  1. someone can move this to general baseball talk now.
  2. I completely believe Canseco from the beginning. Yeah, he's probably a rat for doing it, but i always thought that he was telling the truth. He had nothing to hide. Why wouldn't any of those people sue him for slander? It's not worth their time? I can tell you this, if somebody accused me of using steriods, I would be mad as hell and sue them. Not for the money but to clear my name. Raffy is a cheater, along with the rest of them. I mean that's why the whole era is tainted. Because like Canseco said, everyone was doing them. Just go back and look at some of the numbers people put up. Brady Anderson? Luis Gonzalez? Bret Boone? the list goes on and on. All I know is canseco is not a liar after all when he mentioned him in his book....he mentioned giambi..palmeiro...looks like pudge is next. It's just something that we have to live with.
  3. "You Know I Don't Speak Spanish"- Ron Burgandy
  4. If it is true. He would have to be the dumbest person I have ever seen .. After sitting in front of Congess .. also if it is true, he has a future in Hollywood, he really seemed pissed off at Canseco at those hearings, even pointing his finger at him...i hope it isn't true, i always thought Raffy was a class act.
  5. i guess WEEI just reported the same thing. Sounds like he tested positive recently.
  6. Yes, like I said i'm not sure if its true or if he's just trying to trick me.
  7. just got a report from one of my friends in new york that palmeiro has indeed tested positive posting in the rumor mill cuz I'm not sure if it's true. They must have changed the test to test for more things. TEST GIAMBI
  8. I read that Groom is pitching for the diamondbacks now.... ....I always liked his name, it just rolls off the tounge, Buddy Groom
  9. wasn't he they guy that gave up the grand slam to ortiz in that 17-1 beating at Fenway? That could be a reason why he didn't get into anymore games....
  10. Heres the August Schedules for the Yankees and Red Sox: Red Sox: 3 vs KC 3 @ MIN 3 vs TEX OFF DAY 3 vs CWS 3 @ DET 4 @ LAA OFF DAY 3 @ KC 3 vs DET 3 vs TB Yankees: 3 @ CLE 3 @ TOR 3 vs CWS 4 vs TEX 3 @ TB OFF DAY 3 @ CWS 4 vs TOR 3 vs KC 3 @ SEA halladay is supposed to be back for that 1st series vs the yankees. Certaintly the schedule looks more favorable to us, but only time will tell. And I think foulke will be back to form after he gets a couple apperances under his belt, since he is not rehabbing at AAA
  11. hahahhaa....does anyone know if theres a plaque in Yankee stadium that the d-rays gave to the yankees for a certificate of complete ownage.
  12. ...also how is lowe working our for you?
  13. my gut feeling is that he will go wiith bellhorn, but tony g. is the better option...and why would he use bellhorn as a defensive replacement when tony g. and cora are both better defensively?
  14. all hail the great manuel ramirez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I think Papelbon should go back and start another 10 games at AAA. At this point, I don't want him in the bullpen because he's got to build up his arm strength for possible use later this season (if someone is injured) and for next year. I want him starting next season and I think there will be a spot for him; I think Arroyo might be traded in the offseason as his value will never be quite this high.....but then again papelbon has showed he can help the sox now, and he was once a RP and our bullpen sucks on the miller saga, people forget that the deal with miller was as much for next year as it was for this. if he can hold off serious arm issues, he might be the best the sox have next season, especially if he pitched like he did against the ChiSox
  16. Does miller have an option for next year, I though we signed him to a 1 year deal with an option? I think hes arbitration eligible next year...
  17. corona, CA? Is that anywhere near manhattan beach, because we bought a condo there last spring?
  18. Okay, we'll probably know what the Red Sox are going to do with him by Monday. But what would you do with him? here are some suggestions: -Wake or Miller vs. Papelbon. Let them go at it for the 5 spot. -He could get 1-2 more starts, but when both return, the Sox would have 7 starters, Schilling included. I would rather see him start in Triple-A than being wasted on the bench in Boston. Plus this is not the time for experiments. The Sox have a 5 game winning streak right now and will face the Royals next then the Twins. The Yankees also seem to have a pact running right now with the devil, so the next couple series seem to be very important. Dont know, if you want your rookie to start in those games. He pitched very good in his first start in Triple-A too, but then got bombed in his second start. And right now, you want your starter to go as many innings as possible. -I would love to see Papelbon get one more start. With nerves aside, and a new mindset on how to pitch to major league hitters, he could be real good -I think we can all agree that we all liked what we saw last night, but I don't think seeing him get lit up next game he starts would be good for him (I'm not saying that he will). I would send him back to AAA, thank him for a job well done, and tell him he will be on the roster full time next season. As for Miller, he pitched well in Houston. Maybe he is 100% healed now and has all his stuff back. Assuming he isn't injured, he could be a #1 or #2 guy. With Houston, his line was pretty nice (when he pitched) -Keep him around as long as he is needed. When the starters have returned if there is a need for long relief in the pen (better than Halama), then he should be looked to for that IF he continues to have success at the major league level. If he falls off, then back to AAA. I was impressed with this start. I would be in favor of leting him run as long as their is a pitching roster spot for him
  19. heres the link to the article... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3842126
  20. Bellhorn is starting his rehab assignmentat pawtucket on monday.....nooooooooooooo! tito I beg you keep tony g as our starting 2B.
  21. so could this be a better hitting mark bellhorn, cuz he does strike out a lot.
  22. would still want to keep stern for his speed, too bad we couldn't get roberts back at the deadline.
  23. OK, so its official- AJ Is staying with the marlins.....only for this season now who will get him in the offseason? surely the yankees, orioles, and red sox will all be in the mix.
