  1. if he cant close he cant start..I think he pushed himself to come back --once again, without being ready..I think he would best serve this team by healing first and playing when he is really ready and maybe drop few pounds along the way,.
  2. joe pepitone? he loved his drugs..
  3. suicide...some sound advice for millar maybe but I am not ready for the ledge just yet. on what basis can you say that foulke will be back to his old form...?
  4. I am confident we're in the race. I'm just seeing some things that are worrisome. foulke coming back certainly does nothing to help my confidence...he was pitching like a f***ing stiff before this, what makes you think that he will be any better when comes back..he might be worse!!!!! I hope not, but it can happen.. schilling is dreadful, and that doesnt make me confident that he can do any better as a starter. which leaves us with starting pitching that is anything but spectacular. I dont think anything is shambles, I do think it's going to be a f***ing dogfight fo the division,. though.
  5. being diehard doesnt mean being blindly optimistic or irrational. I think a lot of the people let their hate of the yankees blind them to reality. I dont know about you but johnson versus clement...makes me worry...mussina..riveria.. Christ, their staff has been decimated and they still are onlky 3.5 games back. Many of you guys are pricing champagne for the division clinching party already. realism isnt by definition being pessimistic or optimistic its an understanding that our team is flawed as are the yankees. It may only be the devil rays but we lost a game last night becasue we dont have a closer, we almost lost some the other night...we got problems. I for one cant get myself worked into a lather relying on a guy making his second big league start. I hope he does great... but hey, we've got a month and half to play...you might want to stop counting the yankees out because before you know it you'll be checking the wild card standings and wondering how we blew it.
  6. I still say gammons has never been right before, so all this specultaion based on his "insider" info seems like a lot about niothing.
  7. nothing surprises me anymore. the fact that schilling is still the closer is ridiculous. the fact that remlinger isnt already in a babe ruth league is bizarre. The fact that people in here are counting out the yankees already defies my imagination. The fact that some poeple still can conjure a case not to send millar packing makes me think that there is serious crystal meth problem in the nation.
  8. is some one in here suggesting that last night was fluke...? have you been watching schilling as a relief pitcher during the last few weeks? a 1-2-3 inning would be a fluke.
  9. 21 games at home versus 19 big whoop. the yankees have two bonafide aces on their staff we have none. They have the best closer in the game, we dont have one. the redosx should have pulled away from the yankees and the rest of the division but we havent. We have I think a losing if not 500 record against our division and we play these teams in septmeber. granted we have been winning butwe have been giving a lot of runs, our fdefense has been downright s***** and our reluief pitching putrid. This is not a playoff formula. being realistic and thinking about the future is a good thing. Years of blind faith and gut wrenching losses have made me plenty skeptical, and I think this team has enormous flaws, and we are f***ing lucky the yankees have them too. The yankees, their manager and their players have years of experience and we should be very worried about them and we should not as a team be losing game against the tigers in the ninth f***ing inning.
  10. um, because they are niave and stupid.. here's an example, we have to go to war because there are WMD's, and here is some evidence we made up....to prove it...lies...and the guy is re-elected.. like with raffy fans can be blind about a guy becasue they like him in spite of his lies and cheatin. .
  11. judging from dougie's girth the only 'roids he has to worry about are the ones in his ass.
  12. why would gammons get this story right he hasnt gotten one right in his whole career. every trade rumor every thing that guy says either never happens or has already happened and he got it off the wire. I bet it doesnt work out that way now pete has said that. I know it's blasphemy to say all this but I am puzzled at the high regard that this guy is held by citizens of the RSN..I'm holding him to this scoop, and I bet it works out very differently-it always does.
  13. I wish kevin would be allowed to take them he might actually do more than an occasional measly hit or pop up to the infield. They should the Millar execption clause. he gets a ten game suspension if stops taking them,.
  14. mccarty would be cool there.
  15. I would have taped myself booing so when I got hoarse I could play the tape.
  16. I saw this on another site and thought that it was funny, well, in a sad way. "Kevin Millar couldn't hit Oprah in the azz with an oversized tennis racket and he runs like Orson Wells...I would send Millar to a Mexican league club for a case of Cabo Wabo Tequilla."
  17. O's fans are notoriously amongh the most peaceful, boring and stupid fans in the game. The fact is I saw that raffy was greeted with a mixed reception. This deifies my wildest dreams and they guy should be booed and pelted with garbage,. well, okay just booed, but not cheered under any circumstance.
  18. on the surface that is a good point by bronxy, but basically doesnt say anything. The nature of who you play might have some bearing on taking a two week snap shot of a season like that. The most significant point you made, however, was referencing the win-loss records. Your make shift starting rotation can do a great job and have a miniscule ERA but here on the planet earth I think they determine the standings by wins, not based on any of those other stats.
  19. he hit a home run, so that makes him better than millar. i like the guy he has had some clutch hits, which also differntiates him from millar...I know they will probably use olerud and milllar but I would love to see roberto and olerud in there.
  20. i didnt see anything official on the status of remlinger. man, he sucks, though.
  21. he is a s***** player and plays like a homo. he is hwoever, married. He balmed his s***** start last year in his wife's mi-cariage. Now he the twins are keeping him up. yeah, you're right he's a homo. .PS: How fitting the his name start with K, the twins first names both start with K. sounds like it should have been belllhorn's family.
  22. He should have quite an impact on pawtucket's playoff hopes
  23. I agree with sizzlin on this one, but I like paps a lot. so it's all good, what my concern these days is revoles around schilling's weakness as a closer, and my fear that foulke wont be any good. I dont think we have a a contingency plan for a foulke that is the same or God forbid worse than before..
  24. how about some speculation what a good time time to call up papelbon to pitch on tuesday.
