  1. Lost in Brett Gardner's speed is how bad he is at reading a pitcher. He should steal so many more bases than he does.
  2. Bad job by Curtis on a 3-2 pitch that far out of the strike zone. A Major League hitter has to be able to take that pitch. EDIT: How do you not pinch hit Posada here?
  3. I'm sure there's no intent on his part, but that's a dirty play by the pitcher.
  4. The Yankees have hit some balls well today that have probably been knocked down by the wind, but they're also not taking advantage of being ahead in the count. Twelve up, twelve down.
  5. They seem to be seeing the ball well out of Bullington's hand, and Swisher and A-Rod both just missed home runs. And then Berkman rips one that the center fielder runs down. Eventually these will start turning into hits.
  6. This is pathetic. The Yankees can't hold anyone on. EDIT: And the idea that Francisco Cervelli is anything more than an average defensive catcher is pretty funny. He is a decent receiver, with an average throwing arm, yet he continually makes stupid decisions.
  7. Well that's frustrating. No ground lost, but definitely a missed opportunity.
  8. Dammit, Curtis just missed giving the Yankees the lead. EDIT: Wow, Kendall drops a pop up. Have to take advantage. At this point, this would be a bad loss.
  9. Really nice job by the Yankees' bullpen to keep them in the game. The Royals haven't lost a single game this year that they've led after eight innings. Top of the Yankees' order against Soria...
  10. Time to see if the bottom of the order can do anything. EDIT: Dammit, Lance hit that ball well. EDIT 2: Wow the Royals are awful defensively. Have to capitalize here.
  11. With the game now in a rain delay, that home run by Butler could loom quite large.
  12. I'm not saying I agree with him, but the Rays have a lot of problems of their own. Nice play by Tex there.
  13. Such a dumb play there.
  14. I wonder if both teams have ever hit back to back to back home runs in the same game. EDIT: So much for that.
  15. Never seen the Rays jerseys before.
  16. They've really smoked the ball this inning. I'm really liking Lance's new stance.
  17. Haha, I wish he'd go back to that stuff. They need him back.
  18. And the Moseley luck is running out. Pettitte had a setback today. But the rotation is in great shape! EDIT: They have to do something about these stolen bases.
  19. It's amazing how many singles the Royals hit. EDIT: In terms of allowing stolen bases, the Yankees are like the Red Sox were earlier in the year, just without the same amount of publicity.
  20. It surprises me how much these hitters trust Kevin Long. For an established player like Berkman to come here, and then move closer to the plate because Long apparently wanted him to is interesting.
  21. And another lucky hit. You can't make this stuff up.
  22. Girardi over-managing. Classic.
