  1. I don't think Delgado wants to play for an American team because he is not happy with America's decision to go to war. He showed this by going to the clubhouse when God Bless America was played in Yankee Stadium.
  2. Joe Morgan is in Cooperstown for the ceremonies so Rick Sutcliffe will be calling the game tonight.
  3. What the hell are you talking about 3rd place in the AL East. WE are only a half game out of a freakin playoff spot and people are already giving up on the season. They have the ability to turn it around at any moment and if they pull off a long winning streak We'll be ahead by 3 or 4 games in the wild card
  4. Jon pitched against Palm Beach on Thursday. He gave up 2 runs in the 1st and shut them out the rest of the way. He went 5 innings with 3 hits and 2 walks, while giving up 2 runs and striking out 5. He had a no decision.
  5. David Ortiz was suspended 5 games for his actions in Saturday's game against the Angels. The suspension will start Friday unless he appeals it which he plans to do. He would then be able to play until a hearing is held.
  6. Red Sox today acquired Ricky Gutierrez today from the Cubs for a player to be named later. He will be there tomorrow which means there will have to be another roster move made which could be that Youkilis may be sent down. They also have to call up the mystery starting pitcher for tomorrow which should be Frank Castillo.
  7. It will be Bellhorn at short, Mueller at second and Youkilis at third.
  8. Me and Yankshater both live in Andover, MA
  9. I think Pedro's pitching against them this week. It should be very interesting.
  10. Good to see that the greatest name in all of baseball, Hiram Bocachica is playing today for the M's,after his sweet catch yesterday.
  11. Jon pitched 4 innings tonight against Lakeland. He gave up 4 hits, 3 runs and 2 walks and struck out 5. He picked up his 5th loss of the season.
  12. I heard somewhere that 3 teams were interested in Delgado the Dodgers, Red Sox and another team which I can't remember. But as I have said I think we should focus on another starter.
  13. Judging by our number 3 starter's performance last night I think the answer is obvious.
  14. It was for the better because now he actually has a chance to play.
  15. They were talking about this on the radio the reason they did it was because his 30 day rehab stint had expired and they had to activate him or release him. They don't want to release him because they think thye might have a chance to trade him to someone like Baltimore. I don't expect him to be on the roster very long.
  16. Here's some more stuff I found about Lester from the Sarasota website. Just some interesting tidbits. Jon's favorite player growing up was Ken Griffey Jr. He like Iranian food and the color blue. His most memorable moment was in high school when he threw a 19K no-hitter. Jon's biggest accomplishment was being named WA's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2002. He likes to fish, hunt, golf, play cards, and play computer games. If he wasn't playing professional baseball, he would be attending a university. Jon is 4-4 with a 3.88 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) and has 54 strikeouts in 48.2 innings this year.
  17. If there was a trade I would think that the PawSox management would be one of the last to know so I really don't think there is any credibility to the rumor.
  18. Hey, I'm back. The latest update I've had on Lester is that he's been back from his injury and that he had 6 K's on July 5th sorry I don't have any more recent or detailed updates. His next start is scheduled for Friday.
  19. The defense hasn't made an error in the last 2 so I don't know why your telling them now to catch the ball.
  20. What Nomar did last night was a despicable act. Your team is playin the freakin Yankees and are in danger of falling 8.5 games back in the division and he's moping in the dugout like we're supposed to be sorry for him because his heel is "sore" and that he almost got traded. When everyone else was standing on the top step of the dugout rooting for their team, Nomar was just sitting there as if he couldn't care a bit about the game. All of the people who think that Nomar is better than Jeter are dead wrong. Jeter hustles for every ball on every play he knows exactly where to be on every play and is an all around team player. Nomar couldn't care less and he laughs about it when he makes an error. I think the best thing that we can do is trade the overpaid baby and get someone who can perform in the clutch and actually wants to play here.
  21. Thanks for the permission.
  22. Red Sox acquired Puffer for a player to be named. Just another unproven guy to try to stable the bullpen. Here's a link http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=1833460
  23. The Sports guy is always the guy that I love to read when I visit ESPN.com. Especially when he makes fun of Crespo.
  24. I agree with Calvin. Brenly is a very good manager who is the scapegoat for the D-backs's poor performance this year.
  25. They acquired Anderson for Sarasota closer Andrew Shipman and a player to be named later. Anderson may replace Williamson in the pen when Williamson goes on the DL.
