  1. You think Cardinals when you hear Julian Tavarez? That's because that's the team he was with last
  2. I don't know what I was thinking that night....
  3. Well, if they traded Rowand, to them it was more of a Thome for Manny trade. And, seeing how Thome was injured and he's aging, he's unpredictable. Manny would definitely fill the gap that Thome left. Of course, this is a dead issue, or so it seems, so there's not much to speculate about anymore.
  4. See: 2005 Chicago White Sox. The story of small ball and dominant pitching.
  5. Bump. I feel like talking about NFL stuff. Anyone got anything interesting to talk about? Also, if you haven't made your picks yet, don't forget to do so! I know some people are waiting until Friday to think more about it. Good luck to everyone this week!
  6. What the f***? We're almost as bad as Yankees fans? We don't rub s*** in anyone's faces EXCEPT for the Yankees fans that have given us s*** up until 2004...whatever. People just hate New England because it's the best sports region around
  7. Part of the whole joke in case you didn't realize it. I love how off-topic this has become. YanksHater was doing it, Stocker was doing it, and I was. Besides, why would you tell YanksHater about your random troubles at school? You obviously knew he was going to tell people.
  8. , Marte can't be in LF and RF at the same time. I think you meant Marte in LF, Rowand in CF, and Nixon in RF? Correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. A REASONABLE one, that is
  10. Why's he wearing sandals in the hockey rink?
  11. Burrell? Yum! If we get Abreu AND Burrell I'm a happy man. That's when we can just make Cora the SS.
  12. Example please? I would love one.
  13. Well, I could believe this thread if you spelled "Abreu" right in the thread title. Hah, just playin. Just because he called the Eric Milton and Billy Wagner signings means nothing. I'll believe it when it's on ESPN or one of the local news stations.
  14. No, he's breaking some kid's neck
  15. Seriously. Like not looking where he was stepping, or lifting up his leg for the purpose of stomping on the leg.
  16. Plump dug it up.
  17. Ugh. If Mangini goes our defense is gunna be shaken up again.
  18. Welcome to you!
  19. Yes. Pierce is a pimp. Welcome Hahah Yankshater, you're the man
  20. That's all good and all, but that's some high hopes for that Chicago defense to bring it all the way down the redzone everytime. The Chicago offense will NOT move the ball against the Carolina D.
  21. EDIT: wtf... why was the posting weird a minute ago..
  22. You mean when he stomped on Dumervil's leg? WHOA, RSR, YOUR AVATAR JUST WAVED AT ME. I DIDN'T KNOW IT DOES THAT!
  23. Who cares? It's not like their linebackers are that good anyway. If you're trying to ask if the Giants had any presence like Urlacher, the answer is no. And even if they had their healthy starting linebackers, there's still no Urlacher-esque presence there. The Giants are skilled with names like Strahan and Umenyiora up front. They're not known for much else. The Panthers attacked the secondary a lot. Linebackers aren't part of the secondary. Steve Smith was who needed to be stopped, and he simply wasn't. That's the secondary's fault.
  24. I don't think they'll be as good as everyone thinks. A.J. Burnett is unproven. They ridiculously overstacked their corner infield positions. They gave up a great defensive glove with a solid bat in Orlando Hudson for Troy Glaus and a minor leaguer, leaving them a defensive gap straight up the middle. Their OF is alright, with Vernon Wells anchoring it, but it's not great. They overpayed for BJ Ryan, who had his first full year as a closer, who's to say he'll repeat that? Their rotation is solid, but it banks on Burnett a lot. Halladay will be back, definitely will add to their win total, Lilly is a Sox killer, but overall, it's not that deadly. If Burnett flops, they're f***ed. We shall see. I would still take the Sox from top to bottom over the Jays, assuming we actually do fill the CF and SS gaps
  25. FOX most likely. Always covers the NFC games.
