  1. Off topic from Team USA, but still having to do with the WBC. ESPN has the exclusive rights, however I was watching a show on UPN9 (WWOR, NY) and they advertised WBC games on UPN. Tomorrow their going to air Korea vs Chinese Taipea (sp) LIVE. ESPN however isnt airing it until like midnight. Whats the deal here? Does anyone know if UPN is airing all of the games? Something that ESPN wont be doing (ESPN DePortes however, will be. But I dont get it). And is this just here in NY, or does UPN in Boston, or anywhere else airing the games as well? Thanks
  2. I mean like, I wouldnt mind him if he were in the bullpen, but the Team USA rotation is definately not the place for Leiter.
  3. No surprise there at all.
  4. Should be fun. I cant wait. Thank god I have a horrible ear infection this week and stay home to watch the whole thing tomorrow. I hope to see either Frank Brooks or Danny Garcia get into the game tomorrow.
  5. Good luck to Al. He's gonna NEED it, thats for sure. I still cant believe we couldnt find a better starter to replace C.C.
  6. Exactly. Thats how Roger is, he's a hard ass but still fun loving at the same time. Some guys are ridiculous with this, thinking that he's really trying to hurt his kid and stuff.
  7. That kind of stuff gives me a warm, tingly feeling inside ...good question, I have no idea who's pitching thursday.
  8. I think this Red Sox team is going to mesh extremely well. You dont have too many big ego guys, you do however have a bunch of classy guys who want to win, and teach some of the younger players. I doubt guys like Coco and J.T. are going to have a hard time getting along with the Varitek's and Trot's of the clubhouse. I wouldnt worry about this one bit if I were a Sox fan.
  9. Worry about us. Fear us. Lose to us! I couldnt resist
  10. I dont think the writers vote either Mattingly or Rice in, but hopefully the veterans committee does when their eligible.
  11. I think you guys are thining too much into this, making Roger out to be some monster of a dad or something.
  12. Thanks MC.
  13. He was capable of hitting 40 at Yankee Stadium. Fenway is a little bit more friendly, maybe he can do it. And I dont know the dimensions of Ameriquest, but I suspect something against righties contributed. Though I am still confused as Ameriquest is one of the best hitting parks in the league.
  14. The beginning of his career was in New York (and then Anaheim). You mean to tell me that the heat on New York and the heat on Florida BOTH can cause blisters? If that's the case, then how come everybody is quick to say that Boston's heat won't do any harm to Beckett?
  15. I agree.
  16. Mee too I hated losing him in the Javy deal. I hated losing all 3 of those guys (Johnson, Juan RIvera, and Randy Choate, even though Choate isnt much of a player), actually.
  17. Nobody is getting Milledge for Soriano. If Omar wasnt willing to part with Lastings in a deal for Manny, why would he do it for Soriano? Trust me, if he was willing to make that deal, he would have a long time ago.
  18. Omar wouldnt do that, he's not stupid.
  19. Omar would NEVER do that. If he was willing to make that trade then he would have done it when Soriano was still in Texas. You guys are out of your minds.
  20. I mean like I dont think he would end up there, not that I dont think he'll approve it.
  21. I highly doubt Washington would give up Broadway for Wells. Boomers over 40 and has back problems. Definately shouldnt take Broadway. Washington would definately be a good fit for Boomer, but I dont think he'll go there.
  22. Willie Mo Pena would be a great fit for the Red SOx. He's one I wish we had hung onto.
  23. I admit last year was a mess with that situation. However are you going to deny that when he's on the field for us, he is always at his best? This man gives it his all and is so aggressive. Always displaying an admiral effort. Regardless of what you guys say, I believe that Sheffield is a gamer.
  24. Who interfere with the game and his personal space.
