    Right-hander Derek Lowe and catcher Jason Varitek led a parade of 10 Red Sox who filed for free agency Monday, two days after they were honored in Boston following the team's first World Series title since 1918. Shortstop Orlando Cabrera and backup catcher Doug Mirabelli also filed along with right-handers Curtis Leskanic, Ramiro Mendoza and Scott Williamson; left-hander Mike Myers; first baseman Dave McCarty and second baseman Pokey Reese. Leskanic filed after Boston declined a $1.25 million option, electing to pay a $100,000 buyout. Thirteen Red Sox have filed for free agency since Boston won the World Series last Wednesday, and three more are eligible, including pitcher Pedro Martinez.

    He was kidding about them being drunk and that's why Trot hit a 3-0 pitch. All they did was take a sip out of a Gatorade Cup. It's not like everybody chugged beers before the game.

    Pudge wanted to re-sign with the Marlins last year, but they weren't willing to put up the money that he wanted, same with all the other free agents that they've lost. I don't even remember the last big free agent they've signed.

    I think most of ESPN.com's writers minus Peter Gammons are anti-Red Sox. ESPN analysts are definitely pro-Red Sox and you can tell when they do Red Sox games. Fox on the other hand well that's a different story.

    It's all a moot point seeing as the Marlins would nt be willing to fork up enough money to meet Pedro's demands.

    Canadiens came back from 3-1 not 3-0 like the Sox did especially after a humiliating loss.

    I have no doubt that Curt will be ready for spring training next year and for opening day at Yankee Stadium.

    Just went over there to read what's on the minds of Yankee fans and predictably all they're talking about is Manny's sign and Pedro being hit in the head today. They're saying how stupid we are to throw a ball at our own pitcher's head. Did it ever occur to them that it was a Yankee fan who threw at Pedro. And Manny is classless when he holds a sign up, while Sheffield can go on and on about beating Pedro up if he hits him again and is considered a hero there. I smell a little jealousy perhaps.

    I was just citing one specific example, but I think hearing the crowd chants was just as exciting as seeing the players.

    Some guy threw some type of orange juice bottle at the police motorcycles that I saw and some drunk guy ran into the middle of street while it was closed. That's all the misbehaving that I saw. People came up with chants for everything that they saw while we were waiting. We were across the street from a hotel and people chanted "Visor Guy" whenever a guy with a visor would peek his head out the window. I think the parade itself was a little bit of a disappointment. I didn't get to see Manny, Foulke or the World Series trophy because they were on the other side of the boat. The people on the other side of the street didn't get to see Schilling or Ortiz because they were on our side of the boat. I think that is why we should have a rally so everyone gets to see everybody. I am glad that I went because this is something that I'l probably always remember that I was at the first Red Sox world championship parade.

    I'm just curious who do the Yankees expect to trade to get Unit? I doubt the D-Backs are interested in Vazquez after the season he had this year.

    The one I've been hearing mostly is "Well we've got 26 championships." Which is interesting since I thought it was about when a team has won the championship last.

    Calm down everyone there's still ONE more to go don't go celebrating yet. Last time I thought my team had a sure series win, the Bruins laid an egg against the Canadiens and blew a 3-1 series lead. Anything can happen.
