  1. Don't forget Arroyo! Our pitching is so good right now...
  2. Uh, according to this thread, apparently he was here today...before we handed out the beating.
  3. Yeah, for all you poll-haters for not having a 5+ option...I explained I knew it, but forgot it, and then once I posted the poll, I couldn't go back and edit it. But apparently tonight, we didn't need that option. Go me. Maybe I should start threads from now on. We win when I start them whenever we don't expect to..
  4. Props to you for calling that. You are a tank.
  5. I agree. I'm a little disappointed though in the fact that we could have easily swept the series if it wasn't for "Send-em in" Sveum... oh well, I think we demoralized them enough tonight.
  6. Hah, no problem. Looks like Wells pitched well tonight though, eh? Have your opinions on Wells changed after tonight Johnny?
  7. That was his SECOND monster shot. The first went like 15 rows into the upper deck.
  8. Are your questions answered now? :harhar:
  9. Actually, I do believe Tino could be considered an *******. I forget where it was, but he was bitching a lot that he didn't want to play there... I believe in St. Louis?
  10. I knew I missed something when I posted it, and then I couldn't edit it
  11. Ok, I guess you're gunna whine about it. You didn't even bother to read my post completely. Point out where I said I didn't agree with you, if you can find a place, because I DIDN'T. I never told you to "shut up," nor did I attack you, yet you use my name and assume I attacked you and didn't agree with what you said. I understand how you're angry that he told you to shut up, but firing back never helps. Just drop it man, and lets all be friends.
  12. Hahahahaah...I wanna see a Yankee try to charge Boomer. At least Boomer would probably beat the s*** out of 'em.
  13. Enjoy your stay.
  14. Welcome to Talksox!
  15. 7 triples?!?!?!
  16. Tonight it's 8:05 on ESPN. I miss Don and Remdawg http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4057_small.jpg #3 David Wells (2-4, 6.81) @ http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4715_small.jpg #35 Mike Mussina (5-2, 3.38) Wow, I don't know where to start. Ok, well David Wells is 16-9 lifetime against the Yankees, and Mussina is 17-13 lifetime against the Sox. There are many questions about this game, a few being: --Will Wells step-up and find out who he is? --Will our offense that showed up yesterday (notably Renteria, Manny, Papi, Olerud) continue to hit? --Are the Yankees hurting from yesterday's rape? I decided to go with a poll on this, shown above. I do believe Wells will settle down. He now knows he is no longer welcome in Yankee Stadium, and I do think he will accept that fact, and shut everyone up. I say he gives up 3 runs, and our offense has his back. The only question is the bullpen. I do believe we will win this game, and get to Mussina. Going to be a very good game.
  17. It is important. This is already our 9th game against the Yanks this season. We only have 10 more left. When you think about it, it's only the second month of the season and we are nearly half done with our games against teh Yanks. EVERY game against the Yankees is important, because these games stand out above all others. I want the Sox to win today, just as I do everyday. I never second guess whether it matters or not to win. Every game in the season is important. When it comes down to the end of the season and a stupid loss earlier in the season that you shoulda won bites you in the ass, then you realize that even those games are important. They do add up, after all.
  18. It is crazy. SportsCenter said it best yesterday. Minnesota is only 4 games back of Chicago in the AL East. Chicago has the best record in baseball. With the teams in the AL East being much better than last year (Baltimore and Toronto have vastly improved), the Wild Card could come out of the Central because the East teams will be beating each other up. This year in the East, you may need to win the division to get into the playoffs. For the East, whoever beats outside division opponents the best will most likely go into the post season, as outside division opponents are sources of wins for AL East teams. It is a crazy thought, and yes, he is a Sox fan. I've been wondering about this whole craziness of the East as well. I believe Baltimore will eventually choke, and I am going to change my opinion of the Yanks winning the East to the Sox. Purely because I believe they are the better team. Better pitching, and better lineup. When both teams are on, I still think the Sox will win.
  19. Wells had one game against you this year...and one last year...you can't judge him by only 2 starts against you. However, this is the only time I will ever compare blowouts to each other. Our huge game was against you, the team we NEED to beat. It boosted our confidence much more and it hurt you more than it will help you. Your blowout was against the Devil Rays. You can't compare our blowout of you to your blowout of the Devil Rays. It wasn't THAT important. You're not going to NEED to beat Tampa Bay down the stretch. We will need to beat you. If we were playing the Rays yesterday I would feel bad for the torture they would have had to endure. It wouldn't have just been 17-1. Against their pitching (which yesterday shown isn't that much worse than yours), it would have looked like a football game. (Not that the one yesterday didn't )
  20. I think she has "changing avatar OCD." Similar to Nomar's whole batting routine.
  21. Derek Jeter isn't an "*******" per se. He plays the game, and he plays the game right. He is one of the few Yankee players that I actually respect. He does his job and almost never disappoints. If he does disappoint, he comes back strong (a la his abysmal performance last year at the beginning with his low .200 avg, then coming back swiftly having a .300+ avg). A SS I don't like...bah I can't really think of any SS's truthfully. Maybe Julio Lugo with that whole case he had to deal with.
  22. Haha. Nice to have you here. Welcome to Talksox, and enjoy your stay!
  23. Haha, if I am him I think they fear me. I am calling tomorrow Shopp has a great game. 2-3 with a double and a single, 1 RBI. More wishful thinking, and probably unrealistic as he likes to take a lot of pitches. But when he connects, we've seen he can CONNECT BABY!!
  24. RSR--you're a tank. And the game was amazing. In referring to Bernie Williams not getting credit for stealing a base (no effort to throw him out by Tek), Joe Buck comments, "And Derek Jeter will not get credit for a stolen base. Err, Bernie Williams rather." I hate Fox. Looking forward to Don and Jerry tomorrow. Wells needs to lay off the alcohol tonight and get a good night's sleep and rest if he wants to be in it tomorrow. Edgar is heating up. Damon is the Messiah. Manny is becoming God again. Papi is getting there. Olerud looks great!!!! (He beat up 2 pitchers today, line drives back to two different pitchers, forget who though.) Bellhorn....still Blowhorn. Nixon, still hot as hell. Quantrill---his ERA should lower sometime in August (gave up a grand slam, a 3-R HR, as well as more runs on different hits throughout his outing today). Hopefully being a Red Sox fan will return to being great.
  25. Damon-THE REAL MESSIAH
