  1. ESPN just reported Ray is "alright", and nothing severe as of right now...Great News.
  2. Anyone who saw the Pitt/'Nova game, Allen Ray had a major eye injury and his eyeball actually popped out momentarily. My prayers are with him and his family. Get Well Soon.
  3. I don't get the NHL, they allow guys to fight but a throat slash is a suspension? Give me a break, i have seen players give guys the finger and rip into refs. They have their priorities all backwards. Boynton could've gotten suspended for the spear, since that's actually dangerous to a player's health. What next...fines for harsh language?
  4. Looks like it will be Pitt/SU, both teams playing their 4th game in 4 days. #6 vs a #9 seed, wow. 61-47 Pitt with 1:45 left in the game. Trying to beat 3 ranked opponents in 3 days (#1, #23, #16?)
  5. seriously, we lose to depaul by 39 a week ago, and to Nova on senior day. Like I've been saying so long, McNamara is the guy I want with the ball in the last minute, no one else. They could not have surprised me anymore. At half I thought they had just hit the wall, then they come out all fired up, Matt Gorman is huge and Gerry is just Gerry. How cool was it to see Pearl, Derrick Coleman and Lawrence Moten out on the floor celebrating? Looks like Maryland is playing its way into...the NIT, down 27-8 to BC and #16 Pitt up on #2 Nova 26-19 with 1:50 left in the half. Michigan State up on #9 Illinois by 5 with about 15 mins. left in the 2nd Half. My head is still spinning over these last few days, reminds you of West Virginia from a year ago. G-Mac, overrated? You've got to be kidding me. Gerry's legacy just keeps on growing and we just keep on winning, I still don't really believe it, I'm just waiting to wake up. Nope, I'm not dreaming. http://www.realtimerpi.com/ #16 and moving up.
  6. holy s***, what a game Down 15 at the half, GMAC did it again, hitting 5 three pointers in the second half. How about that for a trilogy? Syracuse made yet another comeback in the Big East Tournament to knock off Georgetown and advance to the championship game Saturday night. Down 57-53, GMAC hit a 3-pointer with 48.4 seconds left to bring the Orange within one point. He then assisted on Eric Devendorf's fastbreak layup with 9.8 seconds left to give SU its only lead of the game. Unreal. First team in BIG EAST history to win a game after having played an overtime game the night before.
  7. All we're missing is St. John's and we have the "vintage big east" Semi's tonight. This is the event tonight to be at in the city. 'Cuse/G'town and 'Nova/Pitt, does it get any better? The garden was absolutely crazy yesetrday. I had some friends that were there for both sessions and said the night session was nothing like the afternoon. Although I think Syracuse will have the strongest fan base tonight, gtown, pitt, and nova will have a ton of fans also...i don't think it's going to be as a decided advantage as we all thing. Either way - I can't wait...the garden is going to be absolutely rocking tonight. If you're a real fan of any of these teams and don't live to far away, i think it would be a crime not to be there. When Gerry steps on that court tonight - the chants will start....what a great venue for the big east tournament...i can't think of a better place to have it.
  8. Bruins D Boynton suspended for inappropriate gesture March 10, 2006 TORONTO (Ticker) - Boston Bruins defenseman Nick Boynton has been suspended one game for directing an inappropriate, threatening gesture to Mike Ribeiro of the Montreal Canadiens in Thursday night's game. The suspension was announced by the NHL on Friday. Under terms of the collective bargaining agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Boynton will forfeit $6,010.20. The incident occurred with 3:47 left in the second period and Boynton was assessed a game misconduct on the play. He will miss Saturday's game against the New York Islanders.
  9. If you want to talk about Big Ten, Big 12, or SEC, by all means, go ahead, who's stopping you? BTW, Wow. What an impact Syracuse's win over No. 1 UConn had on the Orange's RPI and, therefore, it's NCAA tourney status. Syracuse went from No. 39 in Ken Pomeroy's RPI rankings to No. 21 on the strength of Thursday's win. Strength of schedule is now 4th in the country.
  10. Yeah, This game was huge, not just because we needed it to get into the tourny but also because it was such a huge morale booster for the team. We just knocked off the #1 team in the nation after everyone said we were done and werent gonna make the tourny. This was probably the biggest win since the '03 national championship game. Just an outstanding effort from almost everyone on the team. Cogratulations to the Juniors, they finally showed up and played like they were supposed to. Looks like we decided to show up as a team at the proper time of the year. I can't complain when in our first two postseason games we beat two solid programs, AND have all starters in double figures. Gerry came up huge, TRob was great and Mookie looked good out there today... Devo is a stud in waiting if we can keep his temper under control... I'm seeing some upside to this team at the right time of the year. GMac is making good passes and were not taking as many bad shots as a team anymore. I liked what i saw when we were putting the ball on the floor more and looking to penetrate, it opened up our big men alot, and we need those easy buckets... I might go so far as to say we win this crazy mini-dance we call the BET.. Combine todays back to back with yesterday and it makes you wonder if they are starting to get it. It leaves you a little excited about next year now, with 2 All-American's coming in. After the Depaul game I didn't see how they could put it together enough but here we are. There is lots of GMac hating but what about the JB haters. 15-2 in his last 17 games in OT? Wow. I am glad i was wrong, UConn wins 99 out of 100 vs SU (same with last year, they beat us both times in the reg. season and we won in the BET). SU just won when it mattered most to them. When the game is on the line, I'll take GMac 10 times out of 10.
  11. whoa, an anti-'cuse guy AND a yankees fan. ahhhhhhhh wait, don't tell me you're a jets fan too. me and some friends got out of school and went to watch it at noon. I'd say it was worth it.
  12. s***, Sabres and Lightning in a barnburner. 6-5 Sabres with 8 minutes left in the 3rd.
  13. Thank god Samsonov is gone, considering we have to play the bruins 3 more times this month.
  14. Bruins get freakin Marty Reasoner back :what:
  15. If you want to take RPI into consideration, then as of right now, SU is 23 and their SOS is 4. http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_164_Men.html But then again you said RPI matters for Gonzaga, but not for SU. :what:
  16. holy s***, what a game. I'd say we're dancing now. Gerry comes up clutch again. I loved the comments on-air by Bilas and Raftery saying how he was "overrated" but being completely sarcastic about it. Great feeling and a great win. Gerry has now become a Garden legend based on two shots in two games So Much for G-Mac sucking vs Uconn....17 Points, 13 assists. The kid is a winner. Period. He's not the best athlete but he's all heart, all guts. And he's a winner. BTW, Gottlieb is a tool, thinks SU will be in...but says thats whats wrong with college BB. Wasn't Gottlieb the one who got kicked out of ND for credit card fraud?
  17. doubt canucks would do noronen, but they may do biron who knows?
  18. Bryan McCabe a Sabre?!?!? http://boards.hockeybuzz.com/index.php?showtopic=2773 To Toronto: Mika Noronen, Rory Fitzpatrick, Undisclosed Draft Pick
  19. this site say's that buffalo has offered Biron and a second round pick for Bertuzzi. http://insidethecode.blogspot.com/
  20. It's Alex Suglubov who's heading to the Leafs...
