  1. You were the one talking about how much Foulke sucks, but now we have to get his head straight? You are the dipshit my friend.
  2. Wells+Baserunning=Disaster
  3. Well overdue, at least it's a reason to talk about hockey in these parts.
  4. Here's the address for Fenway, and just put c/o Trot Nixon after it says Boston Red Sox. Welcome to the site. Boston Red Sox 4 Yawkey Way Boston MA 02215-3496
  5. I guess the hitting trait doesn't run in the family.
  6. A very notable trade in baseball today. Phillies receive: RP Ugueth Urbina IF Ramon Martinez Tigers receive: 2B Placido Polanco Polanco and Urbina are 2 players who I think would fit very well here, as they both fill respective needs. I wouldn't be surprised if Polanco was traded again for prospects later in the season when the Tigers are even more out of it.

  8. 7:10 tonight, so an hour earlier. 90 degrees in St. Louis, but there is a good possibility of "Strong Storms". http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/124071.jpg #16 David Wells (3-4 5.85) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/112020.jpg #29 Chris Carpenter (8-3 3.42) Leaving aside one tough inning, Wells pitched well in his last start, allowing nine hits and four runs in a no-decision against the Angels. As usual, his control has been impeccable. He's walked just four batters all season. Wells has pitched twice at Busch Stadium in his career, going 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA. Carpenter is working on a stretch of five straight quality starts, during which he's 4-1 and has dropped his ERA more than 8/10 of a run. He's only surrendered two homers over his last six games. The big right-hander has thrived in night games (4-0, 1.85), which Wednesday's contest will be. It will be intriguing to see him against the Red Sox, after he was unable to pitch in last year's World Series.
  9. Well Polanco was apparently available but he just got traded to Detroit, would have like to see the Sox take a shot with him. I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit looked to trade him again.
  10. I don't know why Tito is doing this. Manny just had a freaking 9 game hit streak broken in which he hit .395. He may not have the power numbers lately, but he has been performing. I just don't see how Manny has been "struggling" lately.
  11. I didn't realize that the player picked third overall out of USC by the Mariners, Jeff Clement, is Matt Clement's brother. Jeff is a catcher however.
  12. He's not a superstar your right, but he is a below average 2nd baseman. His career highs are that of a below 2nd baseman, so while he may be approaching his career average, it is a mediocre average. Is it too much like a Yankee fan to ask for an above average 2nd baseman? Not a great one, just above average.
  13. We've noticed.
  14. Other Sox picks 42. Clay Buchholtz-RF Angelina College 45. Jed Lowrie-2B Stanford 47. Michael Bowden-RHP Waubonsie Valley HS (IL) 57. Jonathan Egan-C Cross Creek HS (GA)
  15. Finals rematch?
  16. Yeah that's what it sounded like while watching the end of the game last night, I also found it pretty amusing.
  17. Oy, there you go Cardinal fans, congratulations you got your revenge from last year, unfortunately for you it has to come in the regular season, well tomorrow's a new day.
  18. 8:10 tonight. Should be a beautiful night in St. Louis with temperatures between 75 and 80. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/123801.jpg #49 Tim Wakefield (4-5 5.03) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/119403.jpg #35 Matt Morris (6-0 3.81) Wakefield will try to snap out of his recent woes. The veteran knuckleballer has lost his last four starts to fall below .500 for the first time this season. In his last outing, Wakefield was pounded by the Orioles, giving up nine hits and seven runs over 5 2/3 innings. Wakefield hasn't pitched at Busch Stadium in over a decade, when he was a member of the Pirates. In five career outings against the Cardinals, Wakefield is 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA. Morris has been eating innings and throwing strikes lately, and that's a good combination. He has yet to walk more than two batters in a game this season, and he's tossed at least six innings in six of his past seven starts. The powerful Red Sox pose a serious challenge for any pitcher, but it's been difficult to hit the ball out of the park against Morris this season (five homers in 56 2/3 innings).
  19. I like the username, welcome to the site.
  20. I think Pierre's going to the Yanks, with Damon going somewhere else. So I think what will ultimately happen is Hanley in Centerfield, we'll either sign Bellhorn to a 1 year contract or sign someone else, and then possibly bring up Pedroia in mid season. Kind of like what the Yankees did with Cano this year, and they signed Womack just in case.
  21. Yeah I was gonna say something, but I'm sure someone else would think of a better response that me.
  22. Same with me, I don't think I posted last year from like the end of May until Mid-August or so.
  23. Do you even remember what he did for us in the playoffs last year? But if he has 2 bad months, he sucks? Remember he only has 1 blown save this year. So when he is called on to actually save the game, he gets the job done.
  24. You want some milk? Rather have a beer.
