  1. Take a look at his numbers against the Yankees in May...
  2. They had the place packed every night when they were winning in the early 90s. Fans will come if the team performs.
  3. I would say the Yankees will play these last three innings very similar to how they did last night. Phil Coke for Mauer, Morneau, and Kubel. Hughes through the 8th (assuming they're not going to use Mo for more than 3 outs again). Rivera for the 9th.
  4. So I guess Coke will get to face Mauer and Morneau this time through the order.
  5. Need one guy to get on to give Lind a shot.
  6. Wow, Ransom and Gardner had absolutely no chance against the knuckle ball.
  7. Absolutely. That's why I wasn't upset at the umpire when Robertson wasn't getting those calls.
  8. That one has five. Guess I miscounted.
  9. If you go by the same strike zone that Kilo is using, Liriano lost four strikes. EDIT: And got no gift strikes.
  10. So frustrating. No fastball command. EDIT: The Yankees are fortunate that Morneau has done absolutely nothing this series.
  11. Might not all be him. Who knows what the catcher and pitching coach were telling him. So many pitchers go to the game plan where they show their fastball so often early, and then break in the off speed stuff later in the game. In theory, it makes a lot of sense, but if the pitcher doesn't have a good enough fastball it won't work.
  12. These next two innings are going to be very tricky, before the Yankees can start using Coke and Hughes.
  13. Not sure why Liriano wasn't featuring his off speed stuff early in the count earlier in the game...
  14. Was Liriano getting it that bad?
  15. He's got a nice curve, but he doesn't have the fastball command to get ahead. Credit to Posada for calling that 2-1 curve.
  16. He is clearly taking and Robertson can't even throw strikes. EDIT: Terrible. Cannot let him face Mauer.
  17. Cannot bring Robertson in with the bases loaded.
  18. Have to think about the games ahead of you. And besides his last outing, he wasn't even pitching three innings out of the pen.
  19. Should have been out one batter earlier. This was a bad decision by the Yankees, in my opinion, to start Aceves today. There was absolutely no reason to think he was going to be able to go deep in the game, and they're going to kill the bullpen today. This is going to hurt them badly in LAA, especially considering Chamberlain is going tomorrow.
  20. Looks like they've stuck with Aceves too long.
