  1. It'd be nice to see a Rox/Sox World Series matchup. Somethign tells me that would be a GREAT series to watch
  2. Not much of a shock here. Hopefully he can do something good with them. They need it, thats for damn sure.
  3. Yeah, but Hal is the one who's in line after George I believe, right? ...Wow, a little surprised. I'll just reserve my comments for right now..
  4. I'm laughing because it goes back to a conversation I was having with a friend yesterday. He was saying how he would love to see Joba in the closers role if/when Mo leaves. I agreed that it would be great, but stated that I would prefer to see him go into camp as a starter like he is supposed to. When he asked me who would close then I half jokingly suggested that the Yankees sign Roger up for the job. The more I thought about it though, it didnt seem like a horrible idea. Let him go out there and give it his all for 1 inning a game. But this is only if he decides he wants ot pitch. I still stand by the notion that Rog' should finally hang 'em up and call it a career. If he doesnt, rather than letting him go back to Houston or somewhere else i'd prefer to see him in pinstripes. But based on this year, his ineffectiveness in the rotation, and his injuries it would be a disaster to bring him back to start, if he were to come back at all. idk...just one of those crazy ideas I flung out there. I dont look at it as remotely realistic or anything, just having some fun. I still think he should retire though.
  5. hahahaha and look where that almost got you.
  6. Wow...thankfully I didn't partake in this one. I remember reading it way back when, but I wanted to wait until mid-season or so before declaring....completely forgot about it.
  7. Well then if that's the case then you guys had no business beating us that year because as I recall Mo had a mishap or two. Correct? ..but I know what you're saying, we were lucky to get passed them that year. I vaguely remember a bad call or something that went our way in one of the games. Anyone? No, I don't think Girardi would do too well either n that aspect. I do however think that Don Mattingly would do a hell of a job. He seems to mesh well with all the players and they all look up to him. Plus he's got a Torre-like calm demeanor. Despite being considered the favorite to be the eventual successor for Torre for quite some time now, it seems over the past few weeks Mattingly has lost that distinction. I dont know if it's because of how soon Torre is leaving and that there would be concerns to whether or not Donnie's ready, or what the case is. But if you ask me I would go with Don Mattingly. That also leaves our coaching staff in place for the most part, rather than having a new skipper (i.e. LaRussa) bring in his own staff. Ronnie stays on as pitching coach, Long as hitting coach (I think he did an excellent job this year working with the players. People i've talked to say they like him a lot and he does a good job, especially with preperation), MAYBE move Bowa to the bench, but that's not even necessary. If that's the case though you could easily insert Robby Thompson in as the 3B coach, or even shift Pena over there if not bringing in someone else altogether (For some reason I have this feeling Pena might not be there anyway. I hope he is, as he also does a good job as catching instructor, but who knows at this point). Basically what i'm saying is if Mattingly got the job it would be a smooth transition from Joe to Donnie, rather than Joe to LaRussa or Showalter or someone. ...Call me crazy, but if not Donnie I wouldn't mind seeing Bobby V in pinstripes. Valentine has always been a favorite of mine, he knows NY, and I wouldn't mind the hilarious media sessions If LaRussa comes anywhere near this team however, it would not end up good. On th field he's as good as anyone, but there is NO WAY Tony LaRussa could handle being the manager of the New York Yankees.
  8. I say Webb wins tomorrow, but I have the Rox pulling another series win out of their magical hat of tricks.
  9. We'll trade you Waldman and a broadcaster to be named for Steiner.
  10. hahahahahahahahahahahahaahha ...that was really funny to me
  11. If not you, then me. I cant deal with your s***. Goodnight everybody. Lets go Rockies!!
  12. At this point i'd rather that, and watching the postseason from a neutral perspective than having to deal with this s*** every year. Enough is enough.
  13. What the f***!? What happened to this team we saw FIGHT all year?
  14. Well despite the series loss I can say I'm glad I was there last night. I'll always appreciate the fact that not only was I there for his 300th win, but also his last pitch thrown. Me and my friend were the only *******s in our section applauding Rog' when he walked off last night. To be there for his last start and get to see him walk off the mound for (hopefully) the last time is special. I'll always be thankful for the memories he gave me, and am so grateful he came back this year so that he could go out in pinstripes on the Yankee Stadium mound..the way it was supposed to be. f*** the rest of the team though...this is ********!!! I know this is the thread for yesterdays game...which was unbelievably frustrating to watch from the upper deck (0-2 clap, 1-2 clap, 2-2 clap, 3-2 clap, ball 4 sit down just to do it all over again), but idk what to do....what should I do? Why cant we win a f***ing series?
  15. Yo......why can't we just win a f***ing postseason series? It has been THREE YEARS, the 2004 ALDS against the Twins. That's ridiculous. I'm so angry right now but I cant even express any emotion, ive just been sitting here with a blank stare on my face. I just dont understand it. Why? WHY? WHYYYY? Peace Joe! I guess this is so long.
  16. I'm gonna throw s*** at the boys if we lose tonight. I'll be TIGHT!!! Hopefully I wont be witnessing ROger Clemenses last start ever tonight.

    TBS

I agree, I hate TBS coverage. Always have, even their Braves coverage up until this season. To think, that after how much I used to hate ESPN division series telecasts that I WISH ESPN had the games over TBS. And to think, we have every DS game and one CS. Plus all of their national coverage in the coming years. Hopefully they can improve things there. Give them the benefit of the doubt, they've been broadcasting playoff baseballfor a preeeeeety short while. Now that they dont have the Braves anymore they can devote a lot of attention to the quality of their coverage over the next what, seven years I believe.
  18. Correct me if i'm wrong, but its 10/4, right? October is the 10th month of the year. Tonight should be interesting. I wouldn't be surprised to see C.C. have a good-to-great start tonight. Heres hoping that if we do fall tonight, we can take it despite.
  19. Congrats Sox fans. In this day in age with the Wild Card, division titles get taken for granted sometimes, but it really is an accomplishment. Good luck the rest of the way...but not too much.
  20. I'm pretty happy. I've been pulling for the Rockies all season. Nice to see them do what the've done. Hopefully they can pull it off tomorrow.
  21. Was he really?? That's awesome.
