  1. didnt you apply as well? Have they gotten back to you at all? He's had no problem having Tanyon set up for Mo in the past. If he wanted to give Gordon a day off or if Tanyon was hot or something. In fact, Tanyon was the 7th inning guy last year, until he hit that slump.
  2. Because some teams do that. They might feel that they can turn him around, or that he's worth the gamble becaus epossibly he could give them what they need to make it further than they would have. Examples: Yankees-Loaiza Red Sox-Suppan Giants-Ponson etc. A team lacking pitching that is trying to make a serious run might be willing to send a few prospects and take a chance. Teams like the Tigers, or the Twins or something. Seattle, the Mets, Phillies, etc. Its not out of the realm of possibility.
  3. Hey man, you can go through all of my posts. There is no denying that I have no problem giving a Red Sox player, and the Red Sox organization in general, credit when they deserve it. I think i'm pretty fair when I talk SOx. When the Sox make a good pickup I praise Theo and the organization. When the Yankees make a good pickup you're quick to point out the guys flaws. You're just so anti-Yankee its ridiculous. The same cant be said about me and the Sox. Why dont you go hate the Phillies instead of us, and root for your Pirates and jump off the Sox bandwagon.
  4. Right, right. COmpletely forgot about those guys. You're right. My mistake.
  5. The Sox havent really picked up too many Asian players. Only ones that come to mind are Nomo, Denney Tomori, Kim, and now Choi.
  6. Wasnt a perfect game for Nomo. Just a No Hitter. But everything else is dead on. Seems like after he was traded by the Cubs he didnt do as well. The potential and ability is still obviously there, and with a coach like Jackson, and a park like Fenway I am confident he can still become a VERY good player. Very good pickup. I absolutely praise Theo on this one.
  7. You still dont get it man. Its not even worth arguing with you anymore. You're blinded by your hate for the Yankees abd your love for the Red Sox. Edit: oops..thanks Moose
  8. Hideo Nomo pitched a No-No for you guys.
  9. Way to avoid the question. I never said they did, but had they, would you be crying roid rage? Probably not, but because Sheffield wears pinstripes 81 games a year thats a different story. ..and Sheff didnt go into the stands. Look at the video. He remained ON THE FIELD the entire time. It wasnt as innocent as someone's hand passing his face. The guy swattedat the f***ing ball. But I love how its justified in the Red Sox' case. If you're pumped, working out hard or playing basketball or baseball or whatever, and I come in and try to f*** with you while you're doing it, there is a pretty good chance your reaction would involve pushing me out of the way out of anger and frustration, and not thinking it through before doing it due to the adrenaline rush. I love how one-sided everything is to you.
  10. What would be your arguement had it been Jaque Jones, or Emil Brown, or Jay Gibbons, Joey Gathright? Also, if Sheffield actions there are roid rage, then I think it would be fair to call Varitek's actions roid rage. I know when somebody says "f*** You!" to me, my first reaction isnt to push them in the face, I verbally assault them first until it escalates. So maybe Tek was showing some roid rage there, huh? If thats the case with Sheff then it's the case with Tek as well. but the correct answer for both incidents is ADRENALINE. Havent you every played sports? You never got an adrenaline rush?
  11. wow...what a nightmare this situation has become
  12. I agree. Something is definately wrong. ------ mtbykr, do you have the book? you refer to it a lot , so I am curious. I was going to pick it up thursday, but was in a rush and didnt get a chance to make it to the book store. Good read?
  13. This is a good waiver pickup. Surprised LA let him go like that. If Youk or Snowflake get off to a bad start, then Choi will be a very good replacement.
  14. Don't get me wrong man, and i think I said this (could be wrong, dont feel like going back to check my post right now), but of coarse it bothers me. I'm not happy about it. But there isnt anything we could do about it right now that would change anything today. He wont be using this year, so thats important. HOwever, in now way am I at all happy about this. I've lost a lot of respect for the man, not only for using the steroids, but for committing perjury as well. But from a baseball standpoint, THIS YEAR, he'll be clean, unless he gets caught, obviously. Thats my main focus going into the season.
  15. OK, so please "Mr. I Hate EVERYTHING Pinstripes", tell me how you would have reacted under the circumstances? Granted he didnt react the best way, but he's intense and with all of the adrenaline and whatnot, the reaction is understandable. But because it was the Yankee RFer and not say, Jaque Jones or something, it's a sign of roid rage and not frustration. f***ing grow up. There is no concrete, government evidence on Sheffield. All he has is this book. His testimony says that he didnt know. The only thing really damaging to him is this book. Which dont get me wrong, is probably true, but if we're talking PROOF, this is not it. If this were to be brought up in court, nothing would happen to him based on this book alone.
  16. f***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night absolutely DESTROYED me!!!! All of my Final 4 teams are gone except Villanova, so I NEED them to beat BC. But it's not looking good for me in general. Damnit!!!!
  17. And sorry guys. Didnt mean to bring it up again, but since it was already posted about today I figured it wouldnt hurt.
  18. Heyman wasnt serious. He was just throwing it out there in a frustrated manner due to the frustration the two clubs were experiencing with their respective players. He knows that it would never happen, and didnt say it would. Jon Heyman is a very well respected baseball writer and very credible when it comes to the Hot Stove. I cant believe anybody thought he was seriously suggesting it.
  19. I didnt see the article with the labor agreement of '91. Do you have a link? Sounds interesting. And Game of Shadows hasnt PROVEN anything. Although it is a reliable source and all of us here believe it, it is far from proven.
  20. ORS, I wasnt rationalizing ANYTHING. In no way was I trying to rationalize it. I just dont believe he did as a Yankee. Last year we had testing. He didnt test positive. And with all of the speculation going around in 2004 I doubt he would be stupid enough to do it then too. And dont forget we did have a tetsing policy in 2004, however flawed it was. I was reffering to Sheff. Didnt Giambi admit that he started using while in Oakland? I know he didnt hook up with Greg Anderson until he signed with the Yankees (that winter), but he definately was using while in Oakland.
  21. you're right. I mean, there isnt any proof, but there is a reliable source. However, they could be wrong, and hopefully they are. I doubt it, but possible. Im not happy that one of our players was using, but he's not now, and probably never did as a Yankee, and thats what matters right now.
  22. Um...it's not just New Yorkers that proclaim it that, thats a common nickname for New York. The media, food, diversity, culture, financial (etc) capital of the world.
  23. I f***ing hate the Colts.
  24. Serioiusly? Thats pretty cool.
