  1. Rivera should in this game. In the postseason, they're going to rely on Rivera for more than three outs. Might as well let him do it before the postseason, at least a couple of times. EDIT: Somehow, someway, they still lead.
  2. Joe couldn't possibly go to Bruney to pitch the 8th... EDIT: Nope, Kennedy. Interesting.
  3. If he wants to sit the guys, that's fine. But you just cannot play Shelley Duncan in a fairly spacious outfield.
  4. And that's what Joe gets for playing the B lineup today.
  5. The same scenario exists for the Yankees that existed for the Red Sox in 2007. They expect to clinch the division sometime soon. As for 1995, I realize that. However, the Yankees were well behind in the wild card for much of the season, and only caught up at the end. Because of that, the Red Sox probably did not clinch a playoff berth before they clinched the division.
  6. No reason to send him there. Teixeira had to wait, and he is very slow. With one out that is a bad decision.
  7. Cannot give the Angels extra outs...
  8. Yankees going with the B lineup today. EDIT: Kazmir didn't look too good but got through the inning.
  9. Also, as I predicted in the Red Sox GT, there was no celebration last night.
  10. It happened in a year where A-Rod (by A-Rod standards) struggled. That isn't the case this year.
  11. Yeah, because A-Rod is definitely going to hit 8th.
  12. Nice job by Hughes.
  13. 5-0 lead. Some poor pitching, poor decisions, and poor fielding later they're on the brink of losing.
  14. I don't believe in the past performance thing against LAA, but they just seem to find new ways to lose against them.
  15. Joe Girardi is the worst f***ing manager I've ever seen.
  16. WHAT IS MARTE UP FOR IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO USE HIM TO FACE THE LEFTY? EDIT: You can't make this s*** up. Girardi sucks. He is the worst in game manager the Yankees' have had since Stump Merrill. It's as if he got so influenced by Izturis popping out, even though he looked so bad. EDIT 2: Great play by A-Rod. Really saves Aceves, and was probably the only way he was going to get out of the inning.
  17. Wow, this is awful. Joe Girardi is a brutal in game manager. His problem is that he has guys that pitch with leads, and he has guys that pitch when the team is losing. And he sticks to that so rigidly that some guys go very long periods of time without work. They are a worse team with him managing.
  18. Absolutely terrible pitch selection. An 0-2 run back two seamer from Aceves is an awful call in that spot. I've seen this story before, and it always ends the same.
  19. Aceves hasn't pitched since 9/14. Girardi cannot expect him to be sharp.
  20. Swisher made absolutely no attempt to catch that ball. He just ran in the general direction of where he thought it might be, with absolutely no intention or chance to actually catch it. He really is an awful outfielder. And, now, Gaudin is starting to pay for all of the pitches he has left in the middle of the plate.
