  1. how about Curt Schilling?? according to a report on ESPN Curt will join the bullpen until he regains his form.....i think im ok with that for now
  2. I just read on ESPN that Curt Schilling will go to the bullpen soon to help out while he regains his form......I'd love for him to start but a 70% Schill is better than anything in our bullpen
  3. I hear about all the talk with giving up prospects but....Hanley, Papelbon, Pedroia, Lester, Moss, Sanchez, Shoppach....don't you think we can move one of them...not like they are all going to make this team. The Sox have money and will always be a force when it comes to free agents and such.....every year we are going to get a Renteria, Schilling, or Clement.....I mean don't trade away all of them or something stupid. I would suggest giving Papelbon a try and see what he can do. If that doesn't work out then make a move...although I think Papelbon can hold his own at this point.
  4. If we made this move we might be able to turn around and trade Bellhorn for some relief pitching?? and if you say nobody would give up anything for Bellhorn then what the hell is he doing on this team. Screw it lets just trade Bellhorn, Embree, and Foulke for Boone, Hasegawa, and Guardado.....yeah I dont think they will go for it either
  5. Better to have an oversized head than an oversized ego.... ARod, Jeter, Johnson, Sheffield, Brown.....Steinbrenner
  6. I've been hearing the same things but about both Papelbon and Hansen when he is signed. I remember when a guy named K-Rod showed up and was a big part of the reason for the Angels winning the World Series.
  7. good point......and Boone won the AL Gold Glove 2004, 2003, 2002 and NL Gold Glove in 1998.....its just that he is past his peak but I still think he might help....have Olerud and Boone take over the right side of our infield....lol kinda strange.
  8. Pokey-Reese like player?? Hmmm why don't we just go get Pokey Reese....last I heard he is supposed to come back this month and while we are at it lets make a run for Fat Eddie
  9. Miguel Batista Danys Baez Billy Wagner Brian Fuentes Eddie Guardado There are some names out there lets get one but I dont think we dump Foulke....he is too good to be this bad I think we need to switch his role and give him a less important one to get his head out of the clouds and not have the stress of being the closer.
  10. He certainly is not a priority but we do need to upgrade the right side of our infield.....not sure he is the answer but he has experience and a decent bat when he gets hot......he wouldn't be my first choice as an infield BACKUP.......lets remember that nobody is going to lose there job....except for the guys in the bullpen.
  11. I actually got to watch Schmidt pitch and was not 100% impressed. Don't get me wrong though I think you add him with Garcia, Buehrle, Garland, and Hernandez.....well damn....congrats White Sox you put together a lethal rotation. I won't give you the ALCS though cause you will have tough pitching matchups with players and teams who have been there.
  12. Great stuff RedSoxRooter..... Anyone feeling a little better about Miller?? I mean he did it again with the slow start but he can dominate once he gets in motion. Not to mention that game against the Rangers just proved to everyone AGAIN that Miller is not a bullpen pitcher. Foulke on the other hand needs a kick in the ass.
  13. At this point I agree.....something is wrong and this is not the place to fix it.....the race for the AL East is too tight to be messing things up like this. At the very least he needs to be taken out of the closer role where the game is not in his hands to lose. Hand it over to Timlin or lets go get someone.
  14. Actually this might work to one advantage......if Boone was brought in at least he would push Bellhorn. I don't necessarily want Boone to be a replacement but if he showed up Bellhorn might need to get his act together and play a little better....it might be what he needs. Besides pitching, the Sox could use an upgrade for the right side of their infield. Millar started playing better when Meintkesidnfksn showed up and is playing a little better with Johnny "Helmet" Olerud around....maybe Bellboy needs to the same thing
  15. I saw that coming. Last couple of years have been real hard on him and I don't know when or if he's going to get it back. As far as the Sox go....I would suggest "no" because I don't picture him as a solution by any means. He has been struggling as much as Embree and Foulke.
  16. lol I have to give Joe credit....all of this stupid talk is coming because he started it....way to be joe nicely done
  17. It is still a little early on Wade Miller. The guy has too much talent to be stuck pitching like this. Pitching for two months is not a great amount of time since being injured for almost a year. Sometimes he looks awesome he just needs to locate better. Too many times I see him throw balls that don't have a chance. He deffinitly seems like a guy that when he gets settled in he really focuses and can get hot.....so once he can get through the first couple inning and not throw a ton of pitches i think he would start hitting 7 innings.
  18. damnit you got me
  19. soxie what is that picture from?
  20. I know how awesome is he. Arroyo will have his work cut out for him but this is a good sign.... Halladay vs. Boston 2005 5.14 ERA 14.0 IP 8 ER Arroyo vs. Toronto 2005 2.37 ERA 19.0 IP 5 ER Doc has been real hot though
  21. the real answer is....I should be playing 2nd base
  22. oh wow....suddenly i might not be that excited to bring Lilly into Boston for a trade. Then again I don't think I was excited about that rumor in the first place.
  23. Billy Beane wanted to trade Zito for the YES network but I still agree with ESPN....Yanks should swap entire roster for plucky, team-first Washington Nationals, agree to pick up $190 million of former Yankees' salaries.
  24. you are all crazy..... Kevin Millar should pitch and be our closer. If anything David Wells should be playing 2nd base.
