  1. yea what is that suposed to be i no its a manatee...but whats it doing
  2. yea this reminded me of reggie bush's tape...he seems to have lots of potential
  3. I am annoyed by the argument that he didnt have huge career numbers; he was one of the most feared hitters of his time and was completely dominant. I read somewhere (not that this matters at all, just interesting) that he hit 16 consecutive homers in BP. He shouldnt be not considered just because he knows when to retire and he didnt keep playing until his limbs fell off; some people play for so long that are not of very high caliber and they look better than they really were becuase they have racked up lots of homers or hits or whatever.
  4. wow how much opinions change on this board...last year i strated a similar thread and most poeple said no way his career numbers arent good enough http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2469
  5. haha...im not to siked on getting reed or crisp, especially crisp only because the Guardians want so much for him
  6. I dont think they will do that; keep in mind that hes only been out of college for a couple of years and the sox are probably not going to trade straight up for a 2b who is sure to start like they did with loretta if they wanted pedroia at 2nd. It doesnt make sense to shift Pedroia around AGAIN back to SS for a 2b who they only have on contract for one year. It seems to me that Loretta is here to give Pedroia some more time to develop.
  7. but its true, hes not what he used to be by any stretch of the imagination
  8. Yea but the truth is, he isnt that great anymore. I was watching epsn news and an analyst said that nomar would be a utility infielder, at best.
  9. wow this article is siickk
  10. Yea pedroia is absolutely sick and i think we took advantage of the excessive press that hanley has been getting. I think he has not produced as much as he should have this year considering his expectations, and I am very excited to have Pedroia in the near future, i met the guy and got his autograph like 3 days before he was sent up to AAA, it was sick.
  11. So then the picture you use as your avatar means as much as a rbi base hit? Is that what you are trying to say???
  12. They were still very silent , maybe not completely, but still, they were not behind him through it all, (well, maybe Jeter, but thats another story), and if they really did like him then they would have been.
  13. Okay, Micheal Kay fan club, take your buisness elsewhere.
  14. Refardless of the "faulty sources" you speak of, the example still remains of none of his teammates defending him before the season. Does that show that he is a team player loved by all? If someone said something about David Ortiz, the whole country would be defending him. Hes not only loved by all on his team, EVERYONE (opponenets excluded) love him. I think that shows how much of a locker room presence he is and how well liked he is by his teammmates. That is value: production and chemistry. Also, whats this that I am hearing about how important A-Rod is to his team? The Yankees would have went out and bought another big name for their hot corner. The numbers wouldnt have been the same, but comparable enough to have kept the Yankees in the race. Keep in mind that if you take A-Rod out of the equation, then that doesnt mean you also take out his position, someone else plays instead. Also, he had the tendency to rack up stats in a game the Yankees win by 20 runs. Is that valuable? By the way, I would like to thank him for getting his ass kicked by VTek in '04 to spark our historic run. I guess he was of value to us then.
  15. but i think we can all agree that joe castiglione rocks
  16. wait, who is the dead weight in the sunday night baseball announcer duo? i personally like their announcing
  17. it figures that a wall street journal writer (CONSERVATIVE PAPER) would complain about a liberal umpire
  18. yea it wasnt meant to be this year...but the stats are definetely interesting
  19. um i HATED the 406 club. they expect you to dress up and nobody cares about that game they just sit there and quietly clap when something happens, and your shut out form the whole atmosphere, they had microphones at the monster so that when a ball hit it, you would hear this loud clang that sounded so unauthentic...just very lame
  20. carlton fisk rules
