  1. Mixed feelings about the Lester thing but seeing Miller and Drew go is cause for celebration. On the MLB boards some folks are bitching about how the Sox "gave the Yankees a shortstop to replace Jeter next year" lol Jeter is more productive when he excuses himself to take a piss than Drew will ever be at the plate.
  2. So then Peavy stands a chance of posting a winning record for the year. Poor guy deserves a break like that.
  3. If I heard that coming from behind me, my butthole would pucker up.
  4. "And Drew strikes out to end the inning" they should just record that and push the button for it to play back whenever necessary.
  5. Ummmm... isn't there supposed to be somebody standing over by first base to tell Ortiz not to advance to second on that play?
  6. Remy: "This is like two outings for Uehara". Ummm, yeah, considering that he usually just pitches one inning. Dumfuk.
  7. Hey I just figured out that there's a pattern here. On days that the Blue Jays win, the Red Sox lose. And on days that the Blue Jay lose, the Red Sox lose.
  8. "And Drew strikes out to end the inning".... I bet we've heard that phrase more often than we've heard "Daniel Narver" or "Amicar Insurance".
  9. Uehara trotted out in 9th, a pinch hitter for Bradley (even the mascot will do, IMO)... that's two good decisions in one game. Keep on sending that coffee over to Farrell.
  10. OH f***. Drew just bought himself about 40 more starts.
  11. Why do hypothetical trade threads always involve contrived deals for a superstar lol. So many of the lost games were so close... close enough that one hit or one sacrifice would have made the difference in whether they win or lose... that if they only had two .225 hitters in the place of Bradley and Drew over the past few weeks, they'd probably have chalked up five or six more wins. Of course it may be a bit too late for this year, but when Middlebrooks and Victorino are back in the mix, this team will be much less of a train wreck. Though of course I'm also hinging my assertion on having Drew watching the games on TV and Mujica selling hot dogs up in the bleachers.
  12. They didn't lose yesterday!!!!
  13. The next guy over actually looks pretty scary.
  14. Hey, I just came up with a new Red Sox catchphrase... "It's just Mujica being Mujica".
  15. No s***. Red Sox have scored two or fewer runs in 17 of their last 30 games. If every pitcher in the starting rotation had a 2.00 ERA, it would not be enough to save them from losing more games than they win. If ALL of the other teams in the division can manage to suck that bad for a 30-game stretch, the Red Sox may manage to pick up yet another half game in the standings.
  16. Uehara got trotted out to the mound in a game that's on the line? Farrell must have drank that coffee I had sent over to him.
  17. I'm kind of slow on the draw when it comes to blaming the manager for a team's non-performance, but I'll agree that he has made a lot of really f***ing stupid decisions, made stupider by continuing to do the same stupid s*** that already isn't working.
  18. Yeah he's not exactly the ace of spades these days, but would anybody be really be talking him down like this if he got a fair bit of run support along the way?
  19. I heard that Holt was demanding a trade to a national league team, so that he can pitch too.
  20. Better to eat the salary and be done with it, than to sabotage the team economy by keeping non-producers on the field. Nobody pays to come and see Drew play. Nobody.
  21. I'm not nearly as optimistic as SoxFanForsyth is, but today is the first day in at least a couple of weeks that I feel like the Sox will probably win. He's right about the schedule - including the other East team's schedules over the next week or two - favoring them right now; if they can't pick up two or three games in the standings over the next ten or so, it's time to put a fork in them and cross our fingers for next year.
  22. Pedroia must have a horseshoe up his ass, to get a safe call there. Aggressive play is one thing, dumbf*** s*** is another.
  23. LOL these Fox announcers are hilarious sometimes.... what a good job Soriano did "knocking that one down enough to hold him to a double" when he lets a single turn into a double by not fielding the ball.
  24. The only stat that really counts is how many runners come across home plate.
