  1. Only Troy Polamalu? Does Deshea Townsend ring a bell? If not, what about Ike Taylor? Hm.... maybe Chris Hope? They have a strong secondary to go along with their front 7. If anything, their D line isn't as strong as the rest of their defense. Their linebacking core is amazing, with Porter, Farrior and Foote leading the way. Von Oelhoffen is really their only decent D-lineman. Hell, when Polamalu blitzes he gets better penetration then their D-line does. Their secondary is solid, and it's better than Denver's, which is led only by Champ Bailey and John Lynch. I don't really think it's as good as Pitt's. The Pats could move the ball through the air, the best offense in the league in the Colts couldn't do anything....for the most part.
  2. [offtopic] ahhchon would fight to the death with you about being the biggest Pedro fan. [/offtopic] Continue.
  3. I agree with 700. Harris is nothing special, and hearing about a signing like this doesn't make me happy or excited, but I'm indifferent to it. Okay, it's another guy who can run for us, but the point is he can't bat... if I remember correctly he has a .196 career batting avg. and he's nothing more than a late innings pinch runner. Those don't normally make me happy, but I'm not saying I'm not happy...
  4. Sure I'll thank him for the players he brought in but I still think the guy's nothing special. I mean honestly, we wouldn't have had Millar at 1B all these previous seasons if Duquette was nice to Teixeira's family, if memory serves me right. Didn't he pressure or bully Teixeira into signing quickly or make a quick decision and Mark's father didn't like it, so he wouldn't let him play in Boston? I think it was something like that.
  5. As good of a team as Denver is, I still believe that it was more of a Patriots' loss than a Broncos' win. The Steelers went into Indy, made Peyton their bitch, and left with a win. I believe Carolina is a better team than Seattle, although I would rather have Holmgren coaching my team in the playoffs than John Fox SOLELY because of the experience Holmgren has. Then again, Fox HAS been to a Superbowl before. Pittsburgh/Carolina superbowl anyone?
  6. I wouldn't be surprised, if he is drafted, to see him the 3DRB for the Pats, especially in the redzone. Sure, Dillon's a bruising RB, but once it gets to the redzone and 3B, and after having carried the load of the running plays, White would be great to have to use his own bruising body and push right through for the score or 1st down. He'd be a great pick up, but don't get disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the top 10.
  7. Did you read what he said before? He thinks Soriano would come to Boston just because Manny and Papi are here and they're Dominican. That's not the case.
  8. So, guys like Schilling, Damon *gasp*, Manny and Papi are supposed to suck just because they can't handle pressure in Boston? They were proven players before they came (with exception to Papi), and they exploded even more in Boston. Schilling had next to no protection in Arizona. Damon, none in KC and not too much in Oakland. Manny from Cleveland? Not to mention Papi wasn't doing too well in MINNESOTA. But when tehy come to Boston, they explode. You also make it sound like Graffanino is the everyday starting 2B. RELAX. He's not. I honestly have to ask if you have a brain if you're THAT concerned about having Loretta at 2B. He has a career .301 average... Your post above speaks way too much of Graffanino. Let's remember, you're criticizing a BENCH PLAYER. Graff will not start over Loretta. And Soriano won't be here either. And NO, the "Dominican influence" on this team will not influence his opinion. But anyway, just because he's from San Diego and hasn't been at a big market exposure yet, doesn't mean anything. Anybody can crack under any pressure. Renteria thrived in a HUGE baseball city in St. Louis, but led the league in errors and didn't have his best year at the plate either, with us. Lay back, take a chill pill, and enjoy the moves being made. Manny's staying most likely, and his numbers will kick ass once again. If we get a decent CF (Reed or Crisp) that can defensively play well, then yes, Cora at SS will work. But we have Theo back now, and look for something to be done.
  9. Sign him (Griffey) for a year with a second year option. See how Ellsbury does in the minors.
  10. David Stern! I would welcome Griffey with open arms.
  11. Good point RSR. I never thought that Griffey could be used in the 5 hole until you just brought it up. That 3-4-5 in Manny, Papi and Griffey is as good, if not better, than the 3-4-5 of Thome-Konerko-Dye or whatever order they go in.
  12. Hm. What do you guys think it would take to get Jorge Cantu? And do you think he could convert to SS?
  13. Well, right. I understand the suspension, and I think that's fine, but when you look at FIVE games for this small of an offense, it's just not right. Look at the other suspension handed out...Keyon Dooling got 5 games for fighting with Ray Allen. This was way too harsh. What Stern is saying by sending out this suspension is: Antonio Davis going into the stands to protect his wife is just as bad as Keyon Dooling fighting with Ray Allen. I'm sorry, but at the appeal this suspension needs to be reduced, assuming there is an appeal. Antonio Davis is one of the most respectable people in the league and there's no way he deserves this punishment.
  14. Overstatement of the century. But I get what you're saying Yes, Stern loves to make statements through his punishments/fines and other actions. But by sending this message, he's saying it's not okay to protect your family. He needs to get off his high horse, as sit the f*** down for once and respect a player for defending his wife.
  15. Hope it's something important. Glad to have him back.
  16. I personally see where Stern is coming from, but in a matter like this, I can't see how you can hand out a suspension. Sure, he broke a league rule, but when he entered the stands, he was peaceful and civil, and didn't threaten anyone. He went in there because he believed his wife was in danger, and I would hope that any other player would get the same instinct to do so. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2298096 If anything, you suspend him one game. Not five, that's just too much, as he was only trying to protect his wife.
  17. Stay away from the f***ing lemon party at all costs. You dirty bastard!
  18. He was kidding.... You know, sarcasm.
  19. That irritates me. A lot. I hope that Colts' o-line gives Manning and Polian what they deserve: A heavy dose of sacks. You do not talk about your o-line that way. You get on your o-line's bad side, and they won't do s*** for you. Plain and simple. Blame the coaching staff for not preparing the o-line well enough. That Indy o-line is too good for it to have just been their fault alone.
  20. Hey Ryan, glad to have ya.
  21. I hope to God it's a Superbowl of wildcards. I will be so f***ing pumped if I have sole possession of first place I might just s*** myself.
  22. Nah, I love Peppers. I'll still wear it even if they do lose. But yeah, Carolina will go to the Superbowl. I don't know if they'll win, but they'll definitely get there. I think Holmgren is great, but John Fox is one of the most underrated coaches out there. Plus, I just think Carolina has a better overall team. Not to mention they're the best road team in the league.
  23. Still doubting my Panthers?
  24. Look 2 pages back (page 37)
  25. Says someone who's been here since mid-2004. There's NO reason to start ranking people.
