out for the whole season. They should get the same penalties that regular people get, but they don't.

Yeah I think everyone here knows how I feel about drunk drivers. Take away his liscense and suspend him from the team for misconduct or something. f***er.

A question for the Red Sox fans....

No for two reasons. One, it stopped them from celebrating in Fenway, and two, loss or not it gave us two more Red Sox games for the season. I'd rather have a losing regular season, say 75-87 or something, than have no Sox games at all. So the extra games were nice for me to take my mind off of life. I can't wait until 2009. -
It would have been nice. I guess this wasn't the year though. Tampa Bay is a damn good team and as I always pick a team to root for in the series anyways, looks like it will be the Rays. I hope Lowell is healthy next year. There's only so much disappointment I can take...

If Alex Cora gets a meaningful hit, walk, or otherwise is directly responsible for something positive for the Red Sox in this game, I will eat this entire pack of Camel Turkish Jades.

If the Sox win, most of my coworkers will give me leeway to be insufferable. One of them told me after losing someone close, he's rooting for the Sox just so I can be happy for a bit. I thought that was really nice, especially considering how miserable he must be regarding his team (he's a Mets fan).

Yeah because Cora has been absolutley crushing the baseball. That slow roller to first was the hardest dribbler I'd ever seen. Ten seconds more or a shattered first basemans' knee, and he would have had an infield single. GO CORA RAH RAH RAH. I never thought I'd miss Lugo. At least with Lowrie out you have Julio who might be able to take a walk every once in a while.
