  1. Yeah, but what about my avatar?! It's the best avatar EVER.
  2. Yeah, a knuckleballer attempting to emulate one of the few knuckleballers who posted a solid career with decent numbers, mostly on a contending team? How silly of her. She should be modeling herself after Charlie Zink. Incidentally, there was a time a while ago where I would have said something about how I felt about a 16-year old Japanese schoolgirl who plays baseball, but it doesn't feel right now. I just wanted to mention it because it makes me nostalgic...
  3. I'd just like to say to anyone advocating trading Youk...think of the trouble I'd have to go through coming up with a new username. Did you ever think of that? Huh? You selfish bastards. I suppose ItsPronouncedTuhshareah, or something, might work...
  4. Cliff Floyd and Brad Wilkerson? No thanks. Griffey would be way too expensive for what would probably be a one-year deal. Ditto Anderson. The Trot Nixon 'era' is over. Get used to it. He ISNT COMING BACK BECAUSE HE IS LESS THAN MEDIOCRE NOW. Jim Edmonds is 75 years old. Juan Rivera...maybe. MAYBE. Rocco Baldelli is about as reliable physically as a space shuttle made out of scotch tape and toothpicks.
  5. Let's pick up Edgar Renteria. I hear he's awesome.
  6. It would give me so much more faith in humanity if a couple high-profile stars would just step up and say 'you know, I can't do anything with 20 million a year that I can't do with 40. In light of the average American's struggles at the moment it seems selfish and horrible to hold up the team management for so much more money. I'll take the contract they're offering.' I know it won't happen...but Scott Boras certainly has to have some kind of sway in the decisions to get these guys to say 'no, 4 years, 70 million just isn't enough'.
  7. I mean it. Making sure players get paid is a lot different than trying to make out like someone is getting robbed for 'only' getting 5 yrs. at eighty million billion dollars.
  8. Yes, but he the godfather of terrible human beings in baseball.
  9. If I wasn't an atheist, whatever religion I belonged to would have Scott Boras as it's devil. The man is the biggest cancer in baseball. I think he was actually removed from Mike Lowell's testicles.
  10. Damn, the Sharks are quite good right now. Oh, and go Detroit!
  11. Pavano. The end of an error. As a Red Sox fan, a baseball fan, and a fan of humor in general, I'd like to thank you, Carl, for giving me endless hours of hysterics whenever I talk or think about what you have become as a Yankee. As a Connecticut resident, f*** you for making sure that the best known current Connecticut-born players in MLB now are John McDonald and Rajai f***ing Davis. Oh yeah, and the soon-to-be retired Brad Ausmus. EDIT: I should reiterate that I mean active players. I mean, we still have Mo Vaughn.
  12. I have a thing for Canadians.
  13. Lester's no-no, the 19-17 win over the Rangers, Game 5 of the ALCS, and the moment I learned the Sox got Jason Bay, who I've wanted since I went to a game in Pittsburgh a couple years ago.
  14. EDIT I just read the original post
  15. Of course! There are black people everywhere in the world except for Siberia, Montana, and New England country clubs.
  16. I was rooting for the Rays, but after some deliberation, I came to a conclusion. As much as I'd love to see the PLAYERS win, their 'fans' don't deserve it. There have been die-hard Phillies fans before and, more importantly, after their win in 1980. They come every day, fill up the stadium, cheer for the Phils and when they don't win, they come back next year and cheer harder. As much as Phils fans are maligned in the media and by other fans, they are THERE. That is more than we can say for the people who started showing up in early September at the Trop and still let themselves be drowned out at times by Sox fans in their own stadium. The only people who deserve to see their team win here are the Phillie Phanatics and anyone in a "DEVIL Rays" jersey. Go Phillies, and f*** you Tampa 'fans'.
  17. Then perhaps you should spend time with Red Sox fans instead of Yankees fans.
  18. When he does I hope the Sox retire his number. I know he doesn't meet most of the qualifications, but he has pitched for more than a decade for this team, been a great person, taken a hometown discount for a long time, and generally has been a prescense for the Sox that will be sorely missed by fans and players alike. Maybe not retire his number, but some sort of honoring needs to be done by the team when that day comes.
  19. I'll take 11-15 wins in the fifth-spot with DiceK, Lester, and Beckett at the top of our rotation for 4 million a year any day. I mean, look at some of the other team's equivalents of Wake last season. (Mediocre bottom guys) Josh Fogg? Jorge De La Rosa? Some guy on the Nationals whose name I can't even recall off the top of my head? Sidney Ponson? Wake is a solid option, and with his soft delivery he can pitch for a couple more seasons at least. And a700, I understand what you meant by your comment, but remember what has happened to the last people who mocked or wished injury on players around here. I'm not threatening you, (because I realize the other ones were idiots, and you aren't), I'm just letting you know how people feel about it by and large. There has to be a way to get that point across without wishing injury on someone. My rotator cuff is what got me discharged from the Army (at least in part) and I can assure you that though non-life-threatening, it is by no means painless, and wishing pain on a guy who has been so good for and to this team (or, in fact, wishing pain on pretty much anyone) is not the way to express your opinion.
  20. f*** you Harlan Chamberlain. No, there wouldn't be reporters there if she got a DUI. But on top of the fact that DUI is a CRIME, and is also incredibly irresponsible, stupid, and dangerous, your son is a PROFESSIONAL SPORTS PLAYER. If you don't want the media following his every move, especially when he gets a DUI, perhaps you should have asked him NOT TO PITCH FOR THE f***ING NEW YORK YANKEES. The media do what they do. Yeah, they wouldn't be there if your neighbor got a DUI...and they wouldn't be there if Joba hadn't, either. Next time when he kills someone, will it be media worthy? You're lucky that sports players get off so easy. If it were up to most of us your son would be sitting in your house all next season watching baseball on television because he couldn't spring for a cab with a paycheck 100 times the size of mine. As much of an idiot that he comes off as here I hope this guy never has to deal with losing his idiot son or anyone else he loves because Joba or anyone else couldn't stop drinking. f***er.
  21. Excuse me for my non-literal STAR WARS PARAPHRASING.
  22. Cashman: Okay, what do we do? Hank: Trade Hughes, Cano, Kennedy, and Chamberlain for Sabathia Gom: *gasp* Salas: What is it? Gom: It's as if thousands of Yankees fans who had playoff hopes cried out at once...and were suddenly silenced...
  23. The bastard who hit Ami was a .11 by the way.
