  1. I love Soriano, but dont get me wrong. It is absolutely ridiculous that he isnt willing to move. However, why on earth would Bowden trade Wilkerson (argueably the franchise player), Sledge, and the pitching prospect for a guy who play sa position that they are already set at. And the dumbest part is they didnt even talk to Sori beforehan. They just expected him to move. Thats like the Yankees trading for Guerrero and saying "go catch." Sori, stick it out, play Left Field, hit the market and come to the Mets and play second or come back HOME and DH.
  2. From Another Site: ..that kid rules! And in a later post the guy goes on to say that former Yankee Marcus Thames got a good laugh out of it.
  3. I was unaware. Thanks. If he's doing bad then what sense would it make to keep him around? I hope so. I'd love for him to retire a Yankee, but if he has a bad year that just wont be the case.
  4. Well when the media asks him about his thoughts on what the SOx are doing, he's going to comment. It would just be better to say "no comment, i'm over here now" but that's not the case. Are you calling New York a toilet? So now, the greatest city in the world is a toilet?
  5. Correct. Because A) I DID in fact make reference to the Yankees' fanbase in my post which you quoted, and I dont know how I could get through the vigors of my day without telling myself that. Because it really matters to me that much. But hey, I see what you're saying with the Boomer comparrison. Makes sense. So it's cool for you guys to boo Damon because he came to the Yanks, but we're bad guys for booing Wells? bro, half of this huge, worldwide Sox fanbase only jumped on board after winning the hearts of all following their 2003 ALCS loss. Thats when this whole Red Sox Nation ******** really got underway. I think it's safe to say that you guys have just as many fair-weather fans, if not more. Thanks What are you talking about? Ever since Boston became America's team we have been fighting for positive media recognition. Everyone HATES us! And ESPN, oh forget it! I'm sure back in the '80's they did.
  6. I still praise Javy and Lilly. I dont necessarily praise Weaver and Brown, but i've always liked Brown (and yes, you can go back and check all of my posts, I have always taken that stand) due to his competitive nature, and I dont necessarily dislike Jeff Weaver, Just wish he gave us a little more. Well perhaps he had some interest in possibly winning this year. Doesnt look like that will be the case for him, however. Including Johnny Damon, so if Sox fans are going to play that hand for the Arroyo situation, then why take a different stance when it comes to Damon.
  7. Hahah you mean Whoopie Goldberg with braces? I used to love seeing New Yorker, and Yankee fan Max Kellerman rip on Holley on i,Max
  8. Thats right. Forgot about that. But I thought that they DIDNT retire Boggs' number at Wade Boggs nught last year? I would add him, but he never played an actual game for the Yankees. I wish I was able to get a list of guys who played in both ORGANIZATIONS, however I dont, and probably never will. So it wouldnt be right to put some (Carl Everett, Wily Mo, etc) and not have others. So my list has to consist of players who have played a Major League game with both teams.
  9. Good question. But the answer is because we knew he was the s*** and that's what it took to get him rather than him going somewhere else . There is definately something wrong when a shortstop who was a part of your team for 3 months gets more love and respect after leaving than a center fielder who was there for 4 years, and evolved into one of the game's premier players in that time. Thats why Sox leave for the Yanks, and have things to say afterwards.
  10. Obviously I understand that he's getting older and everything. My post was more of a rant of frustration rather than questioning why. I mean, it is that too, but not completely. He is still capable of throwing the 3-hit, complete game shutout..just not as frequently. And it's frustrating that he has so many bad performances. As much as it would hurt because I love Mussina, I wouldnt be surprised if he was traded before July 31. I'm sure there will be some team making a playoff run that'd be willing to give up a good prospect or 2.
  11. OK well i'm obviously a little late on this one, but I figured i'd chime in anyways. When I first heard yesterday afternoon I wanted to run on here and talk about it with you guys, however my computer hasnt been working. Anyways, this trade is a very interesting one to me. It's going to be extremely weird seeing Arroyo anywhere other than Boston. He, and his personality fit very well up there and he has grown to become a huge fan favorite. On the other hand, a GREAT deal by Theo. This trade sucks for Yankee fans, because the addition of Wily Mo (formerly Yankee property) will only lead to good things for the Sox. This guy can play all 3 OF positions (as well as gonna possibly learn some 1B, I heard today), has a rocket of an arm, and has good raw power. Once he learns to balance everything and becomes a smarter player, he's going to be a STAR. This is definately on the positive side for the Sox. Dammit!!! Why did we have to trade him?! And, DAMMIT Bowden, why couldnt you bring him to Washington with you last year to avoid him going to Boston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Got a uniform number for me? 26 still?
  13. I meant to ge on yesterday to talk about this, however my VERY EXPENSIVE Sony computer has been giving me a hard time the past few days. So while it's getting worked on I rented this one for the week. ...Anyways. What's the deal with Moose? I mean, I like Mussina, and always have, but he needs to step it up. Last year wasnt a good one for him, and now in his contract year (or option year rather) he's not off to a good start. I can only hope that for his sake, and for my sake, along with every other Yankee fan, as well as the Yankees, that he gets better and steps it up this year and shows that he's still capable of being the great pitcher we know him to be. We saw it on occasion last year, we just need to see more of it this year. I'm pullin for ya Mike!
  14. As a matter of fact..
  15. freetranslation is a pretty bad site. Not very good translations. Now for my opinion on this signing. ..I think it's a good one. The guy could mash them in his day, and if somebody goes down it wouldnt hurt to bring him up to Boston for a little to see if he can help out for a little while while the other guys is down. In fact, I wanted the Yankees to sign him. We shall wait and see though.
  16. Nobody said he was guaranteed a spot on the team. However, he is under contract with the team. Clay, he cant field anymore. another person wishing injuries on people? I hope you twist your ankle walking down stairs or some s***.
  17. I was just thinking about this last night, and ironically I wake up to see it in the Boston Globe as well. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2006/03/19/in_praise_of_an_instant_classic/ This kid is amazing, and I really hope he, along with some others defect. I have been saying that since before the tourney, and so far no defections ..but maybe soon However, it is unlikely the Yanks would get him just because they have no room for him, unless he, or Cano wants to make a switch to the outfield or something. Gourriel would likely play this coming season in the Minors anyway. But how great would it be to get him out of Cuba
  18. So I predicted 75% of the Final 4 and now 100% of the Finals prior to the tournamnet. And honestly, these are the two teams I wanted to see. The two baseball powerhouses that are somewhat mysteries to casual American baseball fans. Sure to make for a hell of a game. And also happens to be an Olympic rematch of 2000 semi-finals (which Cuba won). But after seeing what I saw of Korea in this tournament I definately look at Korean baseball in a different sense. I always looked at them as Japan wannabe's until watching them in this tournament. I cant wait to see what they have in store for us in 2009.
  19. So because he came out for precautionary reasons he's not 100%? I mean, we dont even know if this will effect him at all this year.
  20. Hansen is on St. Johns
  21. When I first read this thread I thought of her lol. I was thinking "didnt some girl get banned for something similar" haha
  22. damn..i wish the guy in my league was shopping A-Rod lol
  23. lol I can still see those balls leaving Yankee Stadium
  24. Whats the extent of the injury? How much time will he miss?
