  1. Yeah, it was good to see the old guys from last year before the season started. Road Trip wont be the same without them Right. I mean, I can understand last night against Zito, I just hope thats not what's done every night.
  2. If you go 0-0 with 4 walks, or even 0-0 with 3 walks and a Sacrifice then it's not counted against you. You have to have an AB in the game and not get a hit for it to be ended. No source, just going by prior knowledge. However, I am absolutely CERTAIN.
  3. ahh, Wee Willie Keeler. A fine Yankee from the pre-glory days. It's a shame you guys beat us out for the 1904 pennant, it'd be interesting how Yankee history played out. They probably would have been more respected rather than being looked at as the poor welfare case.
  4. Ripkens streak lasted over multiple seasons. I'm pretty sure somebody cares about that one.
  5. Any reason that YS and Cityofchampions have the same avatar other than to confuse people?
  6. No kidding. And for you, I will provide the same answer I provided with everybody else who said that. If he didnt feel it, he wouldnt have said it. a) He initially wasnt asked if he had a preference as to which cap he wore, he stated it on his own. After that the questions came. and b)had someone asked him that initially, he could have just said something like "that's irrelevent, the choice is not up to me. He wouldnt say it if he doesnt mean it. Now, to my knowledge, he hasnt stated, since leaving the Yankees, that he wants to go into the Hall as a Yankee, but that doesnt mean anything because there has been no need to bring it up. He has however had no problem sharing with others that he still has strong feelings towards the organization and all of the people in it, and never has anything negative to say. I believe that his words were genuine when he said that. ...and yes, I realize i'm late with this. This is the first i'm seeing this post Interesting, I hadnt caught that.
  7. I think Giambi should switch with Sheffield, just to mix it up lefty/righty-wise.
  8. OK. You'll see.
  9. Jeter is a good bunter and has had no problem bunting in the past despite big bats behind him. A-Rod can bunt, but that would be a ridiculous move to have him bunt. But bench players, such as Crosby and Phillips, when in the lineup can bunt, and sacrifice and whatnot. What I was saying is that this team wont rely solely on the big Home Run like last year, we're going to mix it up a little bit this year. This team will be better at moving runners over, driving guys in, sac flying, sac bunting, etc.
  10. I've heard good things about Tejada, and he looked pretty good when I watched him pitch last year. But the thing I like about this deal is the fact that Dellucci is out of the AL. He is an underappreciated, underrated player who could possibly drive in 85-100 runs if he were batting say 5, rather than 1 and 2 like he has the past few years.
  11. For you guys, perhaps.
  12. My mistake, I understand what you meant now. Definately, especially after this spring.
  13. OK, so you're calling me a liar, and saying that all of the "small ball" played by the Yankees this spring is a fantasy? I mean seriously, your post doesnt make sense, I wasnt predicting something, I was analyzing something that has already begun to happen. Now obviously they wont be a "small ball" team, its just that they'll play small ball more often than they have in recent years.
  14. I cant stand the fact that you Sox fans think your pitching is a lot better than ours. Your pitchig was HORRIBLE last year. Everybody was hurt or bad. Same for us, even though I think ours was better based on the fact that our ace stayed healthy the entire season (and won 17 games), and we had some guys come and step up huge for us, and also the fact that our closer was healthy all year. Its extremely hypocritical to say that you expect your guys to have good comeback season but to say that ours, because a lot of guys were hurt last year, will be bad this year. Thats complete ********. And Schilling isnt? Johnson didnt miss a start last year and was pretty damn good down the stretch. Not to mention the 17 wins. What are you talking about man? Do you really think that Sean Henn will make the Yankees? You're completely ignorant and out of your mind if you do. Not to mention the fact that you obviously dont follow baseball very much, otherwise you would know that we have plenty of other guys already in front of Henn. I dont care how many people he strikes out, as long as he has that sinker going and can get those groundball outs. lmao
  15. Taking back the east? When the hell did you have it. It's been 10 years since you guys have had the east. I think we can win more than that.
  16. You're a Red Sox fan, right? That is the best thing a Red Sox fan has EVER said. You rule in my book.
  17. yea. This spring we've seen a lot of small ball and manufacturing runs. Great to see. Thats how we played during the championship run, and hopefully playing that way this year will translate to number 27 But this was an exciting game, despite ending in a 3-3 tie. So we finish the spring 14-15-1 (or maybe its 15-16-1, not positive lol) On to Oakland!!
  18. oops Yeah, I agree. If he was hurt really bad he wouldnt have pitched the other day. When I read that the other day I felt terrible for him and his family. My prayers are with them. So he likely won't make the opening day roster. I think it would be a bad idea to replace him with, as much as I love him, Ramiro Mendoza. Since he is a non-roster invitee we would have to DFA somebody to make room on the roster, and then when the injured guys are healthy and are ready to be activated we would have to DFA Ramiro, and take the risk of losing him. Now i'm sure that he would agree to go to AAA if he isnt claimed off of waivers, but there is a good chance that he IS claimed. Maybe Matt Smith or DeSalvo would be a better option.
  19. Did I call this one or did I absolutely call this one. I've been HOTTTTT with my predictions last few months. Only thing I didnt do so hot with was the NCAA tourney, but hey, who did? Anyways, the Yankees opening day roster looks like... Starters C- Jorge Posada 1B- Jason Giambi 2B- Robinson Cano SS- Derek Jeter 3B- Alex Rodruguez LF- Hideki Matsui RF- Gary Sheffield CF- Johnny Damon Bench IF- Andy Phillips IF- Miguel Cairo OF- Bubba Crosby C- Kelly Stinnett C- Wil Nieves Starting Rotation Randy Johnson Mike Mussina Chien-Ming Wang Shawn Chacon *Jaret Wright Bullpen Scott Proctor Ron Villone Mike Myers Tanyon Sturtze Kyle Farnsworth (The Great) Mariano Rivera *= Will start when a fifth starter is needed. So basically, Wright will split the duties as fifth starter and long reliever. I have a great feeling about this year.
  20. He did. At least according to the article about it in the Daily News.
  21. I agree with that.
  22. yeah lol...most of the time it does it automatically for some reason :/
  23. Also, since there are free spots due to the injuries I wouldnt be surprised to see Wil Nieves make the team. He is out of options ans would have to be outrighted and clear waivers to remain in the organization. IDK what the odds of him doing that are, so I could see Torre and Cash keeping him on the big league roster until we need to send him down to make room for an injured player.
  24. Just for the record, I want my boy Joey D to hold this hitting streak record for a LONG, LONG time.
  25. My feeling is quite the opposite. You need to be on a pretty hot streak to hit in 56 straight. Having 5 months, plus all of March for Spring Training off, that kinda tampers with your hot streak. Makes it difficult. You start off the second season cold and everything. I think doing it over a period of 2 seasons is more remarkable than doing it in one.
