  1. I'm surprised nobody's tried to do this yet
  2. Updated with all of November's transactions thus far (real busy past few weeks), and the change of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to the Tampa Bay Rays lol
  3. Crisp is more valuable than Melky? BTW, what's UZR? Apearantly all you Red-Legs do around here is look at statistical analysis to evaluate your players, something I was never too keen on. I'm gonna have to start getting into that I suppose to counter half of your ******** arguements.
  4. wait a second...something tells me that you guys arent talking baseball anymore........ lol
  5. Straight up I would obviously make that deal..but it would take more than that. What I was getting at though is that I would prefer to keep Melky out of a deal.
  6. I agree. As much as I like Peavy, it's ot worth what it would cost, considering he is a little bit overvalued. I mean hey, if we could get him for a lesser package then i'm all for it. I wouldn't even wanna trade Melky for him.... Won't happen though. Talks died quickly and I doubt they would be revived.
  7. Anyone remember a few years back after Toronto's uniform change to what it is now how they were considering dropping "Blue" from theirname? That would have been pretty bad.
  8. I dont understand why so many stadiums are having a capacity decline. If you ask me 30,000 is just too few. I understand they dont draw too well anyway, but a 30,000 capacity stadium doesnt give them much room for improvement. I'm not too big on the new Rays logos or jerseys. I mean, they're ok, but nothing special IMO. Working for the Rays NY-Penn League affiliate will be ifferent this year lol. We'll have that logo all over the ballpark, roving instructors wil be wearing those new jerseys..it'll be wierd lol.
  9. He didnt get booed at first.....
  10. I'm against instant replay in this game...except in this instance. I always thought that if instant replay were to be implemented that it be just strictly for these fair/foul HR scenarios. I don't have a huge problem with it.
  11. I love how everyone here is speaking so highly of JD. All of you Sox fans said how s***** he was gonna be after signing with the Yankees, and we've already started to see a decline. Don't get me wrong, I love Damon at the top of our order, but I do believe that we need to rid ourselves of one of our old, overpaid outfielders (to make room for Bernie on the bench haha) and geta solid 3B.
  12. I'll make that deal.
  13. That would be nice. So far we've got Rob Thompson (3B or Bench), Tony Pena (1B?) Kevin Long? and Paulie would be a nice addittion as well. I'm anxious to see who else we they get to fill out the staff.
  14. This is f***ing crazy. Is Kevin Long indeed going, I heard earlier that Girardi quickly got him on board to remain with the Yankees. Can somebody confirm either? I can see Mo going there but not Jorgie. But I think more likely Mo resigns and stays with us. We'll see though how things unfold.
  15. I understand your point, but it's not like we're talking about any player here, I mean it's Alex Rodriguez. He made a special exception so he could play for the Yankees, and now that he's not playing for the Yankees anymore I think if he wants to play SS he should be able to do so.
  16. Anybody gonna petition for a chance of my username?
  17. You know what I dont understand? Anywhere I hear A-Rod being talked about; ESPN, talk radio, online, etc. he's always marketed as a third baseman. For instance "He'd be a good fit ________ as they could give him the money and have a nice hole at third base." Now that he's not playing with Jeter, I think his best bet is to move back to shortstop, but seemingly that isn't the case. I forget the anchor's name off the top of my head, but on ESPNEWS' The Hot List they had a poll asking where A-Rod should play next year, and when revealing the results he said "x percent of you want to see A-Rod manning th hot corner for the Cubbies." With Aramis there why wouldn't the CUbs play A-Rod at short and move Ronny Cedeno to second? I have a feeling A-Rod will want to return to his position and reclaim his place as the best shortstop in the game.
  18. hahaha lol Watch Mattingly follow him out there (His son Preston is in the organization too), followed by A-Rod, Kevin Long, Mo........etc. lol
  19. If you guys wanna have yeszir or whoever change it feel free.
  20. Do so many people really believe that the Yankees WON'T contend next season? While I am disappointed in losing Mattingly (I dont mind Girardi at all, although I slightly preferred Mattingly), I think we'll be fine under Girardi. My biggest concern is how the (remaining) vets will respond to him. Hopefully all is well. I'm curious to get an idea of who will be joining the coaching staff.
  21. A few updates. Notably the Yankees signing 2 players from the IBL (Israel Baseball League), which just finished its inagural season. One of the players, 28 year old catcher Eladio Rodriguez is a former Red Sox prospect out of the Dominican Republic. http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20071024&content_id=2280813&vkey=pr_nyy&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy Also, Chris Snelling was picked up on waivers by the Devil Rays.
  22. That is NOT a deal I would want to make. Yes, Santana is the best pitcher in baseball right now, but considering the money he would be paid in addition to trading three young players making nothing who could play solid roles in this team. Wang and Melky already have, we've yet to see with Kennedy, but based on his starts this year I would rather hang on to him. I'd say to Terry Ryan, "Thanks, but no thanks."
