  1. I highly doubt it. Today was just to get him work. We have plenty of righties to get the righties out. I am pretty certain Joe doesnt use him to get righties out.
  2. Also, im pretty happy YES is adding another pre-game show to the schedule this year. In addition to YES' New York Yankees Pre-Game show, which airs half an hour prior to all games, YES will now have "Yankees BP Today" (Or something like that) where they air batting practice live, and interview players and whatnot. So now we're like NESN where we have an hour of pre-game coverage.
  3. OK, I was pretty impressed with todays game. Damon looked good at the plate, going 2 for 3, leading off the game with a double. Chacon looked good in his few innings, giving up a hit and a walk. Sean Henn didnt look great, but didnt look horrible either. Although giving up the 2-run homer didnt help him much. Myers didnt look very good at all, being that he gave up 5 3 runs. But he faced mainly righties, something that wont happen during the season. Andy Phillips looked good with that shot that put the Yankees ahead 3-2. Kevin Reese, though he didnt do anything too extraordinary, impressed me for some reason. Another person who I was VERY impressed with, despite giving up a Homer, was J. Brent Cox. He looked VERY good in his inning, as did Matt Smith, the young lefty reliever. Bernie looked a little uncoordinated in Right Field, although thats to be expected. Its not like he did a bad job, he did fine, but I expect him to get better at the corner position as the spring goes on. Kevin Thompson looked pretty good both in the field and at the plate, and would have looked good on the bases had he not been caught stealing (althogh replays show that it was a VERY close play, and Kenny SIngleton said that the tag never touched him. I, on the other hand cant make a descision based on the replay alone). Another point I want to make is how smoothe Cano looked in the field. And speaking of Cano, he has definately put on some muscle. And also, it looks to me as if his complection is a little bit darker (not that it matters, just an observation ) My hero, Michael Kay made two mistakes during the broadcast. Josh Kroeger, who played in the Diamondbacks organization last year, came up to bat for the Phillies and they showed his stats on the screen, and above them it said "2005 Triple A-Tuscan", and Kay says "this is what he did last year for Philadelphia's Triple A club in Tuscan." He should have known better, that Scranton-Wilkes Barre is the home of Pilly's Triple A affiliate, not Tuscan. And also, he kept pronouncing Matt Kata's last name "Kod-uh" when it is pronounced "Kate-uh", not that it matters, but I found it rather annoying Looking forward to tomorrow's game, although I probably wont see the entire thing (I have to go to school tomorrow, i've been out all week with an ear infection, but my doctors excuse expired today ) Ok, so thats all from me for today.
  4. Title is pretty self explanatory. This is the thread to discuss Yankees Spring Training, 2006.
  5. Thats what I meant, I watched the end of the second half Im used to NBA rules, used to saying quarters. But as far as rankings go, as of this second, isnt Duke number 1 still? Like SR said, until Monday. Right, homie?
  6. I absolutely agree. But thats the only reason I could think of. Maybe he just isnt capable of being a good second baseman. I remember he and Willie Randolph used to work together ALL THE TIME. I dont know what it is.
  7. I saw Curtis Silwa last year, dont know if he counts though.
  8. I Hate Ben Affleck. He's such a little girl. That, the fact that he's the celebrity spokesman of Red Sox Nation, and the fact that he was Banging J-Lo. OUR J-Lo. The Bronx's J-Lo. Scumbag! SHE WAS BEING BRAINWASHED!!!!!!!!!!!!! But ea, I remember watching an ESPN game one night a few years back (2003 I think) where the Red Sox were in Anaheim and JLo was wearing a Sox hat rooting for the Sox...horrible Lucky bastard. Only famous person I REMEMBER seeing at a Yankee game (off the top of my head), other than the players themselves, is Mick "Mankind" Foley. C'mon now! I'm sure i've seen others, but he just seems to stick out in my mind. idk man, there are a couple Yankee fans I would LOVE to smack in the face. But speaking of famous Sox fans, the on I CANNOT STAND, and DESPISE is Dennis Leary. I kinda like his comedy, I like him on that show about firefighters (hahaha the name of it escapes me right now), and I like some of his movies. But when it comes to his Red Sox fandom, I just wanna strangle him.
