  1. No. He's right. You would think Rivera woulda had more against say the Jays, O's, or Rays. Don't take anything away from Rivera. He's an amazing closer who will dominate any given team. It was just unfortunate that the 6 saves came against the Sox.
  2. Bitch please?
  3. Ok, so I'm a big football jersey fan and I love wearing them, as long as it's an awesome player and not too common (some exceptions are my beloved Pats). I don't care about the team, except it can't be a Jets, Dolphins, Eagles, or Colts jersey because I hate them all. The Bills I can tolerate. So, I'm curious as to what your thoughts are about jerseys. Who should you have in your collection? I'm getting some shirts for Christmas and I wanna get some really good jerseys. I have: Vick, Branch, Givens, Brady, Law (Pats, doesn't count anymore), T. Brown I am looking to opening up my selection in terms of teams. What jerseys would you all recommend I get? Some of the ones I am looking at are: John Elway - DEN (throwback colors) Lofa Tatupu - SEA Shawne Merriman - SD Terrell Suggs - BAL Ray Lewis - BAL Troy Polamalu - PIT Carson Palmer - CIN Chad Johnson - CIN Mike Vrabel - NE Tedy Bruschi - NE Brian Urlacher - CHI Those aren't necessarily "uncommon" (with the exception of Tatupu), but more uncommon ones would be nice. Also, unless you have a really good one, try not to repeat any of the teams in the list. Don't bother if the player plays for the Jets/Dolphins/Colts/Eagles. Hahaha. Thanks guys, my mind has kind of dulled out.
  4. True. He thinks he has such gas that he's invincible. Not true, ho bag Anyways, I can't say I wouldn't have minded if he was on our staff though. I think it's definitely a step in the right direction for the Yankees. They are definitely bolstering up that bullpen.
  5. So far? This deal isn't even done yet.
  6. Ohhh, gotcha. In that case, yes. But as a whole, not MORE valuable. But I understand what you mean.
  7. He isn't MORE valuable than Manny. Possibly as valuable, but not more valuable.
  8. Yeah, don't get your hopes up. We just rolled a very good Bucs team, and our defense is back.
  9. It's okay...I wasn't implying that you smoke pot or anythnig Riverside, sorry if it came out that way..
  10. That would be one helluva rolled up blunt. Jeeeeeeeeez. Just kidding. And no, I don't smoke.
  11. Can't think of an NL team? Lol.
  12. AND THE COLTS WILL LOSE!! Yeah boy!! The Chargers are my heroes.
  13. 7-0 Chargers and they are driving again, over the Colts. So far 2 of the Colts starting lineman have gone down with injuries. Dungie can't like how this is beginning... GO CHARGERS! EDIT: 10-0 now on a Kaeding FG
  14. Man, I totally understand where you are coming from. I thought that SAME EXACT THING with the Renteria deal. But looking at what's in front of us....there was no set deal. I still stand by the fact that I think this was a terrible trade. Like you said, we're overstacked on corner infielders, we have no SS now, no CF, increased salary, and whatnot. In my view, we need a SS quick. And the management needs to find a good replacement before this trade comes into question even more.
  15. True about Papi, but let's remember, it was Papi who said Manny would "definitely" not return to Boston for '06. Which makes me wonder if he really knows what he's talking about half the time. Granted, they are friends, I think Papi will help Manny out. Manny needs to suck it up and play in Boston. When he signed here 5 years ago he knew what he was getting himself into. He makes 20 million a year, and for that kind of money, the least he could do, is play the amount of time he's supposed to, and where he signed. He's getting PAID to play baseball. So do it!
  16. Yeah, see the "Coco Crisp to Boston?" thread.
  17. I personally think that Papelbon should be a full time starter. Arroyo and Clement are too shaky, and Wells is too old to try to be patient with for another year. I think Wells gets traded, and POSSIBLY one of these two: Clement/Arroyo (Preferably, to me, Clement). Arroyo could take Pap's place in the bullpen, and when we ship Wells off somewhere, like I believe we should, we could combine him with Shoppach or another prospect and ask for Khalil Greene in return to play SS, as rumors are that the Padres are pursuing Alex Gonzalez anyway. (I personally believe he has a lot of upside.) Clement, if not traded, would take the 5th spot in the rotation. I think our bullpen is fine as it is right now, and shortstop is a must-fill position immediately. Also, back to the topic at hand, I'm not big on signing Saenez. I believe we should give Hansen a shot as a setup man, and if Foulke busts, hand him the closer role. Schill Beckett Wake Papelbon Clement DiNardo Arroyo Bradford Mota Timlin Hansen Foulke
  18. Don't you mean they come this year? Or is next year the same thing as this year...ugh, I hate how next year can mean the same as this year.
  19. Is it just me or am I the only one who could see Manny just randomly not showing up if he still feels as strongly about Boston as he does now?
  20. No. Absolutely not. The last thing the Pats need is to stupidly rest players. They've got momentum in their hands now, and everyone's coming on strong. Don't crush the momentum by sitting them and then having them thrown into a playoff atmosphere as their first game back. Maybe in their final game against the Dolphins you can have them play half the game, but you can't take them out for the whole game.
  21. Don't forget that in the last 12 quarters the Pats defense has only given up 10 points. Not too bad for whats become a desperate and patched-up secondary. Colvin and McGinest, being the converted DE's that they are, really know how to get after the QB. That's one of the special aspects to this team. If Bill wanted to, he could put Colvin and McGinest on the D-Line for a few plays because they've been there before. In short, it was great to see the Patriots of old come back and really take it to a great team with an incredibly solid defense.
  22. Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL. I don't want to hear anything about Manning. Until Manning has 3 superbowl rings, and doesn't choke in a big game, I will always take Brady over Manning. Always.
  23. Sound like a good loyal fan to me! Nice to have ya!
  24. I disagree with you on the topic that the teams have put the Patriots out of their thoughts. All you hear these days from everybody is "until the Patriots are knocked out of the playoffs, they are the best team in the NFL" or the "team to beat." I think this only made teams even more scared in that the team they knew they couldn't count out (the Pats), just steam rolled a damn good and talented opponent. Granted, the Jets beat the Bucs too, but the Bucs have the second best defense in the league and we put up 28 on them. We also got our first shut out in 36 games, and the Bucs were blanked for the first time in 103 games; dating back to '99. Another awesome fact is the rushing yards where the Pats rushed for almost 200 yards more than the Bucs, 336 yards - 138 yards. I do agree with you however, that the Pats are back and Peyton will be seeing one hell of a different team than he did in early November. The Pats are getting healthy at the right time, and suddenly, there is a huge amount of hope for the players and fans alike.
  25. Or, it could be Arroyo depending on future moves for starters.
