  1. lol Lucky for him we suffered some injuries. If not he would be headed for Columbus due to the fact that the other 12 guys have guaranteed contracts and he still has an option year.
  2. Doesnt look like it, used the same thing again today. This is the 4th different scoreboard thingy they have used since the station debuted in 2002. First was the original (2002), second was the original but with a smaller YES logo (2003-2004), third was the one used last year, with more rounded edges (2005) and now the bar (2006). Pick one and stay with it, Fillipelli.
  3. Good game today. FUn to watch. Unfortunately Matt Smith blew the 1 run lead in the 9th and we lost. Very pleased with what we're breaking camp with. Now off to Arizona for a 2 game exhibition set with the DBacks and then off to Oakland for the start of a long journey to number 27.
  4. According to Victor Conte, he never gave performance enhancers to Bonds and can provide evidence proving that the book is full of lies. Sorry, no source, saw it on ESPNEWS' bottom line.
  5. Damn. I wanted to see
  6. They also did predict several things that were right. They have good sources over at that site. When I first started looking there I gave them absolutely no credit for anything, but over time I think they're pretty credible. Interesting to see what the Twins do, if anything.
  7. ahh, I see. Well it sounded like a good idea when it was initially brought up and something I would have definately been looking forward to doing. Oh well.
  8. He will. He wanted to come over this year I believe, but the Lions didnt want to post him. So since he'll be able to next year without the consent of his team, he will definately be coming over.
  9. He already lives in New York. So lets revive it. Sounds like it would be a great idea. Lots of fun.
  10. Its going to be interesting what happens with Matsuzaka next year. Matsuzaka is like the Roger Clemens, if you will, of NPB. He's the top, elite starter over there and has been very good the last few years. No way does Seibu win the Nippon Series two seasons ago if not for him.
  11. ANybody who watched the game notice the new YES scoreboard? Appearantly YES has decided to switch from the Scoreboard box/diamond that they have in the top left hand corner in favor of the horizontal bar at the top of the screen that a lot of networks, most notably FOX is using now. I absolutely hate the bar...why John Fillipelli, why?
  12. all cleared now
  13. lol i'll stop
  14. He's in Florida
  15. Halsey's a starter. He pitched some good games for us before we traded him, and was decent for Arizona last year. I hope to see him pitch at the stadium this year.
  16. I think this is a good move for KC. I am probably one of very few who thinks KC has a good team and could possibly compete. This offseason they went out and spent, picking up veterans like Reggie Sanders, Mientkiewicz, Grudzialanek (sp), Redman, Elarton, etc. With the mix of youth, and the addition of the veterans they added I think that they could be a good team and possibly even compete. But everyone will have to perform at their best. Especially the pitching staff. Guys like Elarton and Redman need to earn those salaries they're getting.
  17. I knew I shouldnt have posted my intentions of picking him up Anways, how is the waiver wire determined?
  18. I was pretty sure i'd be able to go. But I just couldnt. Still felt like s*** from my surgery. Sorry. But Rick knows how bad I feel.
  19. I cant believe that somebody would ACTUALLY drop Kevin Millwood in favor of Craig Hansen. I mean, I understand that you guys are all Red Sx fans, but come on. Thank You, kreinbihl34, you just helped me strengthen my pitching staff!
  20. what do you want for him?
  21. How is it an upgrade? Renteria is twice the player A-Gone is.
  22. I dont think i've ever seen somebody use the word rookie as much as he did. But I do see what he is saying. But I also agree with HHM that there really isnt much more that could have been done. But yes, Lowell had a bad offensive year last year, and very possibly could have another bad year. Gonzalez os a bad offensive player, but his glove is very good. But same was said about Renteria, but look how the Fenway infield treated him. But I still expect him to be the usual Alex Goinzalez with the glove. Lorretta, since becoming a starter a few years ago has proved that he could play the game. But I dont think he is as much a given as you guys think. He still needs to prove himself in a pressure environment. But I think he'll be fine. But as for Youkilis, he is inexperienced, and new to this position. You guys seem like you are positive he will be fine and everything will be ok. I agree that he should do fine, but its not a given, he still needs to get some more experience in the bigs, and at first base under his belt. I understand why you would be concerned, JRS. But I think the Red Sox infield will be fine.
  23. I am pretty sure there was more. I distinctively remember reading something like "you said the Yankees would want to trade Mussina if he slips, and he would have to slip for them to make them want to trade him"..or something like that. I had a big reply written out but was unable to post it. Whatever though. And ok, I stand back on my cablevision arguement. However, I wish I could find some articles talking about the conflict back in 2002. There was a lot of financial differences involved. However, appearantly that is irrelevent to you guys until I get some more details.
  24. OK, this thread has gotten really out of hand. If someone wished to move the post to another thread i'll continue the Mussina/YES discussions, but i want to try to get this thread back on topic....so back to Yankee talk. This kid Luis Garcia thats been hitting pretty well the last few days. Who is he? I've never heard of him. Is he in our system, or did we just recently sign him? This isnt the Luis Garcia that was playing for Mexico in the WBC, is it? I mean, I know he wasnt signed with a MLB organization and was in the Mexican league. Did we sign him? This kid has looked pretty good.
