  1. Ken Klee to the Devils... no word of who the Leafs got in return... I forgot how much I loved the Trade Deadline.
  2. Memo to David Aebischer: Welcome to the ninth circle of hell...aka hockey crazy Montreal. If you sneeze, it'll be headline news. Anyone know if Theodore can get that hair medicine in Colorado? I think Propecia works better in the thinner atmosphere anyways.
  3. OK, I'll take that as a compliment.
  4. When did I say RPI didn't matter?
  5. Wow, you are such a hypocrit. I feel like I am talking to a brick wall.
  6. 43 before this win today, anyone who is on the bubble and beat uconn and doesn't get in is called C-O-N-S-P-I-R-A-C-Y.
  7. To have a chance? You know little about College Basketball if you think that if they beat the #1 team in the nation, UConn, they are potentially OUT. Not to mention their SOS is 9.
  8. If they beat Uconn, they are in, PERIOD. Today, JB was about as fiery as I've ever seen him talking about G-Mac in the post game interview. He said they wouldn't have won 10 "f***ing" games without him this year. He seemed upset about a school paper article that said he was overrated. The article quoted anonymous assistant coaches. JB said that if they think G-Mac is overrated they will never be qualified to be a head coach. While i think this is a bit of an exaggeration, i do think we would have been under .500, and clearly not in any post season tournaments at all. ok, now i'll stop all the "i told you so" talk. All the Syracuse fans should all be kneeling at Gerry's feet after todays heroics, so i'll just let his shot today speak for itself. the guy is all heart..
  9. I had studyhall and gym, but I went to a room with a TV instead. We treat SU Sports, particularly basketball, like a Professional Sport around here.
  10. nother win vs the bruins, great playoff atmosphere at HSBC lol @ boynton excuses, excuses. well this "diving" team is gonna dive its way to the playoffs while the bruins sit at home, watch it and say "wow, we had the privledge of losing to those divers 8 times" you think the fact that the Sabres are deadly on power plays has anything to do with another team crying about getting penalties? They provide the same rule book to all teams, and those that can read do so.
  11. n case you haven't seen it...... SU blew a 14-point 2nd half lead..... Cincy hit a shot with 10 secs left to go up by one..... Cincy stole the inbounds pass.....Syracuse fouled with 8 secs left.... Cincy hit first FT, missed 2nd (Cincy now up by 2 w/8 secs left).... Cincy fouls Syracuse because they have one to give (now 6 secs left).... Then...... Syracuse gets the ball inbounds to Gerry McNamara who dribbles through center court, double-teamed, goes around the back, and splits the two defenders. As the clock goes down to about 2 secs, G-Mac throws up a running 3-point prayer (running...as in took off from beyond the arc, headed towards the bucket and floats it with one hand). BOOM! SU up one. (now 0.5 secs left). Cincy throws the ball to half court.....player grabs it on the run and shoots as he's sprinting to his right.....from half-court.....off the front of the rim! WHEW! SU survives another day....and will probably get destroyed by UConn tomorrow, but may have earned an NCAA berth by beating another bubble team on a neutral court (remember, they're 2-1 now against fellow-bubble team Cincy). But senior G-Mac coming up that big in that situation...incredible shot! Even if we get crushed by UConn, today's a good day for Orange fans! I watched the game in school, and the ground shook when GMAC hit that last second shot with 0.5 seconds left.
  12. DAMNIT. This is very sad news... I cannot believe so many bad things can happen to a man who did so much with the talent he had. I'm hopeful people will remember him for who he was rather than what happened to him health-wise... http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/hofers_and_honorees/plaques/images/Puckett_Kirby.jpg
  13. Back to the coach of the year discussion. I'll throw in Karl Hobbs from GW. I don't care what their SOS is or what conference they play in. 26-1 is 26-1. How bout Jay Wright? I know they were supposed to be good anyway, but after losing Curtis Sumpter and still being able to do what they did, in that conference, I have a lot of admiration for the job he's done this year. But no doubt Pearl and Williams should both be near the top of the list. How about Thad Matta from OSU. Ohio State wasn't ranked to begin the season nor were this year's freshmen highly thought of either. Despite that, the team won the #1 RPI rated conference.
  14. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20060306/capt.6b3188e5874448dd93e0cd6b07eae1e4.bkc_top_25_gfx409.jpg
  15. Ohhhhh Nooooooooooooo Not 2 Hr's Given Up In The First Inning In A Spring Training Game, Trade Him Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Big Whoop. Spring Training is Spring Training, not to mention of his first 22 pitches through the first 2 innings, 19 were fastballs.
  17. OK, but UNC lost their top 7 scorers from last season, which made up 91% of their scoring. 91%!
  18. Haven't been on here much, but back to the Duke/ UNC game and WOW...Duke, at home, on Senior night, blows it. Tyler Hansbrough is the freakin man. He was great, even hitting a huge three, only his second of the season. Redick had 18, 1 FG in the second half though! Where was his clutch play when they needed him? Oh thats right, hes not clutch. Duke has lost 2 straight, and are not playing good basketball right now, especially JJ Redick. Not a good time of the year to be playing your worst basketball. Oh well, sucks for duke, great for the Heels, as they should finish the season a top 10 team. Simply amazing after losing 91% of their scoring (top 7 scorers from last year).
  19. NBA: Utah @ Denver NFL: Miami @ Buffalo NHL: Anaheim @ Buffalo MLB: Chicago White Sox @ Boston NCAA BB: Louisville @ Syracuse NCAA FB: Miami @ Syracuse
  20. Damn Straight. 4-0 vs. The Bruins this year. 40 saves for Biron. Definetely one of the best goaltending tandems in the NHL.
  21. Cubs are interested also.
  22. And one more thing....I'm saying Syracuse may be able to wedge its way into the NCAAs with a win in the first round of the Big East Tournament (possible opponent: Cincinnati). But what SU really needs is to beat Villanova. In the past few days we've seen Florida State beat Duke, UAB beat Memphis, Texas A&M beat Texas and Kentucky beat Tennessee. What's Syracuse doing to stand out in a crowded bubble? I came across an article in the Philly Daily News today on Villanova getting ready to face the huge crowd on Sunday at the Carrier Dome http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports/14006025.htm
  23. No Surprise Here... Maple Laugh's are getting their asses handed to them again. 4-1 Sabres after 2
  24. He scored 43 points in Denver in that NCAA Tourney Game. He hasn't done s*** since hitting those 6 three pointers in the first half of the National Championship game. Devendorf is already to the level of GMAC as a frosh. Definetely, can't wait for PAUL HARRIS next year.
  25. ahhh The 2nd game of the dreaded back to back. I'll be in Buffalo next Tuesday, when we play you guys. As a matter of fact, we play you guys 5 times in March, Wow.
