  1. A) I disagree that Beckett is better than Willis. B ) Yes, it took all of that to get Beckett, but also take into account that in addition to Beckett, Mike Lowell, an All Star Gold Glove third baseman, and Mota, one of the top setup men in the game.
  2. Wow. Good for Bronson. I've always kinda liked Bronson, but never really could express it before the trade. Good to se he's turning into an offensive powerhouse
  3. Good stuff! I was worried after we blew the initial lead, however Big, Bad Bernie and El Capitan come through big for us. And then of coarse Mo get sit done (although I was on the edge of my seat after Sweeney got hit and there were 2 runners on with 1 out). Also, I love YES' new on-field coverage. Thats something we've never really seen before, but John Flaherty works good in that role. And Jeter seems to like him a lot too Lets get a 3 game winning streak going!
  4. We could just maybe send over a Tyler Clippard, some lower level guys, and some cash. That might get it done. Especially if it only takes you guys Lester and Moss to do the deal.
  5. Andy Pettitte perhaps?? ..nah, that would be no fun. We'd win that one for sure.
  6. ALCS? Willis all the way.
  7. Good deal for the Cubs. And I cant say I mind from a Yankess standpoint either. We all know that if Lee hit the market George and Brian would have been all over him. I would rather have Eric DUncan come up and be a mainstay for years to come than go out and spend big money on Derek Lee. So this works for me, the Cubs, Lee and Eric Duncan. Way to go Hendry.
  8. ZWell at least somebody enjoys that aspect of their commentary. I cant stand them. I was watching the game yesterday and I dont remember all of the details and who it was, btu they were mis-pronouncing guys names and said one guy played for a team he never played for, and it was just horrible IMO. I hate watching them. Granted, when he's serious, Jerry Remy is a good baseball man who I can listen to. Like during an interview or something. However, during a game I just cant stand him. Eck and Rice dont do every game, correct? I only see them in there sometimes. I usually always see Tom Carron (sp), who I ABSOLUTELY hate and would love to find in an alley and beat his ass, and that guy from the Boston Globe (His name escapes me at the moment). I like Bob Lorenz, but I liked Fred Hickman MUCH better. However Bob Lorenz is GOD compared to Tom Carron. I dont care what anybody says. TC always has something negative to say about the Yankees regardless of who the Sox are playing that day, and he always has that smirk on his face. I just hate that guy!!!!! But I love watching Lorenz on the pre and post game shows. Especially when David Justice, Bobby Murcer, or whoever else is a co-anchor. Great coverage.
  9. Who has good pitching and sucks? Not us. I'm pretty sure our offense showed that today. I think its ridiculous that you guys can say we suck based on 6 GAMES!!! Get serious. We'll see who's talking come October.
  10. Not necessarily. If that were the case then why not just give the award to the innings pitched leader every year. Cy Young is supposed to go to the best pitcher in each league. Mariano Rivera definately falls under that category when it comes to the American League and 2005. He went forever without blowing a save. Practically never gave up a run (I dont remember the exact number but he had a nice little scoreless streak going). Pitched in the high-pressured atmosphere of what is Yankee baseball, where every game means something. Factoring all of that in with the fact that last year was Mo's best season, and the fact that he was just completely dominate over everybody with the exception of the Red Sox in the first week of the season gives him the award in my book. I didnt. I made my arguement plenty of times in other threads. Not going to go through it all again here. She didnt say that. It was just a little fact that she wanted to point out. Nothing major, no need to get into an uproar over it.
  11. Relievers winning the Cy Young is a lot more common than DHs winning MVPs. Eckersly and Gagne come to mind. But when I try and try, I fail to think of an MVP/DH. You mean that lefty who everybody forgot about for the first few months of the season and who pitched meaningless games for the s***** Twins?
  12. Mariano Rivera, Baby!
  13. We've been pretty good moving runners over today, and idk if you missed it but Cairo did lay down a Sac Bunt. Why are you guys so bitter about us winning today?? Grow up.
  14. Oh Yeah! Bring on Estee (Esteban Yan)!!
  15. You're wrong. Kay is as critical towards the Yankees as anybody else, if not more because of the expectations. If you listened to him on a regular basis on YES and his radio show you would see how good a job he does putting his love for the Yankees growing up aside now that he is in his position. And of coarse his HR call is going to be more enthusiastic for Yankee Homers than opponents' homers. Jerry Remy and DOn Orsillo are the same way, i'm sure. In fact, I know.
  16. We havent sucked balls. Granted we havent done everything right, we havent sucked balls. The pitching has been good. We just havent gotten the hits when we needed them and the defense was shakey. ..ant btw, I was looking at the bright side. Nobody said that starting 1-4 means you're going to win 114. Just trying to be positve. lol
  17. Good inning. Very good to see. Whats the deal with Phillips not getting any playing time? I mean dont get me wrong, nobody loves Cairo more than I do, but Phillips had a great spring. Considering Joe NEVER used Cairo at first back in 2004 its interesting to see all the playing time he's gotten there this spring and now during the season. But Cairo did lay down the nice Sac Bunt
  18. Havent made my way to the TV yet. Lineups anybody?
  19. Yeah right, you're outta your mind I think all of our Emmys tell a different story. Especially in a market with 4 Regional Sports Networks. NESN's only competition is FSN New England. The Yankees Pre-Game is great, but the BPTV show that they air as the first half of their hour-long pre-game coverage needs some work. So I have to give Pre-Game coverage to NESN. I think both the Post-Games are about equal. The YES in-game production is second to none IMO. We have the best camera-men in the business IMO. And then the networks in general, YES has way more Yankee-oriented programming than NESN has Red Sox programing. Granted, YES made a horrible mistake by deciding to add that show "Running" to their program schedule, but nothing is worse than Charlie Moore Outdoors and half that other s*** they put on up there in NESN. In my honest opinion, bias aside, I think YES is better. But NESN is HBO compared to SNY. Like a caller on Mike and the Mad DOg earlier this week said, "It looks like they run that station from a High School AV room." Outside of METS games, not a very impressive network. Although I do like watching METS Weekly, they do a good job on that. But Ice Skating and the other s*** they put on is horrible. Say what you want, but i'll take YES over NESN anyday. I'll even take MSG over NESN, but thats a different arguement. When YES had Waldman doing the pre and post game shows, NESN couldnt touch us. Blame our decline on Kimberly Jones. However the Yankees Pre-Game Show is amazing, despite Kimberly Jones' presence. ...and for all you Kay haters, you SUCK! Michael Kay is the man!
  20. LMAO ..Thats great
  21. Hey, 2003 we started off 20-4. That was a hell of a start. But hey, lets look at the bright side. 1998 the Yankees get off to a 1-4 start, and as we all know go on to win 114 games that year As if the win/loss records arent overrated. Everybody knows that he was the second best, if no THE best pitcher in the National League that year. He and ROger finished 1-2 in the Cy Young voting. It's not Randy's fault that the Arizona Diamondbacks sucked balls that year.
  22. He may have won the award last year, but we all know that the Cy Young award belonged to Rivera OK Yankees, time to get our heads out of our asses. ANybody else think Koyie Hill should get the start behind the plate today? haha
  23. You hear correctly.
  24. OK guys. We NEED to win. This is getting ridiculous. Time to start winning. We have a long season ahead of us and digging ourselves a hole to get out of, like last year, is not the way to go. Lets get our heads out of our asses and take care of business.
