Yeah, I understand throwing at the guy, I’ve never liked it, but hey, that’s baseball. The vulgarity of his chosen response, though, seems incongruous with the image the organization likes to present to the league and the country. The Yankees don’t even let their players have beards or long hair, they’ve always tried to project themselves as the “gentlemen” of baseball, loftily staring down their noses at the immature, rowdy kids on the other teams. No matter how many times their stars slap balls out of a glove to avoid a tag or throw jagged bats at runners. We as fans are free to be hypocritical, the Yankees shouldn’t be.