  9. Yes, I am lol
  10. Yea I know. I acknowledged that.
  11. Who are you talking about? Soriano or Cano?
  12. I didnt say that I want to go and get Sori back. I said if we DIDNT HAVE CANO I would want to get Sori back. He's better than Womack. But as it stands right now there is no room for him. No room in the infield, outfield, DH, no room anywhere.
  13. I only saw the 4th quarter, and it looked pretty exciting. I wasnt aware of the official's bad performance. And yea, i've watched the Tourney. Great stuff.
  14. The thing with Soriano (I think at least) is that he was converted to second base. If I recall correctly, he was a pretty good Shortstop (though I could be wrong). I dont think Cano is as bad as most people make him out to be, but he's definately not a very good defender. Hopefully in the coming years that changes. I saw improvement in him last year as the season went on (I guess all the work that he did with Sojo) and hopefully the improvement continues. I think Bowa will be a pretty big help to him this year.
  15. yea they are homie. What a game that was last night. I dont watch too much College Basketball (unless its Manhatten, St. Johns, or Fordham), but after watching last night, I think I may have to start.
  16. I would love to have Graf, but there is no room for him here, and the Sox and Yanks dont do deals. I've always liked Tony G and hope he ends up somewhere where he gets to play a lot.
  17. Um..no we wouldnt have. That was the only option. We practically robbed them in that deal (only giving up Soriano and a prospect with a low ceiling, plus all the money they picked up and defferred and stuff). Not trading Soriano would have been murder. I wouldnt mind having him..IF WE DIDNT HAVE CANO. He's a better option than Tony Womack (which is who would be there if we didnt have Cano). He can hit and run, and despite the fact that he is a free-swinger, is a great player. Because the Sox dont EVER run. But its not like he isnt capable.
  18. OK, I didnt want to start another thread for this, so I decided to throw it in this thread. For those of you Red Sox fans in the FSN North market (Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc.) or who have DirecTV, you can watch the Red Sox vs Twins tonight at 7. Just thought i'd throw that out there, seeing as how NESN isnt airing the game.
  19. What purpose would he serve to the Cubs?
  20. Correction, its not 9pm tonight, its 9pm tomorrow, and its Korea vs China. Tonight at like 2 or something, Korea vs Chinese Taipei (sp) will be on ESPN2 (Tape Delay, actual time of game is like 9:30, and it will be on ESPN DePortes) and at like 4, LIVE on ESPN tonight/tomorrow morning, Japan will be playing Chinese Taipei. But that still doesnt answer my UPN question. I'm so lost, and wish the WWOR webstie (upn9.com) would just explain it.
  21. If not as much, then more. But after RIvera made him look foolish that night, i've toned down. But Ortiz is still somebody that makes me cringe when I see him.
  22. I've definately noticed that side of Sori since leaving here. He was so much different though when he as here. He was a great teammate and great with the fans. Bitter about the trade I guess. If we didnt have Cano I would definately want the Yanks to go for him.
  23. What are you talking about? He is definately a 40 steals threat. in 2001 and 2002 he had over 40 steals. In 2003 he had 35, which is pretty close to 40 (qualifying him as a threat for 40). Since going to Texas, he has had 18 and 30 in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Now that's definately not because he has lost a step. I dont know the reason, but He is definately still capable of stealing at least 40 with his speed.
  24. 9 tomorrow. LIVE But like I said, idk if it's only WWOR, NY (UPN9, NY) or all UPN networks across the country. Can someone in Boston, or wherever check their guide's or TV listings and see if the local UPN channel will be airing baseball tomorrow.
