  1. That's why I said it's unrealistic. I'm just curious to see how you guys value Holliday. Who would you give up in the Sox organization to obtain the guy if you were interested in him?
  2. You wouldn't be able to acquire him in a trade. He's a FA.
  3. This would most likely never ever happen, but just for kicks (since we're talking about the Rockies): Who would you give up for Matt Holliday?
  4. You mean HALLADAY? Holliday is a stud OF on the Colorado Rockies. Rule about fantasy sports: Know how to pronounce your draft picks' names.
  5. If the rotation continues as is without any injuries or skipped starts, and if Clemens really does return again on June 1st, it'll be Clemens vs. Wakefield.
  6. Ok. That's worse than the $25M I was using as an example. For that amount of money, they can have the 44-year-old. And don't ever criticize the Matsuzaka move ever again. He's younger, has more pitches, and we have him for quite a long time. We're getting a lot more out of our deal than the Yankees are out of theirs. Eh, let me re-phrase that last sentence. The Matsuzaka deal is a lot better. If Clemens helps bring a world series to NY, they'll get quite a lot out of it.
  7. Thank God we don't face Halladay or Chacin this week.
  8. Gom, why can't you see the difference in the $51 million we paid Seibu and Matsuzaka's $52 million contract? The $51M is equivalent to an investment in the Far East. Think of it as adding $51M of upgrades to Fenway Park. It's no different. They basically took the $51M and said "Hmm, let's plant a Red Sox flag in Japan instead of upgrading here at home." There's so much more behind that $51M than you're restricting yourself to see.
  9. Okay, so assume they gave Rocket $25 million for 4 months of the baseball season (maybe October). He's 44. If you haven't noticed, the Red Sox have Matsuzaka for, let's see, about 6 or 7 times as long as the Yankees will have him? Not to mention that Daisuke is what, 18 years younger? You can't possibly think that this Clemens deal at $25 million is better than Matsuzaka's deal. If you do, you're wearing pinstriped sunglasses.
  10. If that's the case, then whoever got on the Sox' back about Matsuzaka needs to get the f*** off.
  11. I just wonder how much they paid him...
  12. This is exactly why we need to win as many games as possible, and right now. We need to bury the Yankees while they're down and make it very tough for them to climb out when they're healthy.
  13. What the f*** are you smoking? You're in denial if you think Boston has a better shot at a title. Just wait until the Yankees get healthy.
  14. Good. I hope he goes back to New York and gets treated like a 44-year-old pitcher should.
  15. Yankees lead 2-0 on an Abreu single.
  16. Um...Phelps ran over Johjima for no reason. He wasn't even blocking home plate. Could that have been called interference?
  17. Great job by Drew... Why send Ortiz? Ponson sucks. There's a good chance that second run would have come in anyway.
  18. Ortiz walks. 1st and 2nd with 1 down for Yooouuuuuk.
  19. Oh God. Did you seriously just play the "you guys have no lives" card while you are an active participant in this exchange?
