  1. Christ almighty. Just let Matsuzaka go all 9, we don't need our 'pen...thank God.
  2. Good for Coco. We need him to start hitting and giving great at-bats. Despite that, I'd rather see WMP in CF tonight.
  3. f*** the Spurs and the league's s***** commish. I hope the Jazz find a miracle and send these *******s back home ASAP. Great team, but dirty.
  4. I feel stupid because it was a tongue twister
  5. First game of interleague play, and game 1 of a double header today. Baseball all day mofos. And the Yanks/Mets are on FOX today, so if you don't get forced to watch another game, you can watch that too. Sweet. Aight, c'mon Sox, sweep another DH. My mojo's not ready to stop yet! Game Info: Date: Saturday, May 19th, 2007 - Game 1 Teams: Atlanta Braves (25-16) @ Boston Red Sox (28-12) First Pitch: 1:05pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://pics.forecaster.ca/mlb-player/4195.gifhttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://pics.forecaster.ca/mlb-player/6423.gif http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/atl.gif#50 Anthony Lerew (0-1, 6.52) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#18 Daisuke Matsuzaka (5-2, 4.17) Mojo of the day: http://www.gophila.com/assets/dmt/images/1.RockyBalboa-G.jpg PUT THE BRAVES DOWN FOR THE COUNT!
  6. First game of interleague play! I know RedSoxRooter has amazing mojo for interleague, so maybe when IL starts he can pick up the mojo after someone else's turn is over. We'll see. We couldn't have picked a better match-up for a spot starter. Anthony Lerew is a scrub from Atlanta, but then again, we haven't seen him before. I remember someone by the name of Kyle Davies who stifled the Sox a few years back as a member of the Braves. Anyway, we have Smoltz tomorrow and Hudson on Sunday. Beckett has landed on the DL, so get better quickly, Josh! Every pitcher needs to sack up and throw quality starts. Anyway, now that our lineup doesn't have to be split up between two games, hopefully it can tee off on Lerew and treat the NL teams like they're supposed to be treated by AL teams. GO SOX! Too bad that this game could very well be rained out Game Info: Date: Friday, May 18th, 2007 Teams: Atlanta Braves (25-16) @ Boston Red Sox (28-12) First Pitch: 7:05pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7652.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7897.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/atl.gif#50 Anthony Lerew (0-1, 6.52) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#46 Devern Hansack (0-0, 13.50) Mojo of the day: http://www.gophila.com/assets/dmt/images/1.RockyBalboa-G.jpg PUT THE BRAVES DOWN FOR THE COUNT!
  7. Well, Stallone wasn't my motivation, it was moreso that the "Eye of the Tiger" mojo worked for Julian, so I just went with Rocky-themed mojo. If I had based the mojo on Stallone, we never would have won tonight Anyway, looks like Hansack's starting tomorrow. Just heard it on the postgame.
  8. Woooooo! I thought for sure that my mojo was going to live only one day because normally we always split double headers, but it lives on! Long live the Rocky mojo!
  9. Gross. Eh, it's not terrible actually. It's by no means a good lineup, but at least Tito left enough of a balance between lineups between the day game and night game. Thank God Youk, Lowell, and Varitek are hitting well right now and that we aren't facing good pitchers with our s***** lineups today. Who closes tonight if need be? Best case scenario is that Schilling pitches 9...but with his age it's kind of unlikely. Donnelly closes?
  10. Ok, game 2 of the double header. Just win again, d-bags. GO SOX! Game Info: Date: Thursday, May 17th, 2007 - Game 2 Teams: Detroit Tigers (24-15) @ Boston Red Sox (27-12) First Pitch: 7:05pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6371.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4267.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/det.gif#52 Chad Durbin (3-1, 5.08) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#38 Curt Schilling (4-1, 3.63) Mojo of the day: http://artfiles.art.com/images/-/Sylvester-Stallone---Rocky-III-Photograph-C12150466.jpeg MORE ROCKY MOJO!
  11. Yeah, I just got home from school/baseball practice. I already made the thread, it's sitting in my PMs right now. I'm going to post it now.
  12. Okay, I fixed the starters so my mojo can work now
  13. Oh, damn. You're right. I completely got the whole extrapolation of the rotation messed up in my head. Hopefully we can have scenario 1 and pitch Gabbard instead of Tavarez. The Yanks have a lot of trouble with guys like Gabbard.
  14. So, it's Gabbard for sure?
  15. Ok, game 1 of a double header. Just win, d-bags. GO SOX! And oh, if the Sox win, I'll be back in time to make the game 2 thread, so if it's close to game time don't freak. I'll have it up. I have baseball practice after school so that's why. Game Info: Date: Thursday, May 17th, 2007 - Game 1 Teams: Detroit Tigers (24-14) @ Boston Red Sox (26-12) First Pitch: 12:35pm EDT Venue: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts TV: NESN Starting Pitchers: http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/7783.jpghttp://bellsouthpwp.net/c/h/chinigor/TALKSOX/VS.GIFhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/5103.jpg http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/det.gif#31 Zach Miner (No 2007 starts made) http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/mlb/images/team_logos/50x50/bos.gif#51 Julian Tavarez (1-4, 6.60) Mojo of the day: Julian's got some experience using his fists. And since we're playing the Tigers... http://www.anticoemoderno.it/Antico/Vinile/ingrandimenti/Nighthawk%20-%20Eye%20of%20the%20tiger.jpg USE THE EYE OF THE TIGER, JULIAN! KNOCK 'EM OUT!
  16. Go to http://www.yankees.com and look at the picture they have of Wang on the front page. Hilarious!
  17. I posted this in the gamethread, but I'll re-post it here: What sucks about tonight's game being postponed is that now we have Tavarez going on 4 days rest against the Yanks on Monday. What I hope to see is Beckett back on Monday on extended rest and then have Schilling and Matsuzaka pitch on normal 5 days rest to finish out the series. That's best case scenario, obviously. Then, if Beckett's back on Monday against the Yanks in the first place, hopefully he can take Tavarez's spot again that following Saturday against the Rangers after an off day on Thursday. That postpones Tavarez for 2 starts...I like. Luckily, whoever gets called up from Pawtucket is facing Lerew, so we should win that game anyway (thank God our call-up is going against a NL lineup, even if it is Atlanta that we're facing).

  19. Soooooo, should I make a thread for game 1 tomorrow or should we just use this?
  20. We're lucky that it was the Friday start. We have one of the Braves' scrub pitchers that day. Good thing we're not losing Wake or Matsuzaka against Smoltz and Hudson.
  21. But, a strikeout is better than grounding into a double play, right?
  22. Beckett will miss his next start against the Braves, but won't be DL'd because they want him to pitch against the Yanks early next week. On a similar note, Smoltz will pitch through his finger injury against the Sox on Saturday. Per Rotoworld.
