  1. He'll be back this year, in fact within the next 7 days. He's talked about how much he wants to get back out there and help the team. Pctavio is a competitive guy, i'm sure he's not doggin it with the thought "i'm getting paid regardless" in mind. If that was the case he would still be pitching extended Spring Training (if that's still going on) or in rookie ball.
  2. Yes, you're right. I did interrupt a discussion regarding steroids in baseball, but only because it was the perfect opportunity to exploit the fact that you guys are all complete hypocrites. Not one of you guys took it upon yoursleves to bash Paxton Crawford. I would be willing to bet my life that if Alex Graman, or Brandon Knight, or Sterling Hitchcock did what Paxton Crawford did us Yankee fans here at talksox would never hear the end of it. That's all I was trying to do, point out how ridiculous some of you guys can be at times. As for your hatrid for "everything in pinstripes and everything about anyone that wears or roots for pinstripes"; I think it's time for you to find a hobby or something. In other words, get a f***ing life.
  3. You're right, not this upcoming series, but soon. He's been pitching rehab in Columbus for a while, and was with the Yankees in Philly this weekend on his way to Trenton to due a little bit more rehab. He should be in New York if not for the end of this series, for the start of the next one.
  4. Damn, personal comments? You don't even know the guy, relax man. Speaking of instability, you fitthat description quite well. You're feelings towards the Yankees (not even going to call it hatrid, because what you have towards the Yankees is way beyond hatrid), you're constant contradictingof yourself (bashing Yankee steroid users, but saying its no big deal when Paxton Crawford admits to using), the hateful feelings you develop for a person (Riv) from a f***ING MESSAGE BOARD! Relax man, no need to get so damn worked up because you didnt agree with a particular poster.
  5. Octavio Dotel coming back for this upcoming series should help the pen. Hopefully Joe doesnt kill him too.
  6. So are admitting that you're a hypocrite?
  7. Not that i'm pushing for Cashman to go out and get Smolts, because i'm not (though I wouldnt mind having him); i'm sure he could pull something off. I dont know what, but Cashman is a very good GM who is capable of making some big moves.
  8. I must be honest, this is a good move for the Sox. Another good job by Theo Epstein, in my opinion, considering he gave up nothing and the fact that Jason Johnson, when atop his game can be a pretty damn good pitcher. This could potentially be HUGE for the Sox. When I heard about this I just sighed because of the possibilities of having another good, veteran arm on that pitching staff. I think he is best suited as a starter, but might do a decent job in relief. We'll soon see, though.
  9. I agree. Lets just move forward.
  10. Hold on just a second. I find this very ironic. Whenever it is revealed or speculated that a Yankee player has or is using steroids you guys, and you especially, jump all over them. ALL OVER THEM! And not only them, the organization. My response has always been "you dont know how many Sox players, past and present have used steroids in the past, or are currently using them." Now when a former Sox player reveals his use, you say it DOESN'T MATTER anymore! That's ridiculous. I agree with your point that it doesnt matter, that's the point i've tried to make for so long, that so many people did it for so long that the fields were even. But please, be consistent. When a Yankee does it you completely villify them, but when a Sox player does it you just brush it off and say it's no big deal. Such hypocracy. Please, would one of you Boston fans f***ing jump on Paxton Crawford (who I actually liked back in the day.) like you do the Yankee steroid users. I realize that Paxton didnt have the success that Giambi or Sheffield (if he did in-fact abuse them like most of you guys believe, rather than just using the cream that once like he claims), but that doesnt take away from the fact that Paxton still used. So please, one of you, show some f***iing consistency and criticize this guy.
  11. Nevermind what I said then, didnt realize Loretta was in his contract year.
  12. I think if the Sox were to resign him that they should trade Loretta for some bullpen help or something. He's a good player and everything, but it's not gonna hurt ya guys if you lose him in favor of bringing up Pedroia. That was a hell of a play he made yesterday, btw.
  13. Haha I remember seeing something about the fight beforehand on ESPN, forgot all about it and wasnt aware of the results. But thats hilarious about his opponent wearing an Ohio State jersey As for Samardzija, I was kind of curious to see how this would work out.
  14. Dont mean to get off topic, but I just want to mention how shocked I was when Jose Veras got called up. Wow. When we signed him I never thought I would see him here. Hope he does good.
  15. Fair Enough. What "me-first" attitude? He was going to take a paycut to go play in Boston, and he switched positions to come play for the Yankees. He always takes responsibility for his failures, never blames anybody else for anything, and goes out and does his best. You have no idea what you're talking about. Should he jump in jubilation when a team scores against him? I mean s***, I respect that he gets upset when he fails. That motivates him to succeed. Whatever. Thats not that big a deal. But fair enough I guess. He's far and away the most deserving. Offensively he has been way better than any other second baseman. And he's played a solid defensive second base as well. If he was playing in Boston this year would you care that he is atop the list and not Wells? Probably not. Appearantly. _____________________________ As for the Varitek "trash" thing, I totally disagree. I would love to have a player like Varitek. Hard nosed, gritty, plays hard, etc.
  16. I would imagine. He speaks pretty good english. In fact, he resides in Tampa. So being a resident of the United States, i'm sure he's picked up some English profanity.
  17. disappointing loss today. At least we can be proud of this one, unlike yesterday's nightmare. However, a win would have been something to be much more proud of. I feel somewhat hypocritical saying this, because I was really hoping and pulling for Wang to throw a complete game, but I wish Joe would use Ron Villone a little bit more. He's been good when he's been able to pitch this year. However, he doesnt get many opportunities. Whatever, up to Philly we go. If we go up there and fail to win at least 2 of 3, this road trip will have been a complete failure.
  18. Chien-Ming Wang says f*** you too! http://media.scout.com/media/image/19/198878.jpg
  19. Lets look on the bright side. ..At least he didnt get hit with a Golden Sombrero ..however, if the Guardians (god forbid) tie it up and we go to extras, and A-Rod gets another at bat I would COUNT ON 4th K.
  20. We're gonna need Wang to be big for us all year with the inconsistancy of both the pitching staff and the offense. He looked great tonight.
  21. Good to hear. I remember how much he was struggling down there when he first got promoted. Good to hear this. Hopefully I get a chance to make the trip down there and see him make a start. Thats my goal this summer haha wow. I wish I got that channel. Do all markets have a "local access channel", or just where you live? Is there a name for this channel, any call letters or anything? I need to find a friend who had the Local Access Channel and have them record games for me I HAVE to see this stuff lol
  22. wait hahaha...nevermind. I thought when he said IF he was abbreviating Infielder, since he capatilized the letters oops.
  23. hahahah ....I wish I got to see games like that. Forgive me for sounding stupid, but what's the puvlic access channel? _____________________________ O want to appologize to you guys for my extreme amount of posting tonight, and replying to old posts. My computer just hasnt worked with Talksox AT ALL the past few days or so, and i'm just trying to catch up.
  24. Thats likely what'll happen, unless they decide to DFA Green (or option him, but I dont think he has any options left. I could be wrong though) now that Jeter is healthy. It'd essentially be swapping Thompson for Terrence Long. I agree. Cabrera is the man. All Star IF? I thought it was hilarious You sure you understood it? lol Good way of looking at it. Especially with the bat. But i'll give Crosby the edge with defense and speed.
  25. Heyy! Not funny man lol. na, we just need to f***ing play better. We were playing GREAT without those guys before. Need to start playing great again and stop losing games we should be winning.
