  1. Oh man, when ORS makes it rain, it pours.
  2. Riverside, I sent you an offer.
  3. The only positive coming out of this is that the Yankees would be just as jet-lagged as the Sox when they come back to play in the US. That said, it's a terrible, terrible idea to take two powerhouse teams like that and make them play in Japan to open the year. Does anyone know who makes the final decision? Is it John Henry's decision on whether or not the Sox do it? Because if that's the case, I'll picket outside Fenway Park.
  4. For Tavarez? No idea. Do they have any useful relievers?
  5. I fully expect that we will rock Ponson and win easily. Last night sucked, but it happens. I'm not worried a bit. This team has been playing very well without all cylinders rolling. So, I can't wait to see what they look like when everything's going as it should.
  6. BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. But...that's the rally monkey... I must say, there are quite a lot of people contributing to the mojo. I'm starting to wonder if it's a good or bad thing. It used to be just ORS and myself (the dynamic duo with mojestical mojo), but now it's like the spastic sixteen with random and off-topic mojo.
  8. I know, I hit submit by accident before I was finished, lol. It's all good now. I even switched mojo pics. Wake and Rodriguez? I know Wake was there, but lol, who were you referring to with Rodriguez? Silva or Santana?
  9. Tavarez and Santana. Yummy. Please, offense, give us some life. Not much to say about this one other than GO SOX! And oh, by the way, it seems as though the "schillingouttheks" mojo likes winning streaks Game Info: Date: Saturday, May 5th, 2007 Teams: Boston Red Sox (19-9) @ Minnesota Twins (15-14) First Pitch: 7:10pm EDT Venue: Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, Minneapolis, Minnesota TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/5103.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6441.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#51 Julian Tavarez (1-2, 7.58) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/min.gif#57 Johan Santana (3-2, 3.60) Mojo of the day: http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/MCG/PF272~Praying-Hands-Posters.jpg PRAYING FOR A WIN MOJO! Yeah...if Tavarez beats Santana it'll be lucky, but I'll be happy. Also, some bonus mojo: http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/9/9d/250px-Angry_Beavers.gif ANGRY BEAVERS MOJO! STAY ANGRY.
  10. I think the announcer blew the biggest load of his life.
  11. That choke was almost as bad as a certain 2004 choke, but not quite.
  12. So, onto Minnesota. The site of a depressing 3-game series sweep of our Sox last year. We send out Wakefield, Tavarez, and Schilling this weekend. I would like to see 2/3 wins because I don't see it as an impossible feat. Saturday with Tavarez vs. Santana will be really tough, but let's not count it out just yet. Santana typically starts off kind of slow...maybe we can catch him before he settles into his normal self? Anyway, just win you bunch of losers. GO SOX! Game Info: Date: Friday, May 4th, 2007 Teams: Boston Red Sox (18-9) @ Minnesota Twins (15-13) First Pitch: 8:10pm EDT Venue: Hubert H. 13. Did Proctor throw really, really hard when he first started with the Yanks? For some reason I remember him throwing 98-99... Maybe it was a busted radar gun...
  14. I didn't forget about them. In fact, I'll add Cuddyer in there, he's not too shabby either. Actually...I retract my statement. They have at least 4 forces in that lineup with Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, and Hunter (who seems to be ripping the cover off the ball lately...contract year I guess). They're not the strongest bunch overall, but they can get the job done. I still think Hill/Overbay/Wells/Thomas is a better overall group than the Twins'. Whatever, the point is that the Twins aren't as weak as I thought they were. They can get on base and cause lots of problems. If we can get around Mauer, Morneau and Hunter we'll be fine. They don't really have anyone to pick them up.
  15. Have fun. You'll laugh a few times.
  16. An extra day off after a long inning 2 nights ago. He's not hurt. He was actually pissed that he wasn't being used tonight.
  17. This is quite possible as well.
  18. Oh, for some reason I thought the rained out game was Tuesday. My bad. You have the Mariners in the Bronx tomorrow, right?
  19. I'm also pretty sure that the lineup he'll be facing this time out is the weakest of the 3 teams that will have thrown out their aces against him by the end of Saturday's game (New York, Toronto and Minnesota). Hopefully he can take advantage of that and just keep the Sox close. Santana seems to start out slowly anyway, so hopefully he hasn't settled into his groove yet.
  20. He'll also have another test this Saturday against the Twins. He opposes Johan Santana
  21. That's not good on the 'pen, especially with the workload they've already accumulated. Not to mention it's game 2 of a DH.
  22. *gulp* Santana vs. Tavarez on Saturday night.
