  1. I was way off. It's a minor groin injury. Only precautionary.
  2. Not really, but I could be wrong. He may have hurt it on the dive, or running to first base.
  3. How about this: Red Sox get: Dontrelle Wills Marlins get: Jon Lester Manny Delcarmen Brandon Moss It sort of makes sense. The Marlins get a potential ace, a potential domiant set-up man, and a potential 20+ HR outfielder. Problem is, that someone like the Angels could probably outbid this.
  4. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5488220 Purely hypothetical, but let's say he comes available. Who do you offer in an attempt to acquire him? A hint: Start with Jon Lester.
  5. Meredith has thrown 3.1 scoreless innings so far. Season Line: 3.1 IP's 0 H 1 BB 4 K's 2/1 GB/FB 4:1 K/BB ratio
  6. Brandon Moss through 11 AB's is hitting .273 Season Line: .273/.333/.455/.788 (0/2) BB/K 0 HR's 2 2B 2 RBI's
  7. Luis Soto is now hitting .300 for the season so far. Season Line: .300/.300/.650/.950 (0/6) BB:K 4 XBH's 1 HR 5 RBI's
  8. The Red Sox press conference is currently airing on WEEI.
  9. I was hoping someone caught that.
  10. I really can't take ANYONE seriously who can't correctly place a period in the correct order. As for hypocrites, didn't you launch the first attack when you called him a "geek", not really offensive, but it shows your obvious lack of understanding for the word, hypocrite. Wait, let me write it so you can understand. i rly cnt tkae ne serisly lol lol hoo cnt corect lol palce a pr.d lol ni teh corect order . as for crites, didnt u launch teh f.rst tack whn u caled him gek not rly ofens shows ur lack of lol l.ol lol ha pwns brosnon raw/
  11. If that happened, then I don't think Bronson Arroyo would be the answer to that. You'd need divine intervention to stop that downfall. But, just for the sake of argument, let's say that we are hit with injuries to that amount. The Red Sox have plenty of viable options who make much less, and have equal or more upside then Arroyo. Jonathan Papelbon, could easily step in and be a very good starting pitcher. Lenny Dinardo, could equal Arroyo's numbers as a starter. Jon Lester whom could be ready by July, has way higher upside then Arroyo. It's not often, you're offered outfielders with 35 HR power potential for a fifth starter. Even if Pena never improves his OBP skills, he's still a great fourth outfielder, who mashes lefties. What happened was a f***ing miracle, and I want you to acknowledge it.
  12. wrd. bronson pwns. i def h8te willey moee pana. he def suks. ne way did u see bronso? he pwns. i luv his crn rows.
  13. OK, let's go with that argument. You're saying if the numbers are put up in crunch time, then they are more important. Going with that logic, Ortiz is the AL MVP last year. But, that's not how the judge MVP's or Cy Young's. Santana pitched 232 innings of domiant baseball, won 16, and was probably the sole reason why the team was even close to the playoffs.
  14. That's his potential. With a .248 BA throughout his career. He has a .304 OBP. If he learns to lay off those pitches, he'll improve. Right now, he's probably a .300 OBP guy. But, if he has a Jesse Barfield like jump in his production, (PETCO has his number one similarity listing as Barfield) then his OBP will unquestionly rise.
  15. That's more important, when deciding on a Cy Young winner.
  16. I think you need help letting go your obession with the old guard. I don't see why you are so opposed to getting rid of a league average pitcher, with a declining K/9 rate for a player who has the potential to be a .260/.330/.500 hitter. If this risk pays off, they got a middle of the order hitter for the next 10 years. If not, we just gave up a league average pitcher, who was making four million dollars pitching out of the bullpen.
  17. They'll win because it's the Royals. Oh wait, that wasn't the case last year.
  18. Lowrie had a pretty strong performance today, going 2-4 with a double and two walks. 2006 Line: .312/.500/.563/1.063 4/3 (BB/K) 3 XBH 0 HR's 6 RBI's
  19. If David Ortiz doesn't win the AL MVP then you can't give the Cy Young to Mariano Rivera. You could also use the most valuable pitcher debate, and hand it over to Colon. If the Angels don't have Colon, do they make the playoffs? Nope. Look at Santana's stats last year: 231.2 IP 2.87 ERA 238 K's. That's pure domination.
  20. You are all wrong. Wells gets traded in July to the Padres, and Roger Clemens replaces him. Am I on LSD?
