NY has dug themselves a nice hole in their starting staff by signing Pavano and Wright longterm. Both have had ONLY ONE good season each. They have proven nothing. Mussina is aging very ungracefully, RJ is a roll of the dice at his age. They've locked themselves up for 3 years as far as their starting staff with no hints of any 20 game winners on board.

a-rod has yet to perform well in his playoff stint with the yankees, which is where it counts, including a mediocre 3 for 16 this year in the ALDS (with no rbi's), All this after his subpar performnace in last year's ALCS; we all know how that went. So my question to you: is he really worth the 252 million dollars?

regarding the CF position, I know he is not the most promising player and gives fans a lot of headaches but what about trying to aquire milton bradley via trade as a 1 ir 2 year stop gap for ellsbury. he is a nice defensive/offensive CF also.
