1. NYYFans.com is actually pretty awesome.
2. Jeremi Gonzalez has given up 12 hits in 11 innings this month. 2 walks and a 5.73 ERA.
3. Al Reyes hit Nomar on the wrist.
4. I know his son. Not friends with him, but I know him.
5. It is entirely possible that three pitches from our generation are the three best pitchers of all-time. Just look at these numbers. Conditions and circumstances play a huge role in that. Walter Johnson's numbers in the dead ball era throwing only a fastball aren't as impressive as Roger Clemens putting up better adjusted numbers in the steroid era. Same for the others compared to Pedro and Maddux. Same for Gibson and Seaver who played in leagues where the quality of play was at an all-time high.
6. My top 5 pitchers of all-time 1. Roger Clemens 2. Greg Maddux 3. Pedro Martinez will be number 1 when he gets 3000 innings 4. Tom Seaver 5. Bob Gibson
7. Hanley needs a full year in AAA.
8. I'd tell Steinbrenner to f*** off. I'd let Brian Cashman and Stick Michael run the team.
9. I'm closing this and bumping up the other Hanley Ramirez thread.
10. Pedroia isn't exactly destroying AAA pitching and certainly hasn't earned a promotion to the active roster. He is hitting .254/.354/.368 with 0 HR, 4 doubles, and a triple.
11. I doubt they have big plans for an injured SS who has no experience above AA.
12. Manny Delcarmen (3.23 ERA in 39 innings, 11.31 K/9, 4.62 BB/9, 0.69 HR/9) promoted to AAA Pawtucket.
13. Here is the reason for Clement's success.1998: 4.60 BB/9, 1.86 K/BB 1999: 4.28 BB/9, 1.57 K/BB 2000: 5.49 BB/9, 1.36 K/BB 2001: 4.52 BB/9, 1.58 K/BB 4 years: 4.80 BB/9, 1.49 K/BB 2002: 3.73 BB/9, 2.53 K/BB 2003: 3.53 BB/9, 2.16 K/BB 2004: 3.83 BB/9, 2.47 K/BB 3 years: 3.69 BB/9, 2.39 K/BB 2005: 2.91 BB/9, 2.51 K/BBIt was 2.80 BB/9 and 2.56 K/BB prior to last start, so you can get an idea of how good he has been.
14. Jon Papelbon (2.48 ERA in 87 innings, 8.6 K/9, 2.4 BB/9, 3.6 K/BB, 0.9 HR/9) to AAA Pawtucket. Anibal Sanchez (2.40 ERA in 78.7 innings, 10.9 K/9, 2.7 BB/9, 4.0 K/BB, 0.8 HR/9) to AA Portland.
15. I feel like I've read this before.
16. It won't be easy in Yankee Stadium.
17. Derrek Lee's counterpart in the rivalry.
18. Inside of Fenway, they have booths to sign up for the ring raffle. They have rings to try on. Said the ring they had was worth $2000
19. I'm pretty sure money is always involved in trades like that.
20. I didn't know that the Red Sox never have a high OBP.
21. Free passes? f*** that.
22. Clemens and Pedro don't belong.
23. Hanley Ramirez and Mark Bellhorn have nothing to do with eachother. Seriously, Hanley hasn't even gotten to AAA yet. By the way, is Hanley due for a hot streak or what? He has a .290 BA with a .348 OBP and just 1 HR.
