  1. Ha I still hate the guy but he's got the numbers, can't argue witht he numbers.
  2. I understand banning shirts, but banning the chant? What are they gonna do, throw everybody at Fenway out?
  3. Who would he have been, ummmmm, I dunno maybe the best shortstop of our generation, and argueably the best ever if his career stays on pace.
  4. I actually feel bad for the kid. I mean he probably is 12 years old, there's always that on kid in the class who matures at liek age 10, and he's probabaly really self conscious about the whole thing. I'm sure he's self conscious about his chin beard thing at school, let alone them showing it on Sports Center and PTI for the whole world to know. I dunno I jsut kinda feel for the kid, he's jsut there to play baseball.
  5. He's a the age where careers usually do fall apart (outside of Clemens who is a freak of nature, or juiced). I think George jsut hears a big nae and says "I want him" Not thinking about age and other intangibles that fall into baseball, it's the same tihng with Kevin Brown. Bernie Williams, Tino Martinez, Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson, Al Lieter? Yeah that's worth 200 million in 1995.
  6. Actually I was thinking the other way around Derek Jeter comes to mind. I don't give a s*** about his Gold Glove last year doesn't A-Rod have like 3? If Derek was really the "captain" and the guy who would "do anytihng to better the team" he would be gracious and realize that there is someone coming in who has superior skills to you, you should step aside. The fact that Derek Jeter DIDN'T move is a testament to Edgar and how much he cares. Also there is a HUGE difference in the situations. Alex Rodriguez switched to third because the Yankees already had a bona fide suprstar at short, Edgar said he is willing to move over for a prospect who hasn't proven anything at the major league level yet. But you are right I do give A-Rod full credit for being a man and switching to third even though anyone with a baseball brain would know Jeter should have been the one to switch.
  7. It isn't being short sighted, it's common sense, you have a guy who is on pace to set the record for strike outs in one season, and then you have a guy who is hitting .300, a no brainer. I'm not saying I hate the guy and what he did in the post season of 2004 doesn't matter, or isn't important, but when it's time to go, it's time to go.
  8. Dude shut up they have every right to be here. It's fun having Yankee fans here, makes the conversation more interesting. None of them are overly obnoxious, none of them have been disrespectful, I really don't see what your problem is.
  9. Manny's assists are not jsut because of playing in Fenway, if you watch him his arm is deadly accurate and deceptively strong. He also has a very very VERY quick release.
  10. You would hear it if some had won thier appeal. Appeals aren't exactly easy to keep under wraps.
  11. George probably wants to see his palace finished before he... well ya know.
  12. PLEASE! John Kruk, HAROLD REYNOLDS! (Who I swear sleeps with Yankee sheets at night) ESPN is infested with Yankee lovers.
  13. The thing that impresses me most about the guy is how he took Han-Ram under his wing in spring training. He also said that he would be willing to move to a different position when Hanley was ready. How many athletes in this day and age do that?
  14. Bat control is the one thing that can easily be fixed in young players, once the batting coach gets a hold of him he'll be fine.
  15. Oh wow that's funny. I almost pissed myself when I read this. You were actually shocked when Gammons was wrong about something? The guy does two things, 1. He "breaks the story" on something that everyone knew about two weeks earlier, or 2. Breaks a "story" that never actually happens.
  16. It doesn't matter what you're name is if your 41 years old and have been sucking all season you're probably not going to get better as the season goes along. He's done, the dominant days of his career are over and he's not getting any better anytime soon. Have fun paying another over the hill pitcher 16 million dollars for another two years. Randy Johnson is Kevin Brown II.
  17. I don't know A-Rod typically hits more than Manny. Outside of last year he's hit more HR's than Manny since '99.
  18. Yeah that really means nothing my mom cares about the Sox as much as anyone she asks what would be considered a stupid question all the time, but she tries.
  19. Actually I tihn we were more talented than the Yankees last year, our pitching staff was far superior to thiers. Let's put it this way if Papi had A-Rods numbers and A-Rod had Papi's numbers would any of us be arguing against Papi?
  20. No we signed him knowing that he would struggle early on in the season, after he got healthy he was expected to perform.
  21. In my basement 68 inch wide screen HDTV with surround sound speaker system.
  22. Bynum screwed us, I hope he tears up his knee and never plays in an NBA game.
  23. Ouch that must hurt like a bitch.
  24. He's going to be on Sports Center today 50 States in 50 Days should be interesting.
  25. He got extra time. No one else who had tested posotive before himg got to appeal before the suspension was announced. MLB knew that if they released it earlier less people would watch his 3000th hit.
