  1. Tim Lincecum smokes pot? why am i not shocked. and i know you have no control but someone needs to remove this newyorkchamps.com banner at the bottom of this page.
  2. talking about the 2000s... 1980 and 1990 are always included in their respective decades..
  3. Krejci goes down with the swine... The Yankees are world champions, The Celtics are undefeated and The Bruins haven't scored a goal in what seems like 3 weeks. I think i might stop watching sports for a while. It's probably best for my mental health.
  4. So who was the best team in the 2000s. Sox or Yanks? 2 titles a piece. Yanks have been to 2 more World Series, but I think that event in the 2004 ALCS, has to count for something. Thoughts?
  5. Phil simply did not want to be here. It is not a question of signing one player over another.
  6. I agree completely with you on the dmen. Wideman will have 1 really good period and then the next period he'll look completely lost. Hunwick has shown glimpses of what he can do, and has had solid breakout passes at times. Ference needs to be taken off the PP though and put Hunwick on there whether he "deserves it or not". IMO, Boychuk should be in the lineup over Ference or Hunwick. But the defense has really put the clamps down on teams the last couple games so I'm sure they'll stay the same. Chara played his best game of the season on Saturday, and has been stellar since Claude lit a spark under him.
  7. Ottawa he singlehandedly won us that game. Nashville I thought he was the difference maker in the 3rd. He's let in 3 goals the last 2 games. A 1.50 GAA, and we're complaining about the goaltender?????
  8. He hasn't been as good as last year but he has played well. And YH you blame every goal Timmy lets in on Timmy, while Tuukka's goals are somehow the defense's fault. Just looking for objectivity. I don't know why people blame everything on Thomas, when he is the least of our concerns. Ryder's been invisible the last 5 or 6 games and that's while playing with Bergeron. The frustrating thing is that we dominated this game even strength. The first goal in the Devils game he should have stopped but he didn't have much of a chance on the 2nd one after it hit a bunch of bodies. We let up 1 goal today which I don't think Timmy had much of a chance on because of a miscommunication in the defense. In an unrelated note, what do you think of Morris so far. I thought the goal today was partially his fault, but this season I think he's been our best overall defenseman, while YH says he's been the worst. your thoughts?
  9. and put in Jerry Hairston? Oh please, please, please do that. I thought Girardi was bad.
  10. Did anyone see that Jeter commercial? Are they kidding me??
  11. Can we all agree the problem with this team is not the goaltending? Both of the goalies have played superb thus far and are both playing what would be akin to a number 1 goalie. The defensive structure has been very good over the last week. When you allow 3 goals in 3 games, and have a 1-2 record to show for it, it is clear that people are just not putting the puck in the net. Bergeron and Krejci have been the 2 best forwards on this team thus far, but their wingers have failed to be able to put the puck in the net. I am pointing at you, Recchi, Sturm, Ryder. And don't get me started on the PP. This team clearly misses Savard right now and they need another scorer or 2 who can put the puck in the net. I know they'll probably pick one up at the deadline but I don't know if the team can survive until the deadline when they can't score..
  12. I think 86 has gotta be up there..
  13. Oh yes I remember that fondly. Some of my best ban jobs right there.
  14. I think they'll take a step back, rebuild a bit, and load themselves up for 2011. Bay is going to be too expensive to keep and there are no real alternatives on the market or available for trade. I think they take a regression next year, keep relatively the same lineup together and not plan on making a major splash this season. Most of their top prospects are in the lower levels right now, so once they come up by 2011 then I think the Sox are a force to be reckoned with. Will they make the playoffs? Possibly. But I don't see them contending for a championship next year.
  15. Wyc disagrees.
  16. Quinnipiac Bobcats, 3-0-0. Ranked number 18th in the country. 2 wins at Ohio State.
  17. uglyyyyyy...

  19. Enjoy the playoff run. Worry about that stuff later...
  20. The score was 5-1 at the time, so goading him into a dumb penalty really wouldn't have made too much of a difference. As I said I don't think Lucic meant to do what he did, it was a split second decision and he likely regretted it 5 seconds later. He likely thought that they would give them both matching penalties, and that would be the end of it. I'm not defending Lucic here, he probably deserved the suspension. But I don't think it will change the tone of the series...
  21. I agree that Lucic got out of hand in the last regular season game against Montreal. But I don't think he was out of line last night. He saw Lapierre charging at him and put his stick up to defend himself and cross checked him. This wasn't a premeditated act like attacking Komisarek from behind. It was a split second decision, and I'm sure Lucic would like to have it back. But he CANNOT CANNOT change the way he plays.
