  1. He's been bad this month. That has been one of the main reasons the offense has struggled a bit.
  2. That's on Girardi. Why is Thames hitting ahead of Granderson against a RHP, especially with Granderson swinging the bat well.
  3. Nope. Doesn't mean his regression hasn't hurt.
  4. And CC looks terrible so far.
  5. With the state of the Yankees rotation (and their lack of offense right now), there's a decent amount of pressure to win every time CC takes the ball. As luck would have it, he's matched up against Verlander.
  6. And now Pettitte needs an MRI. The possibility exists that he's not coming back. Nice job by the Yankees not to address their pitching problems at the TDL.
  7. Neither can I. He is definitely going to be back next year. However, the question remains whether that is the direction the Yankees should go in.
  8. I'm sure that's how the Yankees will look at it. I'm willing to bet the brand will survive without Jeter, but so be it. As for the Mariah Carey part, now that is impressive lol.
  9. I'm not sure if they have the money to sign two premier free agents. They were very serious about the budget this past winter, and I see no reason why this coming offseason would be any different. They had no problem cutting ties with Don Mattingly and Bernie Williams when there were better options. I'm more concerned with the future of the organization, not the past. There are better routes to go moving forward, if Jeter won't sign for what his production dictates he's worth.
  10. After his game ending double play tonight, I figured now was as good a time as any to start this discussion. Here are his 2010 statistics (coming into tonight's game): .279/.340/.389, .327 wOBA, 2.1 WAR He's 36 years old. If winning is this organizations' top priority, they handle Jeter exactly as they handled Damon last offseason. However I'm not naive, and I know that's not what's going to happen. If it was up to me, and Jeter wasn't willing to take a 8-10 million dollar AAV over a couple years, I let him walk, and go after both Lee and Crawford.
  11. I wonder how long Jeter is going to live on his reputation at this point.
  12. Same Valverde from that game in Boston.
  13. Yup, both day to day, with no further tests scheduled.
  14. And Thames swings at ball four. They're now up to 17 straight innings without scoring.
  15. Cervelli brings absolutely zero positive attributes to this team.
  16. Lee is only at 74 pitches also. EDIT: Or not. The Rays got very lucky in this inning, but so be it.
  17. Looks like the Yankees may hang onto first place for another night.
  18. And now Swisher has left the game.
  19. A Yankee pitcher finally holds a guy on, and the catcher makes a terrible throw. I never thought I'd miss Jose Molina... EDIT: But a nice play from Cervelli there.
