  1. DO NOW DO THIS TRADE!!!! end of story
  2. I would like to be entered in this contest. I need a sox bottle opener so I can open cans of beer at school.
  3. yeah, I watched it last night and it still gave me the chills. I showed it to some people in thailand too, they liked it.
  4. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3832842 4 red sox in top 10 I'm waiting for the 40 man roster to see some of these guys up in the bigs.
  5. At this point they HAVE to entertain offers in my humble opinion. Look, one of your teammates just got drilled off the head with 120 MPH shot of Crawford's Bat. Nixon goes down with an injury and yuor manager comes to you and asks you to suck it up, be a team guy and help out. Manny could care less.*I am tired of Manny's act, I really am. I know he gives you 40 Homers and 130-140 RBI but I am tired of his act.
  6. chacon looks like a huuuuuge pothead
  7. sabres are hinting at going back to blue and gold....woo hoo! "Quinn indicated the Sabres are strongly considering a return to a blue-and-gold scheme, but not for this season. NHL regulations require teams to notify the league of logo and uniform changes a year in advance so merchandise doesn't become obsolete before it can sold. The Sabres have created multiple in-house uniform designs and are about to evaluate forthcoming designs from Reebok" this site had some good pictures of the potential new jerseys: http://www.celsiusdesign.net/sabres/
  8. For anyone who knows anything about hockey, here you go....I think all of these new jerseys in the league blow. I can name at least a half dozen teams that need to go back to the jerseys they were wearing in the early 90's....and I'll do just that LA Kings- Nice purple and silver ghetto crap..now go back to the Wayne Gretzky era black and silver Buffalo- I like they current jerseys..but the blue and gold was way better. Bruins- Get rid of pooh bear 3rd jersey, and go back to plain, good looking Garden era jersey Flames- yeah yeah, everyone loves their red jersey..but the old 1989 style jersey was still better looking Is it just me or has this team gone through 6 different jerseys since 1989? Oilers- Nothing really wrong with the current uni's, but go back to 1980's jersey with the colored shoulders. Re-live your glory, or else. San Jose- Those space monkey suits they wear now are hidious..there was nothing wrong with their first jersey. In fact it was one of the most popular jerseys in the league for several seasons, so why change? Bonus- Ottawa. The white jersey is great..what the hell is up with the butt ugly Melvin Martian red jersey though? It's something I'd wipe with after I take a #2. Go back to black 1992 jersey. It was hard to read the name and number on the back of them, but who cares? I'd rather have trouble seeing that than go blind due to the ugliness of the red jersey.
  9. nomo....maybe once they could get a DECENT SP
  10. plus who knows how clement is gonna be after he got hit in the head, there are still many ? marks in the starting roatation.
  11. NESN reported last night that Joe Thornton rejected the Bruins recent offer. No details, but it didn't sound like there was much dialogue or back and forth. Not surprisingly, it sounded like he just dismissed it out of hand. Sounds like KP Dupont's recent article might be correct -- B's looking to trade Joe because he'll walk next year anyway.
  12. i have insider but don't see an article on pavano, but i've heard the M's want him for winn and menche (sp?) heres what insider said about winn: Sooner or later, if they're going to make the playoffs, the Yankees have to find a way to catch some fly balls to center field. And more and more, Winn looks like their most likely acquisition. The Yankees have talked about Eric Byrnes, but aren't sure he's the answer. They've talked about Jose Cruz Jr., but have big health worries about him. So with Mark Kotsay no longer on the market, that essentially leaves Winn as the one acceptable, obtainable center-field commodity. "There's actually a lot of interest in him," says an official of one team that has been in touch with Seattle about Winn. "He's not an impact player. But he is what he is -- a nice, complementary player." Winn can pick up his own option for next year at a modest $3.75 million. So the Mariners aren't hell-bent to move him -- which is one obstacle for the Yankees. The other hangup is the old, what-do-the-Yankees-have-to-trade problem. The Mariners prefer a young player who can be a regular contributor by no later than next season. So the two teams are having a tough time "finding the right match," according to one baseball official. But it's hard to envision the Yankees not making some kind of move to upgrade center field. And Winn looms as the logical fit.
  13. Division rivals will play eight times this season, and Opening Night delivers an array of divisional contests. The Pittsburgh Penguins visit the New Jersey Devils in a meeting of Atlantic Division clubs, the Montreal Canadiens visit the Boston Bruins in a Northeast Division match-up that harkens to the "Original Six" era, and the Ottawa Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs to resume the "Battle of Ontario," another Northeast Division showdown. http://www.nhl.com/news/2005/07/230980.html
  14. turning point of the season maybe?
  15. haha...yep that is my sig on another forum, got it off the YES Boards, boy are they funny
  16. Excellent job in his first major league appearance. His performance may be lost a bit in such an eventful game. The poise he showed during the game came was mirrored by his post game interview. He seems like a nice young man ...Great to see a rookie step out of OUR bull pen and throw 94 mph. 1-2-3 inning in a pressure situation. I can't wait to see more of the guy. I think the Duquette depletion years are behind us. Love the boys we have now and love the boys we have coming.
  17. just got an IM from a yankee fan cant imagine matt being scared
  18. I think we need to make 1 final push for AJ... I highly doubt Clement will rest for the rest of the season, in the middle of a pennant/playoff race to boot, I was just thinkin at what a mental challenge it would be for matt to step out on the mound again, even if he is OK physically...when he does it I will have gained a whole lot of respect for him. He's a tough competitor and he will do it sooner rather than later.
  19. that would seem like a better deal than the burnett one, their SP is pretty set, but their bullpen (as the case with many other teams) could use some help and aubrey huff never hurts anyone's team, I would do this trade if I was the ChiSox, plus they wouldn't have to give up McCarthy. that would leave us in the running for burnett!
  20. Sam: Q: How serious are the Red Sox going after a young 1st baseman like Texas' Botts or Gonzalez? What about Philly's Ryan Howard? Gordon_Edes: All of those guys would be mighty attractive, but Sam, I think yoiu're talking off-season deals there. And don't forget young D-Backs outfielder Conor Jackson Gordon_Edes: Jackson is still in the minors, of course bilcha: Q: Why the interest in Dmitri Young? Is he really an upgrade to Millar? And what are the chances of the Sox dealing for Young? Gordon_Edes: Wow, u got me on that one...Never even heard his name linked to the Sox. He's got an $8 million option that vests next season...Can't see the Sox doing that one, not even sure where u heard it
  21. Dave_B_: Gordon are the Redsox serious about trading for Jason Schmidt if the Burnett deal falls through? Gordon_Edes: Dave, every indication I've gotten from the giants is that they won't move schmidt. as sabean said saturday, if i move schmidt, i want a schmidt back, and I don't think you can find me one
  22. I think we may overpay for burnett, but I do think we will definetely get another SP especially since clement went down...thoughts?
  23. do you think the yankees pitching problems are worse this year or last year? I mean javy vazquez was at least decent for half the year, right?
  24. hahhaha, another disaster I say...he might pitch 1 good game like leiter but not likely When you're getting released by the DEVIL RAYS, then I can only draw one conclusion: YOU'RE HORRIBLE!!!
