  1. I'll be more happy with Pedroia at 2nd.....resign Alex Gonzalez
  2. Look at it this way....he fits in with the ball club. Stikeout with 2 players on base...Go Red Sox
  3. Just turned on the TV to see Willy Mo Pena get picked off and Mike Lowell to line out hard to 1st.....I see the current trend is continuing
  4. Thats true and I understand that. If that was the case why did the Red Sox draft him. They have the resources so they should use them. Pay the money to keep these guys and work with them. Does a major league contract mean he must go to the majors within a certain given time??
  5. He better sign with the Red Sox. Building through the farm system requires you get top talent in order to do that. If the front office can't make moves for the big league club or sign its best talent in the minors.....what use are they
  6. There is a difference....the 2004 team didn't have the injuries or weak attitude of this team.
  7. He should be in the rotation after this season. Tremendous command and has the ability to be a top 5 starter in the league if he can add an off speed breaking pitch.
  8. Its the right thing to do....David Wells worked his tail off to get back and he doesn't deserve to be on a crap team.....send him somewhere better to end his career
  9. I think Francona is gonna cry in his press conference
  10. I hope so....clear out the roster and bring up the young guys.
  11. Who said it needs to be a "top" prospect. David Wells does us no good...might as well get something while you can
  12. Doesn't matter...there is still more money (even without Matsui and Sheffield) invested in the batting lineup than almost every team. They will win
  13. I think thats a great idea. I'm still hoping they can trade Mark Loretta as well. At this point just dismantle the team...bring up some more young guys....make it interesting to watch again.
  14. For another month....then we have to go get Jason Johnson again
  15. As if this Red Sox team couldn't get worse...they aren't going to score a run today. I'm at a total loss for words. At this point I say the Red Sox trash the season and bring up a bunch of young guys. ....at least it would be interesting to watch again. These games aren't even fun....I'm sitting here just waiting for this game to get over so I can add another loss to the column.
  16. I think the entire pitching coach staff should be changed. Its not just the young guys its everyone thats struggling. They clearly don't have a solid game plan when going at teams. An example of many: The last start Jon Lester had he was supposed to throw fastballs to start and get ahead then use his breaking stuff after. He has his best control with the fastball and before anyone says Javy Lopez can't call a decent game....it was the coaches that were calling the game. Suddenly after the 1st inning (which went well) he started off with breaking pitches and got crushed. Why did they make the change and put Lester in that situation? Also, why can't they help Josh Beckett on a game plan where clearly he throws too many fastballs and has no idea how to attack certain hitters. Rudy Seanez, Julian Tavarez, Manny Delcarmen, Craig Hansen, Mike Timlin, Keith Foulke, Beckett, Lester.......EVERYONE sucks. Even if its not necessarily the coaches they should be changed to create a new atmosphere because the current one is terrifying and shows no signs of improvement.
  17. After watching Jonathan Papelbon pitch yesturday....he should deffinitly be a starter. The reason I say that....2 innings 5 Ks. Great control and he does it on basically 2 pitches. I want him to start for us. He had 4 days off and his velocity was way up. I would love to see him do that in the rotation. Throwing a 92 mph splitter....just filthy.
  18. The Yankees lineup still looks just as good as ours.....and they have the scrubs in the game
  19. I wouldn't consider trading Mark Loretta..."throwing in the towel" This team needs a shake up. Dustin Pedroia is better on defense and a very good hitter. Its not a downgrade. He is a clubhouse guy who will show more emotion than Mark Loretta. He could give the team some life. At the same time we can get some pitching help by trading Mark Loretta......so lets review. Neither the defense or offense is downgraded and we improve the pitching. The front office would get some bonus points from me if they could find a deal.
  20. Agreed. The Red Sox should do what they can to deal Mark Loretta now before they don't get anything for him. I'd also be excited to see Dustin Pedroia come up for the final stretch and get some experience (worked out well for Papelbon last year).
  21. Thats too many players for Roy Oswalt and (Dan Wheeler?). After this season I can see the Astros going into full rebuild mode. They are going to lose Andy Pettite and Roger Clemens after this season. The pitching staff and run at the playoffs is over for the Astros. I think now would be a time to see the Red Sox go after Roy Oswalt and Lance Berkman but at what price? The Astros would save a fortune from the two players but would request a fortune as well (I think unless they would just want financial relief). Matsuzaka would be a huge pickup for the Red Sox but extremely expensive. Nonetheless he is absolutly sick and should dominate in the MLB as well. If he becomes available he should be the best pitcher available this offseason (23 years old?). Just imagine finding a way to add Berkman, Oswalt, and Matsuzaka. Its a wish that probably won't happen but its the moves this team needs to make because this team needs a serious makeover on the veteran side. I think the Red Sox really need a new pitching coaching staff. Every pitchers ERA is climbing. They must work with Josh Beckett on another pitch, work with Lester on his control, and for next season....help Jonathan Papelbon develop a solid off-speed breaking pitch so he can become an effective starter. I'm just not sure the current pitching coaches know how to handle this.
  22. "You're just a fat kid. Sorry about that fatty fat fatty. Hey Tom he's just a fat kid! Aren't you, fatty? You're just a big ol' fat kid. Here's some chocolate fatso." - Family Guy
  23. "Sometimes I doubt there are any gods the way the world goes" - Kay ....just how terrible is Michael Kay's world.....announcer for the NY Yankees and has a radio show apparently. Spoiled s*** is what comes to mind. I can't wait for the day he really does get a slap in the face and....ssssseee yea.....Kay is toast
  24. Again, it will depend on what moves the Red Sox can do in the offseason. If they can add a starter then they may not need him in the rotation but if they add a good closer...they can move him to the rotation. Trying to determine where Jonathan Papelbon is better utilized is rediculous. We won't know the answer until we see him in the rotation. Its quite possible Jonathan Papelbon could be the best starter in our rotation.
