  1. Remember last year when we went into Chicago and people were questioning how good the team was? Yeah, they left Chicago with a 4-game beatdown by a combined score of 45-7. I wouldn't mind that again.
  2. That would be understandable considering how QB starved that division is. Its actually a smart move if the Packers put that clause in.

  4. They give out about 21,500 season tickets a year and currently the waiting list is at about 7,500. http://mike.kruckenberg.com/archives/2006/06/on_the_red_sox_1.html
  5. I would, since they'll probably cut Pennington to make room for Favre.
  6. I'm not convinced. Who's he gonna throw to? Who's gonna protect him? Who's gonna run the ball? Who they got on D? He has to learn an all new system half way through camp in a new league.
  7. Dear Julio Lugo, We wish you the best of luck on all your future endeavors. Sincerely, Boston Red Sox

  9. The Red Sox try to run a very well-oiled business machine and his on and off antics seem to throw a wrench into that machine. He acts outside of the rationale of any reasonable human being. He makes $20 million, the fans adore him and he plays for a winner, but that's not enough to just accept this existence. And, no, I don't know why I quoted your post.
  10. From Buster Olney's latest column:
  11. [update: 6:15pm] Ken Rosenthal just reported during the Fox telecast that the deal is now being held up by the Mariners demand for a top prospect in addition to the Yankees taking the remainder of Washburn's contract.
  12. The way McCarver said it really caught my attention. Theo saying "and you can say this on air" was extremely odd, they might be trying to get the Mets or Phillies attention on National TV. At this point, I'm not sure the Rox would really shop Holliday at this point still being in the race in an NL West that can be won with 1 breakout month for a team (see last year) but given the current Mets farm system they probably do not have enough to net Holliday themselves. Maybe just maybe the Sox could get a solid piece off of the Mets that they can add into a package to get Holliday now. My heart loves the thought of this and I'm not sure how feasible it really is. Obviously, the Mets would prefer to trade for Holliday themselves but that does not appear possible, especially since they are in the same league. What would it take to get a deal done? What could the Sox get from the Mets for Manny? Could Theo possible net Fernando Martinez? We package with Martinez with Bowden and other pieces. Craig Hansen? Would the Rox like Hansen with his contract up at the end of the year? Just fun to talk about.
  13. Wow, you're on a hot streak. Everyone has them, we haven't had ours yet so stop thinking that the Yankees are god's gift to the earth. Thank you for reminding me why I hate the Yankees and there jackass fans.

  15. From a non-bias source (Rotoworld): Mike Lowell was ejected from Friday's game in the ninth inning for arguing balls and strikes. It was a bad call in a big situation, and Lowell was absolutely correct to argue it to the point of getting tossed. In the fourth inning, Lowell was the victim of a called strike on a 3-1 count that was particularly ridiculous, though he went on to walk anyway. He then struck out looking in both the seventh and ninth, and the final pitch in the ninth was also clearly a ball. Jul. 2
  16. Only 3 ahead of the Yankees. Ortiz can't come back soon enough.
  17. I stayed at Embassy Suites last time I came up and will be staying there again when I come up for the August 2nd and August 3rd games. It's near the airport kind of, but it's a short T ride to Fenway.
  18. Time to celebrate the upcoming destruction of Yankee Stadium for the next 5 days, while we sit in first place!
