Man, CC is throwing well, but Philly has put together some good ABs and have had some luck on their side. Unfortunate to say the least. EDIT: And now a defensive mistake by Teixeira, and a terrible decision by CC.

CC has been excellent, but two soft hits in front of the heart of the order have created an opportunity for Philly to get back into the game.

Awful job by Cervelli. That would have been the perfect time to squeeze, but not with Joe. Never.

Very true, and as teams begin to adjust to his limited repertoire, it's becoming imperative that he improves his cutter and his change-up.

Couple pretty bad things about that inning. It starts with the blooper hit by Blum falling in, which was Swisher's ball, and his bad jump on it cost them. Then Hughes has to put Manzella away, who is a poor hitter, and has killed the Yankees all series. But fine, couple soft hits led to a couple runs, no big deal, just hold them at 7-3. But that's where Joe really comes up short. The AB with Manzella went so long, and with Hughes well over 100 pitches, he really emptied the tank against him. After failing to retire Manzella, Joe has to pull Hughes, who both physically and emotionally is probably at the end of the road. Instead he leaves him in, and now we have a ball game, with the Yankees needing ten outs from their shaky bullpen.

You can't walk Kevin Cash, but that's a bad error by Teixeira in a big spot. Hughes hasn't been too good today, despite his line, and he definitely doesn't need extra base runners with the heart of the order coming up.

They'll never do it, but the Yankees should start giving Jeter the red light on the bases (I'm assuming he always has the green light). He's not that fast anymore, and he attempts to steal bases at bad times.

Hughes really has to stop throwing his cutter as much as he does. It was decent last year, out of the bullpen, but it's awful this year.

I don't think anyone should feel the need to leave. As long as you show the other posters respect, which you do, then it shouldn't really matter what you want to talk about. No one should feel the need to leave a public message board because a few people don't like the way they post. -

Cannot believe that carried out. They really haven't hit Rodriguez hard, but they made him pay for his walks and fielding mistake.

Hopefully, one of these days Joe will realize that he can't play Thames in the outfield. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Amazing that they can't get out Tommy Manzella.

Javy looks like the April version of himself so far today. Poor velocity, flat breaking pitches, and poor command (wild in the strike zone, up in the zone)... Hopefully he gets in a groove at some point today.

And the Yankees' second and third place hitters (in 2004) are in the same boat. Lets not go down this road.

Just as the Yankees seemed to be getting completely healthy, Gardner and A-Rod are out. Hopefully neither injury turns out to be serious.

The incredible inconsistency is why he's one of the few guys on this team that I don't enjoy watching. EDIT: This is really hard to watch.

I think they lose tonight. The Orioles have to beat the Yankees eventually. Bad AJ might show up, and the Yankees are facing someone they've never seen before. I'm not optimistic.

So much stupidity at play tonight. CC's worst pitch tonight is his fastball. He goes to an inside fastball on 1-1 to get ahead of Jones at 1-2. He's setup perfectly to throw his change-up for a K, but instead tries to double up with his worst pitch. Incredible.
