  1. You gotta take into account the SOS and the quality of opponents they have faced over that stretch.
  2. Duke, Uconn, Nova, and a toss up between memphis and texas.
  3. I have watched plenty of Duke games and Yes, I do hate Duke, there is no way he becomes a star in the NBA. Redick doesn't have the skills needed to excell at the next level. While I am not an NBA scout I have seen tons of players that were great college players who didn't make the NBA. Also JJ's stats are aided greatly by having many skilled players playing with him. How did Bobby Hurley do in the NBA? How about Tradjen Langdon? Christian Laetner was a far better college player then JJ and while he has managed to have a long career his NBA stats suck. I am sure some team will draft JJ early, there are alot of teams in the NBA that continually draft the wrong type of player for the NBA. No doubt some GM will take him early and waste a pick, unless he was searching for a "shooting specialist."
  4. I gotta think either Uconn or 'Nova is gonna win it in Indy this year. That's right, I said it. Duke won't get one this year either, with their 10 McDonald's All Americans. So Shoot me.
  5. I have to say I didn't see Redick putting up the scoring numbers that he's posting this year. Almost 30 PPG is phenomenal, I didn't think he had anything like that in him. I still don't see a diverse, complete player, but when you can score like that, you're big time. First team All American easy, and deserving. But until he comes up big in the NCAA tournament, he's still got something to prove in college. As far as the NBA goes, I have to laugh at the lottery projections, even though they do exist. I don't really see anyone out there with his package that has made a name for himself in the NBA. If he was 2-3 inches taller, it might make a huge difference. I think he might hang around the league as a journeyman/shooting specialist who, on the right team, could be a double digit scorer. NBA stardom is not in his future IMO. I've heard comparisons of him to Rip Hamilton, however Rip Hamilton is 6-7, has a nice reach, is a much better athlete, is quicker, has better leaping ability, is a better rebounder and is a better inside player then Redick. Redick can shoot and that is about it.. I don't see the similarities.
  6. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2346877 In a simulated game, Koby Clemens went yard on his Dad. Next time up, what to expect? Of course Rocket buzzed him inside, lol. Classic, probably a setup.
  7. http://www.thestar.com/images/thestar/img/060227_mats_sundin_400.jpg What's with these Gold-Platted CD's Everyone is getting?
  8. "See you at the airport, Power Rangers! Red! Blue! Green!"
  9. What about Willy Mo? According to this story RF/LF Wily Mo Pena, a one time Yankee prospect via trade, is available for pitching. This guy flat out kills the ball. Sure he doesn't bring to the table a great BA, but he's 24 and most players don't start to show their true skills until age 26/27. Wily Mo could fill in for Manny and Trot on their days off and keep a nice power threat in the lineup. In '07 he could replace Trot or Manny if either one is gone. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060224/SPT04/602240354/1071
  10. Fight, Fight, Fight (I actually find it pretty funny)
  11. I really think the Yank fans are in for a surprise this season; their rotation sucks, and their offense isn't as good as their fans think that it is. They may score more runs than ours, but not enough to cover the half-to-seven/tenths of a point higher ERA they're going to put up. I was reading the reaction to this article on NYYfans.com, pretty funny stuff there. They think our bullpen is a weakness, our offense is regressing, and Beckett is only good because he pitched a good game against the Yankees in the WS. I thought thsi quote was the funniest part "If a journalist doesn't pick the Yanks to win the east, they're biased against the Yankees and are just doing it for attention."
  12. Yeah, I tried to be nice.
  13. I know that, I was just talking about the AL, in general.
  14. Yeah, totally agree Stocker. If someone just picks one team, it wouldn't be as fun IMO.
  15. Welcome, NY Brethren. NYer from Syracuse here.
  16. When you pick up Josh Beckett and Coco Crisp, how can you have the worst offseason in the AL? What did Minnesota or Tampa Bay do? Baltimore picked up Kevin Millar....ooooohhhhh scarrrrry.
  17. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5354492 Interesting, no? Perry notes that he thinks our team will have a solid relief, solid rotation, and a capable defense. I cannot say I was expecting someone to pick us. Oh how the tides have turned in a span of a few days
  18. Word, bitch, Phantoms like a mallf***er.
  19. lol, I was thinking the same thing...First, Ben Affleck...Now, Willy.
  20. Latest Bubble Tracker from USA Today: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/tourney/2006-bubble.htm No way the committee leaves out a top-30 RPI team, assuming they stay in that area. I don't think they've ever done that. I believe 33 is lowest ever left out. .500 record gets them in, assuming that they win at Depaul, they will end up with a .500 conference record in the toughest conference in the nation.
  21. ahhh missed that one.
  22. what sweaty coach are you talking about?
