Managers are just never going to learn that they should go to their closer when the game is on the line, even if that time isn't in the ninth inning. EDIT: And now Gardenhire goes to Capps, after the game is already tied. This inning has been a classic example of how important a role managers can play.

Jesse Crain really got squeezed against Aybar. Now the Rays bring the tying run to plate. EDIT: And Bartlett ties it. Joe Maddon is, far and away, the best manager in the sport. But it should have been Capps.

Really hate the bunt attempt in that spot. Cormier was looking really hittable that inning.

Delmon Young playing way too deep, even for no doubles. Regardless, that has to be a catch. EDIT: And there is one of the big differences between the Rays and the Yankees. The Rays get guys over and get them in from third with less than two outs. The Yankees have struggled all year in that department.

Considering how much the Rays impact the Yankees and the Red Sox, I figured a Rays' game thread for the last couple months of the season was appropriate. Good game going on right now, as they trail the Twins 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth.

They're really scuffling right now. They also haven't been swept in a three game series all year, so hopefully tomorrow doesn't mark the first time. EDIT: They also haven't lost four in a row all season.
